Just read it. Taylor will be absoluetly fantastic when its all said and done. I haven't seen a guy out there who intimidates like he does since Ronnie Lott. When he learns to recognize offensive sets even more, he will be unstoppable.

He's one of the greatest hitters in football.Good read. Thanks hail2skins!

that was a good read, thanks for posting it. i like to hear quotes. that artical had some good quotes from Greg Williams and Taylor. that tackle he made was textbook, reminded me of that tackle he made at the goal line last year.

Late in the fourth quarter, on a 4th-and-2 play, Taylor tackled running back J.J. Arrington short of the first down. It was a key play in the Redskins' win.

Discussing the play, Taylor said: "We had an alert. Pierson [Prioleau] looked back at me and called out the read and that gave me a little jump on it. Everybody just stayed inside their blocks. I was able to come up and stop him."

It's good to hear about them all being on the same page like that. Prioleau must be good at his reads and with his familiarity in this system.

Sean Taylor made a reputation tackle to seal the victory against the Cardinals this weekend. J.J. Arrington was about two yards shy of the first down marker and was one on one with Taylor, but instead of trying to fight for the yardage, he thought it would be better not to get hit by Taylor than to get the first down. He is the most frightening safety in the NFL, and the second most frightening player behind Ray Lewis. He is only in his second year and he is already Pro Bowl caliber. He will be the best that ever lined up at safety when it is all said and done (that is if he can stay on the football field and not in jail). That tackle was not the most important Sunday, Ade Jimoh's tackle of Larr Fitzgerald on 3rd and 2 on the screen pass was the most impressive. But we all know that Taylor is better than Jimoh, look at the tackle against Joey Porter. That's all I have to say, he's a beast.

Let me clarify something, the tackle by Taylor was not weak. He put himself in a good position to make the play and he made it. My point was that Arrington went down pretty much voluntary and didn't fight for teh first. But that was all attributed to the good positioning of Taylor. Good Job.

Jimoh has pretty good size and speed and he tackles well, but he had help on his tackle. he held the guy up until help arrived, and the guy was a lot bigger than him. Taylor's tackle was one on one, and you may be right about Arrington being intimidated, but he knew his limitations and it was still a text book tackle. i would not mind seeing Jimoh at safety instead of corner. when he's covering backs and tightends, he's pretty much playing like a safety.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Now that he has been in the league almost 2 season and he keeps accumulating bonecrushing hits I wonder how feared he is becoming and will continue to become. I know the WR in our division know all about him, but I wonder when he becomes the most feared safety in all of football? Has that time already come? If so that is scary b/c he just keeps getting better. Between him, M. Washington and Griffin we have a very strong nucleus to anchor a D for years to come.

he's an incredible athlete with great size and speed. he should probably be playing somewhere other than safety but at safety, he is an intimidator, and that's what the U. of Miami does, they take guys like Taylor who had 44 TD's on offense as a running back in highschool where he set the record and won the championship, and convert him to safety where he totally dominates. i am sure everyone knows about him because he was probably scrutinized under the microscope by every team leading up to when he was drafted, and he has probably met or exceeded everyone's expectations, unlike KW2 and many others.

Yeah I've heard Taylor was the best RB in FLA his senior year. That is no minor feat. Taylor is an extraordinary talent and the more cerebral his game becomes the more the big hits will keep coming. I hope he is a Redskins for his whole career.

As for KW2, to this day I have been so greatful that Tagliabue announced Sean Taylor's name instead. At the time I dreaded and expected it would be Winslow's name flashing on the ticker.

I hope Taylor ROCKS Meshawn.

actually he was the best ever in the history of Florida. his 44 td's is a state record, and he led his team to the championship, and also added over 100 tackles on defense.

by the way, of his 44 TD's, 43 of them were rushing, 1 receiving, another record.

ST's two way playing is that rare talent that is already up there with the greatest. Sure his college/high school days are where those two way accomplishments are greatest, but it is very, very hard to do that with consitentcy, as he has done, on any level. You can run off list of players like Baugh, Jackson, Sanders, Thorpe, and you can see he's got the same tools! Yet he's only in his second with the Skins and that is an awesome future ahead of him!

Taylor was an excellent first pick by Gibbs and company. They got exactly what we needed in the draft. Taylor and Cooley in the same draft? Who would've thought they would be playing this well? I hope ST settles his off-field problems and we sign him to a long term contract.

Taylor's hit or non-hit on JJ reminds me of how important intimidation is-- which makes me start counting our beasts in the backfield: Springs, Rogers, Arrington, Taylor, Washington...even Bowen, Clarke, and Prioleau have their moments. Seems to me no one would want to play us if we had comparable hitters on the line.

The amazing thing about Taylor is that he's progressing so well and he's STILL the youngest player on the team. His potential is mouth watering, to think he is only 22 years of age.

How good can he become when he reaches his peak??

Another question to ask ............. Will the Skins resign him for the "Big Bucks". That will ALWAY have to be a concern.

I think he would definitely be worth it. He's a once in lifetime player, and I think we should do what ever we have to do to keep him in the Burgnady and Gold.

I think this guy is one of a kind...I'm so glad we picked him up. We should resign him now and get it out the way.....then it won't cause any issues....

I think we'll probally resign him after nex season since we did sign him to a 5 year contract i believe. But i as well hope he'll be a Redskin for the rest of his career since hes my favorite player and makes the D even more fun to watch because you want to see when hes gonna lay someone out next.

he is signed up until 2010. So he will be here for a long time. Now im just worried about the contract dispute that he had at the beginning of this season.

I could have had two or three interceptions, I left a few interceptions on the field, but it's all right.

To me this is unacceptable! It's not alright to miss interceptions. I liken that
to dropping TD passes.

You've got to take advantage of the opportunities as they come. Missed opportunities on D are a big reason our D is so poor at getting TOs. A couple
of key turnovers in a few games and we'd be sitting at possibly 10 - 3 right now.

I just hope he doesn't leave any interceptions on the field this week.

One of the interceptions in question was a spectacular play where Sean dove for a tipped ball, caught it fully extended, and it just hit his facemask when he hit the ground and popped out. He thinks he should have caught it, but no other safety in the league would have had a chance. ST leaving an INT on the field is like Barry Sanders leaving a long run out there because of a shoestring tackle. Sooner or later, he's gonna getcha.

In this past arizona game, something that really stuck out to me was when Taylor just missed putting a big hit on Fitzgerald, walking back to the huddle he was laughing with ST cause they both knew he almost knocked him out of the game, and Fitzgerald saw him coming and had to squirm out of the way to avoid the hit. That look on his face was priceless, like he just got a call form the governor sparing his life!!!

I've seen it a few times where players see ST coming and step out of bounds or "fall down" or "oops! I dropped the ball" freddie mitchell style. I can't even tell you how happy that makes me, as much as I love watching someone get crushed, I equally love watching someone get scared into making a mistake.

I saw that too. I wonder what Fitz said to him. Probably something along the lines of "your trying to kill someone out here aren't you"

Sean Taylor is nothing short of a freakin beast. One or two more years and he will be the best player in the National Football League. No doubt about it and wait till he gets his hands on that little guy terry glen on sunday, oh boy glen is gonna get it. But then again so is every dallas cowboy

Why'd you put that pic of Lavar there?First of all, it's a thread on ST.Second of all, That pic is WAY too big to be posting (at least I think...I'll have to make myself sure by reading the guidlines again).

Ok, the original guidelines don't say anything, but the pic was still unecessary IMO.

You really start to wonder...is this guy even freakin human? I mean he's so athletic, it seems like he's been playing at the safety position all his life yet he probably could have been a top 5 RB in this league...that is insane.
