Hey Doc!

What does it mean to the rest of the team to see Joe Gibbs stick with a guy who struggled like Robert Royal did only to have a huge rebound game? What kind of message does it send to the rest of the guys?

Thanks, Chris.

Hello Doc

My question is very simple: In your opinion, do we really have a chance at the playoffs?

Doc...

Can we run the table? And, does Clinton Portis deserve a Pro Bowl appearance with this year's performance?

Does it seem like lavar is no where near as fast as he used to be ? He is playing well but he doesnt seem to have dynamic speed that set him apart from the rest of the NFL LBs anymore

Doc,

In my experience Clinton Portis does not get as much love on the message boards as he should. They always say that he is not the type of back for our offense but last year he racked up 1315 yards rushing despite really missing two whole games and this year he is on pace to eclipse the all time single season rushing record for the Redskins. He is 7th in the league in rushing right now but more importantly he is one of the best backfield blockers in the league. So many times I have seen him give up his body to pick up a blitz from someone twice his size.

Cmon Doc, give CP the love he deserves.

Kenny id like you to ask doc if he believes this team is continuing to improve due to the lack of turnover from last year ie Coaching and Players? Does he believe that continuity can work in todays NFL and will this stretch run serve as a foundation to Solid play and Playoff caliber football in Washington?

Oh yeah what does he think about the big bodied recievers in Arizona and how will/should we defend those 2?

Doc
At this point in time can our O-Line and backfield pound the ball against some of the more formatable Ds in the league? They looked very good against the Rams and we can win every game if they can preform like that but............?

Do you think the Cardinals offense could be better kept in check with a 3-4 defensive alignment by the Redskins in particular?

Will we blitz as much as we did against the rams for the cardinals this week?

Hey Doc what do you think about Sean Taylor in his second year as a pro?
How much better do you think we are than last year?
Do you think Greg Williams is commited to be here and be Gibbs successor?
What are your thoughts on Taylor Jacobs?
Hows does Jason Campbell look so far?
Thanks

Can you explain to me why Frost is still on this team. Are there really no better options available? He must be doing something right that I am not grasping, because as far as I can tell he has consistently shown he has a weak leg and has been a major contributor to our regular poor field position. He makes the special teams coverage unit look worse then they are and hangs the defense out to dry. It would be one thing if he came up with big kick occassionally when we really need it, but it almost seems like he kicks poorest when we require a big one.

Doc, in all your experiences and history with Joe Gibbs have you ever known him to defer the opening kickoff when given the choice? While I understand the thinking of taking an early lead and placing pressure on the opponent, it hasn't appeared to work for this team. The skins have received the opening kickoff in 8 games this year and have failed to score a single point on any of their opening drives. It may be coincedence but the skins are 3-5 when getting the ball first and 3-1 when kicking. Why not put the defense on the field first? It is the strongest unit on the team, could give the offense good field position, and allow us to receive the ball in the second half. I understand that the option isn't always ours, but isn't the conventional thinking to put your strongest unit on the field first to set the tone?

Doc -- do you think Greg Williams will be back next year and keep with the long term plan of him succeeding Gibbs? Do you think he'll really stick around 3 more years (if Gibbs coaches out his contract) and keep passing on these open gigs?

Hey Doc - What is your view on Chris Samuels this season, some of the board have been down on him, especially after the Giants game, even though Omenyiora has been a beast this year?

Two questions:

Did the 250+ yard rushing day happen because the team finally performed their capabilities, or was it more a symptom of Rams defense being beat up and not very good to begin with along with pretty bad game plan? By "bad game plan" I mean, it seemed like they had almost all their defensive players up on the line of scrimmage, once a runner broke through that he was able to hammer it for a big gain because they didn't have a safety net.

And...

How well do you think the Skin's Defense will be able to handle those two Cards receivers? Those guys are monsters. Typically, I would expect Greg Williams to rattle Kurt Warner with blitzes (they can't make big plays if the QB can't get them the ball), but I'm worried that we'll commit too many men to the blitz and become vulnerable to big plays.

Doc, Back in your Day it seemed we could dominate any team we wanted consistantly. But that has seemed like an achilles heel for us this year Consistantly playing dominant Ball. Do you think trying to do what you do best(imposing your strength) or Playing to a Defenses weaknesses is the way to go? And from your Experience with Joe which does he prefer?

Also I love what Joe Gibbs does for this team. Is he the real reason we still have meaningful Football in December or do you think there are other Spark Plugs and Dirtbags who deserve a lion share of the good from this season?

Here are some more...Doc, how weary is Joe Gibbs of turnovers. We heard this off season about one of the reasons he didnt like the shotgun was the Chance for a turnover the snap created. Does his mentality apply to pitch outs and toss sweeps as well. it seems like Portis excells at those Pitches and Tosses but we dont use them as routinely as I would like. Could this be a reason why and from your experience how detrimental to success is a turnover really?

Doc, one of the things alot of skins fans are worried about this week is the big plays the offense of the Cardinals can create? I feel our D is top notch but it has given up quite a few big plays. Could you talk about why we have seen that this year? is there something we have a tendacy to do wrong or are other teams just some things right?

Doc,

will the Skins ever wear the spear throwbacks again? And why don't we wear Burgundy on Burgundy with black cleats? That would be tough.

Sorry guys, I have to apologize to some of you for missing your questions this week. I was one of the unfortunate souls that couldn't access the site over the last couple of days, and I spoke with Doc last night to do our latest Q&A, so I essentially went with what I was already aware of. I don't want anyone to think that their questions aren't worthy or anything long those lines.
