Xbox or Ps2

I know theres been a thread about this before but i thought id start a new one with the brink of all the new systems coming out. I personally used to have a Ps2 and thougth the xbox was stupid and big. Actually the only thing that hooked me to xbox was halo...lol...i think this is why alot of xbox people have there xbox's...but xbox graphics really did blow away ps2s imo...but i thought the actual games for ps2 were always better...The only gamea i play for a significant amout of time are sports games and halo anyway, so xbox was ideal for me. For everybody who has both or played both what do you think of each? For the one you like better why do u like ti better? Is it a matter of games or graphics? Im kind of eager to see what you guys think becuase me and my friends have been arguing about which is better recently and I think there just being stubborn about being loyal to sony...but, mayybe im wrong, mayube a lot of people actually think PS2 was better than the box...thanks for your thoughts and opions...

I guess it all depends on the gamer. I'm only into playing sports games like b-ball and football, so I chose XBOX because the graphics are significantly better than ps2. I suck at HALO, but its pretty fun. ps2 has way more games, but I played madden on both, and there is no comparison on which one is better, XBOX by a mile.

Well, overall, I am a PS2 guy... the game selection and variety is a bit better, I think, and that's really what it's about for me. Plus, online is free, and that's where I do the majority of my gaming (so my friends and I can play together, we're spread all over the state). The new slimlines are nice, too, especially if you can get a hold of a portable screen for them.

Same here, the XBOX controller just looks too complicated for me to even try to play it.

Plus PS3 will surely blow all others away. Speaking of Xbox, I wonder how many Mac weenies prefer xbox over ps. Probably more than will admit it.

ps2 because of the games. The new soul caliber is awesome and its only on the Ps2. RE4 was only on GC for a while then it got onto Ps2. All the GTA games come out for Ps2 first too. Lotsa good games there.

Gamecube does suck, but their controller looks like a dream compared to the PS3 boomerang. That thing looks awful.

I am a PS2 kinda guy. My two reasons are the controller differences, PS2 is more comfortable to me, and the games seem to be more mature on the PS2 compared to xbox.

I have had the 360 for about a month now-..........graphics are GREAT-gameplay is really really smooth..........And the NEW controller is fantastic (alot like the PS2's) and is good for those making the switchover.........

Think this is ps2 or xbox 1, not 360 :PThe author did mention "with all the new units" something to that effect so 360 and ps3 are included. I'm a Xbox guy and the 360 rocks. The wireless controllers are very nice and the remote control function they added to them is a very nice feature. Plus I can connect it to my computer wirelessly and play music and view pictures. I haven't even gotten into the modding of it yet.

Ah right. I'm a Playstation type of guy, I just like the variety it has and it's lasted me since it came out, and I like Sony products in general so I'm going to show some loyalty and get a PS3. I figure, the later the release date, the less bugs that'll come with the machine.

Also, for the flak the gamecube takes, there is some fun gaming there.

True. Gamecube is excellent. Between my roommate and myself, we have all the current systems. PS2 is by far the least-played, not to say that it's bad or anything.

The Xbox (now 360) is just what we use for online gaming and games like Oblivion that the other systems can't handle. Gamecube is the best multiplayer option and we are even able to get the girls downstairs to come play Mario Party on a regular basis. PS2 just ends up being the odd one out.

If online gaming interests you, Xbox is the way to go, no doubt about it.

xbox 360 for me but I have them all. Im a big nerd. 360 is the easiest to play and best graphics. I love the new controller and online is great. Once the software catches up with the hardware in a few years this system will be amazing.

The "new generation" of systems usually comes every 5-6 years. The 360 jumped out the gate a bit earlier than the other so I expect the next gen will start closer to that 6-year range.

However, when you look at the early PS2 graphics, they quite simply don't look very good. At all. After a couple years, developers became more familiar w/ the hardware and games started using it to its maximum potential.

You gotta figure it takes 2-3 years to really start pushing the console and then there's always another couple of games that come out each year afterward that blow you away and make people say, "I can't believe they did that on this console."

Yeah, in 2010 we'll be hearing all about the Uberbox3000 or whatever, but in 2008 we'll be amazed at what they're pulling off on the 360 and PS23.

I have a 360 and i play halo2 on it more than my 360 games. Halo2 is a awesome game. I was really disappointed with madden 06 on 360 though because they took off so many features on it. Call of Duty2 for 360 is another really good game, the graphics are amazing!

omg i love halo2 so much im a lvl 26 online but i used to be like a 28 anyway i would have to pick xbox because its got halo2. But i have a 360.
