What do you guys think about us letting Sulfsted go already? I guess I thought the club was at least considering keeping him this season has a back-up T/G depending on training camp and all, but he didn't even make to camp. I thought he didn't do that bad last year filling in at Tackle some for Samuels, especially for a young player. Oh well.

ehh... i agree with ya Tex in that he did alright when he was in there... but there is really too much talent on this team this year. We are really deep in so many positions with the same talent level... save DT and QB...
with all the free agents and free agent rookies... expect some tough cuts this year

He must not have been in shape to handle the other guys. Different team now.

I thought that he was great last year under the circumstances. I would have rathered they kept him around throughout camp until the final cuts in case of an injury to someone that is projected ahead of him.

I take it as a sign that Dockery is looking like everything they hoped when drafted.
I think we had just too much talent. But I'm sad to see him go. I thought he was a great back up/marginal starter at a great value. Which is usually as good as you can get as a back up. I'll bet he's good enough to get a starting spot on a weaker line. Hope it's not Dallas though, they've "eaten" pretty good off of our left overs, lately - tucker, grau.

The problem that I have with that is everyone looks good when the pads aren't on. There have been so many reports of this guy possibly starting, yet he hasn't seen any live fire NFL practices where the guys on the other side aren't being restrained to an extent.

I guess this also means that Rod Jones is healthy

Yeah I'd have to say that this move bodes well for Rod Jones. Can't see him not making the team now.

Wow, this is a shock. I would say Jones stock must have climbed a little

too bad. alex played while when he had the chance. jones was brought here to play guard which is obviously something he doesnt need to be doing. he is a good backup tackle, hopefully he will stay healthy.

I think he played well also. Hopefully no one will grab him and he'll be available in the event of injury.

We might be doing the honorable thing by cutting him early and giving him a chance to latch on someplace else.

Yo Terry, welcome!
As Nay said in the interview, Sulfsted is a nice fit for a few games, but if Samuels or Jansen goes down early, Sulfsted is not a guy that can play every game. Perhaps this shines a light on the great depth this year on the line.

Thanks for the welcome, you guys have a nice board here. I thought I'd drop over and see what all the fuss is about :)

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. And as cheap as he was I'd rather error in keeping him than letting him go. Here's hoping management has seen more than us.
