RamseyForPres. wanted to share a story about Chris Coooooooooley......

Since he is getting all of this national attention after his amazing game i wanted to shed some insight with some of hte HR community about how great a person he really is.

Last year i went to Fed-Ex field for the Draft day party. As anyone who went there knows, they had a good set up where you could walk on the field, attempt a field goal and play this other game where you try to throw a football through a hole. (to put it crudely)

A friend of mine and I were out on the field after Rogers pick and before Campbells throwing a frisbee back and forth and this guy with his hat pulled down was just walking around next to me and he walked over to the football passing game. I look to my friend and was like "hey.....*points*...is that....you know.." and he was like "i think so"...

well basically Chris Cooley was walking around with the fans and no one really noticed who it was. Well i did so i walked over and was chatting with him for awhile. He is a really cool guy, i told him we wanted to see him try some of the games, but he was just laughing it off saying he didn't want to cut in front of anyone in line. We talked for about 10-15 minutes until a few other people noticed who he was and he started getting attention. He then walked back into the the locker room and outta there.

As i watch the videos on redskins.com and everywhere else about him off the field, paired with my interaction with him. i just wanted to say that he is a real down to earth person and clearly is not completely just caught in the hype of superstardom. Chris Cooley was absolutely the right choice in the draft adn we are all now seeing the dividends. He and Sean Taylor have already made last years draft one of the best in the league.

Thanks for the story, that is awesome to have a player act that way to the fans. It is nice to know that they are human, and not all of them have TO'ism

Cooley does seem really laid back. He sounds like he's pretty sarcastic when he was speaking to the reporters. We need to lock him up with a long term deal! :readme:

Anyone see the WP article on him today? Good stuff. I'd find a link but I'm tired, going to bed.

Great story RFP!

I'll never forget Terrance Newman just bouncing off Cooley like a fly off an elephant!

It is so cool to watch a guy like CC have the kind of game he had in a rivalry like this because this kid is going to be a part of at least a couple dozen games versus the Cowboys before it's all said and done with him.

He's going to be a fan favorite for years and years in DC and with good reason. Can't wait to see this guy in the Pro Bowl this year (he finished as leading vote getter for FBs). Great job Chris, I'm incredibly psyched to see just how much better you can actually get!

He's definently a Pro Bowl caliber player. I think that if he was listed @ TE, he would've really given Shockey a run for his money.

Cooley seems to have that aire about him. I am glad to hear it from someone who actually meet him. He was the right pick...

Yeah Shockey's name recognition would have won him the overall TE vote from the fans but I think Cooley still would have made it as a TE as well. He is first in the NFC in catches for a tight end, third in yards, and second in receptions. I think Jason Witten needs to thank the NFL for listing Cooley as a FB because if they hadn't then he would be at home instead of Hawaii this year.

CC's demeanor during the post-game interviews was very down-to-earth. Like if one of us was up there. Refreshing, actually.
