Thrash and Sellers are definte game misses and according to the Post, Both Grif and Betts are listed as doubtful and will likely not play.

These are all piling up and becoming critical.

Thrash and Sellers are HUGE due to special teams. They are two of the very best, not just on this team, but in the NFL on coverage units. You get hard core play and guys that know hwo to stay in lanes and make plays. This will hurt. I worry about our kick return units on Sunday.

As for Grif, I believe the injury is more serious than we know. This will be week 4 Grif is out.

Betts. Anyone getting tired of his constant injuries? We like Betts, we liek what he provides, but how coudl we ever depend on this guy. He has never had a single full healthy season. To me, it is getting tiring

The Rock will step it up on special teams.

I like Betts. I'd rather not comment further after a loss as I am still pretty down and don't want to be negative.

<Sigh>

We need to make a call to coach Belichick for the Pats to see what he's done to get his team to 6-4 with all the key injuries they've had and the schedule they've played. Sellers and Thrash are huge! If we don't re-sign Antonio Brown to fill Thrash's spot at least consider Patrick Johnson (if he's still available). He's fast and a decent return guy.

Oh and yes I'm tired of Betts being injured too. He's a decent backup but I don't see how we can keep this guy if he's constantly injured. I'm not sure what his contact status is but I woudn't mind getting a guy like Najeh Davenport (healthier version of course) or somebody like that this offseason.

Loss of Thrash and Sellars, the two best special teamers, will hurt.

Betts being out really hurts our running and return games. I hope we get rid of him this year. I love him when hes in, but he is injury prone and not a great blocker.

According to Coach, there won't be a determination on Betts and Griff until later in the week.

 Cartwright worrys me every time i see him on the field. I have too many images of the ball flying off somewhere.

Anyone else notice broughton down working with kick return guys before the game? NEMO, Moss, Trash....'and' Springs, were down working with kick/punt return guys before the game.

We moved parson back down to the practice squad and signed farris. I dont believe farris is a return guy, but he is a god special teamer. Think we have nemo returning kicks next sunday? or even springs? (still find that odd)

With sellers out, who is going to be our 'wedge buster' on returns now?

Just put Griffin on IR and get it over with.

I hate to say it, but I think it will be Rock and Nemo returning KO this week. Redskins.com has reported that A. Brown was visiting RP today. Did anyone see McCune on ST last week? I thought I saw him, but I wasn't sure. I mean, he is not Thrash or Sellers, but I bet he can lay some wood to someone on the field.

This really hurts our chances at winning a game that is all but the most critical game of the season.I really hope we can get a spark from some backups in their positions to make it seem like the loss wasn't that bad.

Our best defensive player and the heart of our special teams.

These are real big injuries, Sellers and Thrash were both recieving options. We now have Jimmy Farris, Koz, and Rich Parson. Griffin has been missed throughout the whole year, and Betts has done alright on ST.

We are starting to get bit with the injury bug. It happens to just about every team in the league the difference is the really good teams can wheather it and keep themselves competitive despite that the average to bad teams will falter. This is the time when we get to see some of our younger players and if they can step up and play. Ultimately it'll be our depth that determines the rest of our season.

I was thinking of Rock's skill on coverage units mostly.

I know how you feel re: the fumbling thing. I have the same feeling evry time Portis, Brunell, and Betts touch the ball.

I find myself screaming "hold onto the ball" every time one of our guys get tackled now. Even Cooley has had a few lately, lets face it, the turnovers have plagued the entire team this year, except the Defense, they barely know what a turnover is.

well since Betts is hurt i guess i'll have to endure seeing more of Rock, because our coaches apparently will not play Nemo until everyone else is hurt.

Nemo was active on Sunday, he was wearing #30. I don't know if he played on special teams or not but I bet he plays this week.

I figured Nemo to be "the closer". You know, when we have 3 downs, need 10 yards and fully intend to run 3 straight times. If he's not here for that, then why IS he here?

Yeah, I did too. Gibbs doesn't like to play people until they have been around for a while and I'm not so sure you can do that these days. You really have to use almost your entire roster in this salary cap era, IMO.

This is not the news I was hoping for, we need those guys going up against a strong team like the Bolts. I still think the key to this game is time-of-possession, we need to win that to stay in the game.

Was or was not Griffin out of much of last season, too, with injury?

Yeah, well, this is another area that ol' Joe is gonna have to learn the hard way. He did over some things last year, and he'll have to learn the ol' boy way won't work these days. RBs last for just so many years now. This is now a plug 'n' play league for many positions. At least for getting part-time reps. Part of the Skins' progress will be reflected by how quickly or slowly Gibbs updates his coaching mantras. Some of them I think are sound and stand the test of time. Others were already blown away last year and some still need to find the grave. Joe is intelligent; he'll figure it out.

Griffin is the only guy on this list who is a starter in the NFL and we have no backup who is even close to him. that's the problem.

Our return game is in trouble facing Sproles of SD. a good off & def effort might be done in by PR/KR TD.

well, if nemo actually plays I'm looking forward to seeing him. Losing Thrash/Sellers and Griff is going to hurt but as some have mentioned, this is where the good teams just go out and manage wins. This week is make or break anyway. If we don't win here, whatever happens after that is pretty much a wash. Luckily Joe Salave'a is playing well in the middle. Of course he's no Griff and the 2 together make a formidable tandem but at least he's in there battling. I too have a bad feeling that Griff is worse off than we know. Hopefully Chris Clemons plays in some more packages and can generate some pressure. At this point only he, Aki Jones, and D.Evans have any sacks from the Dline and Chris isn't a D-lineman. If we're to be a good team, it's time to set the tone for the remainder of the season and step it up.

Griffin's injury is starting to remind me of the knee tendonitis escapade we had with Barrow last year.

This is why I knew that it was going to be a disadvantage for us to have a bye week so early. Hopefully other guys can step up and fill the void.

? Justification?

His is not anywhere related to tnedonisits? It is a hip flexor. They take time.

I always hear the coaching staff praising Bubba Tyer and the trainers, but I feel differently after Lavar, Barrow, the Toe, and now this.

they both want to play, but realistically they raent going to. thrash with the hamstring and sellers from that block(which he returned later). does that mean nemo will see significant playing time?

I wouldnt go saying that, i have seen just as many people saying we will win as people saying we will lose. The chargers have a pile of injuries also. Most notably, Gates...who is listed as questionable, not probable. The chargers are calling him a "game time decision". Which means he is either not going to play or he is not fully healed. I highly doubt schotty is using this to "trick us", he doesnt want to see sean taylor knock his boy out for more games. Gates is also listed at "did not practice".

The game starts 0-0, dont go calling it over before its over. See you all at the game. :) (down in 132)

EDIT: press release from the chargers shows gates as questionable and "did not practice". Reading into it, most places are saying he did practice...odd. one of the links: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/preview?gid=20051127028&prov=ap

It hurts to have Sellers and Betts out so much. I really think out teams are gonna be hanging by a tread.
