"It is true that much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong," Bush said during his fourth and final speech before Thursday's vote for Iraq's parliament. "As president I am responsible for the decision to go into Iraq. And I'm also responsible for fixing what went wrong by reforming our intelligence capabilities

When the hell did this happen? There's no way this went through the proper channels and I expect a retraction by tomorrow at the latest!!

Why would he want to retract that? I would think it is a step in the right direction... Nobody accepts responsibility in this country and this is a positive as long as there is more to it than just a glorified "my bad".

It's clever. He doesn't actually take responsibility for anything, though he makes it seem like he does. He passes the buck to the intelligence agencies again.
Here is a question for every Bush defender: If the intelligence is what failed, why did President Bush give CIA Director George Tenet a Presidential Medal of Freedom?

Yes, it is clever. A little too clever for a C student, if I do say so.

While I'm not a Bush defender,it's just more proof of failed intelligence.

Just how many photos of GW's party days does the CIA have anyway?
Seriously though he gave the medals because he did not want the book deal that I am sure Tenet would have written about hwo he actually wasn't responsible for the intelligence gaffes.

LOL! I realized that once I saw the press conference. I thought maybe he got confused and admitted things that his advisors didn't want him to admit.

Why don't we ever discuss the fact that Cheney flunked out of college?

Why don't we ever discuss the fact that Cheney flunked out of college?Because when it comes to Dick Cheney people are too busy discussing his lies, his fondness for torture and apartheid and other sundry and tawdry details of his political career.
