And said that the Alstott play was inconclusive. It is equally inconclusive whether or not Dolly Parton is big busted.

In a related story the NFL has launched an investigation to see if a bear craps in the woods.

The only time they will admit that their boys screwed up is when one of the idiots does something so blatant it's indefensible, like say screwing up the coin toss before an overtime game. That hasn't happened before, has it?

I can't wait until they let us know that Jordan was down too. The back judge (number 70) was only staring at the ball on the ground and made no call.

Alstott could've fumbled at the 2, had it recovered by LaVar, who runs to midfield before being tackled, and the Refs could've said he broke the plane of the endzone, and the NFL would've backed them up. There was no way the league was going to apologize for this.

Let's not forget that Gibbs launched an above average tirade after the game, so much so that he later apologized. That in itself prevented any sort of apology to come from them.

That and they had already fined him once for ambiguously exposing the refs incompetence in Denver.

Yes, I'm currently leading the investigation. So far it is inconclusive, but I will publish the results as soon as I've successfully surveyed the entirety of the region.

I would rather have them respect Gibbs' penchant for tirading and get the call right during the game then to have an apology after they get it wrong.

NFL officials just basically suck overall.

The refs tried to give you guys that game.

1> Phantom offensive PI on Moss
2> Schweigert makes a great play and it was called PI.

that is an excellent point. they are going to take care of their own, especially since there is no higher authority to go to and they are powerless to do anything about the outcome of the game anyway.

Yeah, okay. how about the fumble by Jordan near the goal line? Forgot about that one, huh?

Moss is known for pushing off DB's. He was guilty...

Hey didn't the league say that we were right about the Offsides on the blocked Xtra point and the Galloway Catch where he was "forced out" thereby making the play non-reviewable?

This isnt supposed to be against the refs or anything, but why do they not allow you to chalenge something that is down by contact?

I will agree NFL officials suck overall...but come'on.

Schweigert was all over the receiver , and the fumble by jordan more tyhen makes up for the offensive PI on Moss.

You got your win...be happy, but stop trying to say the refs were against you. They might have well been wearing silver and black they way they called the game.

The Logic is that if something is down by contact then the whistle blew. Nothing that happens after the whistle blows really "happens".

Where it gets murky and what is frustrating is that many times the refs don't blow the whistle and then come in after the fact and say it was down by contact.

Also, if they call it down by contact and then find out it was a fumble they would not know where to place the ball for the change of possession.

They shouldnt call down by contact 5 seconds after a play.

My question is, why don't they give the ball to the team who recovered it and then review the play instead of saying the player was down. Clearly there was no whistle so it wasn't a dead ball. They can review after that to determine if he was down. The problem is they err on the other side every time thus making the play unreviewable. I still want to beat the back judge and according to the Post article, I will fit right in with all the other drunk thugs at the game.

That's what they're supposed to do. According to "Official Review" on NFL Network, that's what they're instuctued to do. Yet, somehow, week in and week out, they keep blowing the whistle early. What can you do about it? I'm starting to believe the NFL is becoming the WWE for people who are slightly more observant.
