Man I've gotta admit I really look forward to hearing what the Doc has to say each week and this week was no exception.... another quality read from the Doc.
I think he brings up a really good point in how backs with less skill than Portis can look so good in this system. Rock and Cartwright have both looked more natural running the ball in the limited time I've seen them than clinton does. I too think Portis is getting better each game but I have yet to see him consistently light it up in this scheme and I know he is talented enough to do so because he has already done it in spurts. I think that lacking a legitimate threat opposite Moss allows Defenses to key on him more when he's in . However I think it has just as much to do with the fact that at times he's lumbering behind the blocks, off balance and/or too cautious. Now I'm not knocking CP and I dont necessarly think he's a bad fit for this system but I do want to see him find his comfort level with this scheme and return to being a top 5 back, not in just the NFC but in the NFL.

Very frank, honest, and refreshing just as we had expected. Great read no doubt. Doc loves the Redskins just as much as we do if not more. His articles have been the best thing to happen to hr in awhile.
