View Full Version : Saturday Game Predictions...

Okay, everyone put in how you think the game is going to play out. Whether it's score, a general gist of it (it's going to be smashmouth between Portis and Barber or it's all defensive, etc...), players roles, etc... Here's my thoughts:

A very close game, well fought with two balanced teams. I expect Tiki to get back to his normal "can't run against Washington" mentality and get less then 3 yards/carry. Eli will get confused and lots of miscues due to the noise and confusing blitzes and coverages the GW sends his way. Expect to see more Shockey and Toomer as they try to exploit Harris vs. Toomer as opposed to Springs vs. Burress. Probably some Shockey in the flats, trying to get favorable LB vs. Shockey matches. But overall, expect Eli to make serious mistakes and for the running game to be slightly ineffective.
As far as Washington on offense... Portis I expect will continue his 100 yd+ pace and post enough so that the 1500 yard mark is within grasp by the end of the year. A little mix up with Betts and Cartwright, with mixed results. But overall, I see this as the Portis big game. I expect Brunell to be effective but not specticular. A good rating with a couple of big catches by Moss, random secondary receivers catches with mixed results and Cooley coming up with a solid game, but not like last game. NY will most likely blitz the right side, testing Ray Brown and stacking the box. I expect JG to expect this, and counter with screens and misdirection plays. One more time for the flea flicker... Anyways, that's just my humble opinion...

For whatever reason I feel like Tiki always runs on us?

I just predict a battle of biblical proportions and the Redskins somehow win. I predict the crowd will be frenzied into insanity and even louder than the last game...

There was a time I said and thought the 12th man was dead... While we are not where I want us to be yet, I think last week was a shot of adrenaline for fans every where! I saw people going nuts on Sunday... the same types of people who normally sit quietly and watch the game!

The beast within has been awakened! It is time to make FedEx an actual home field once and for all!

The Skins win, but could be close. The 12th Man wins it for us again. My biggest concern is the loss of Thomas and how that will effect the running game.

Banged up Giants vs an emotionally charged Redskins=REDSKINS VICTORY!!!!
That whole team is banged up and all the Skins need to do is STOP TIKI and do as they did last week and get to Eli early and offen. GO SKINS BEAT THE GIANTS!!!

Saturday's game needs to be a repeat of last Sunday. WE HAVE to start fast - get the crowd LOUD and stay on top of them. But if Tiki goes over 100 and Eli is given time - We Are Done - Bottomline.

I think everyone needs to keep in mind - The Giants realize they are in a playoff battle too and you KNOW they aren't looking past us.

Skins will need to change their tendencies on defense as the Giants game planned for that the first go round with major success.

Word was Pierce explained that Washington always practices against a opponents top 5 plays and the Giants avoided those plays early and blew up the Skins run defense.

Skins must also avoid as they have recently, over pursuing the ball carrier and giving up the long cut back run. Brunnell must not put the ball on the ground when faced with the pressure the Giants defensive ends will most certainly put on him.

Skins will need to stay away from any type of let down from beating Dallas twice in the same season.

I would also play Moss on punt returns as this game is the season.

If last weeks pass rush shows up along with the Fed Ex crowd which seemed raucous on TV, this should be a great game.

Congrats on the Dallas win and good luck this week.
Anyone who makes the Play-Offs in the NFC has a good shot to reach the Championship game.

21-14 Skins. Tiki will get a score and 100 yards but be relatively contained. GW will confuse and attack Eli and Lavar will come back and play like a man possessed.

I think that Tiki Barber is the most underrated running back in the NFL. He has taken on more of a Brian Westbrook role this year whether it be running or catching, plus he's an excellent blocker. The way we win this game? Take Tiki Barber out of the offense. Stop Tiki, and we stop the Giants. A lot easier said than done, but this is what has to happen.

35-7? Maybe not, but I think it will be around the 28-21 win from behind. The crowd will force some false starts again, and the Defense will get more ampted up because of it.

I stopped predicting during the skid. I really have no inkling as to what will happen.

Going to be a tough hard fought close game. If we stop Tiki and win the turnover battle we win. If we don't we lose. Coughlin has done a great job in NY. I just wish the media would quit giving Eli all this credit and recognize the more important Barber and coach Coughlin. They have been more vital to the team's success.

the old cliche is true here. this game will be deternined by how well we run and how well we stop their running. This will be emphasized by the health or lack of on both sides. They have a banged up DT position(joseph doubtful) and a banged up bad O-line. Their o-line seemed to play well against KC, but in reality they had many chances to stop TIKI short but had horrible tackling on all levels. this made them look better than they realllly were. Totally different story against us.

And as important is how well we can run the ball, everything we do revolves around this. If we can run well between the tackles that forces their D to crowd the line and DE's to pinch in and not speed rush. Opening up all the things Gibbs likes to do IE screens to Moss, and Cooley.

I do not predict outcomes in the NFL, but can tell you for certain these battles will determine the game.

If TIKI runs crazy we loose. If we are forced to drop back and throw down feild alot we loose.

I feel like this game will be more intense than any game played at fedex thus far, both teams are playing at the top of their game right now. Tiki will have success, in my opinion he is the best back in the NFC and probably a good candidate for MVP of the league. The numbers don't lie and neither does his performance against us in NYC. With that being said, we have to get into Eli's head because I see Tiki having about 125 and a TD or 2, good but not enough to beat us single handedly. I hope Im wrong about Barber but the guy has been going crazy this season against all the teams theyve played. No one has stopped him consistently for 60 minutes. I see Eli making mistakes as long as we come out with pressure like we did aganst the boys because eli moves just about as well as bledsoe.

Offensively, I think Portis goes off and in a big way. This is his game to justify the star status in the league that he covets so badly. With the loss of Thomas I think the line puts the weight on this game on their shoulders and get revenge for the butt whooping earlier this season, but Thomas' loss will be a big motivational factor. Ray Brown can play, he's not randy, but he'd easily start at guard for many teams. Like most people, I expect Brunell to have a solid game- managing type performance with a couple well run screens to portis, moss, and cooley fr about 200 yards total, maybe a TD. But I think this game belongs to Portis, Betts and the O line.

Gonna be a nail-biter, Skins 31-21

Totally different story against us. Very good point. KC's tackling was miserable against the Giants and we need to make sure we tackle better. Make Eli beat us and stop their run. Our corners and overall secondary need to have a strong game because I think we're going to crowd the line of scrimmage for all intents and purposes.

I believe in my heart of hearts that we will not dominate this game as much as we would like to but we will prevail as the winner. This team completely disrespected us the last time we played and payback is essential. I see the passing game as our key to win this game. I think Portis and Tiki will have similar production which will both cancel each other out but I see our passing game with Moss, Cooley and hopefully Thrash stepping up to have good production this week. I also think special teams will play a major role this week as far as establishing good starting field position for us and terrible starting field position for them. I was wrong last week when I predicted a win but a close game with the Cowboys but I`m going to state it again this week. A close game but our SKINS win 20-13. Hail to the Redskins!!!

Our tackling against them was not much better.

It is a revenge game for the Redskins. Many of them were (or at least should have been) embarrassed by that performance (IMO it was the worst by a Gibbs coached team). They didn't show up. I liked that there was no joking around or playing before dallass... they just got in and got the job done. End of story.

Ray Brown, Holdman, Harris, Taylor, Moss, Cooley, Royal, Samuels, Brunell...

They all have something to prove.

We are going to destroy the giants in Fed ex on Saturday. We got our tails handed to us the last time that we played and this time is revenge. They were on an emotional high last time and we didn't even show up. Now the tables is turned. We just beat Dallas huge at the house and the Giants are next on the menu. We have way too much riding on this game. The players understand this greatly. Look for a perfect game from our guys across the board.

That would be awesome, but they are at home. Those unis are are great, and we keep winning with them. They could wear the same thing as last Sunday, but don't wash them, lol.

such an importtant issue with regards to their emotions last game. they have been playing on a high for weeks because of the events in the franchise they are due for a let down and they wont have that emotion this week.

LETS ROLL!!!!!

I have to be honest with you guys. With the talent that this Redskins football team possesses, a 12th man showing like last week, and the circumstances in which we are faced and the momentum to get into the playoffs, we should be UNSTOPPABLE AT HOME no matter who we play!

LET'S GO SKINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

I agree, we might see a big drop off in our running game and it is going to hurt. I hope gibbs figures something out to compensate for the loss of thomas. This game is going to be a battle, nothing like that dallas game.

Like every game, the key is turnovers and winning the battle at the line of scrimmage. dallass got outclassed in both areas and thus they were blown out. If the Giants are not prepared for our volume, then hopefully we'll get some of the same results.

The last game I posted that we should not forget about Tiki...and apparently we did. This game I hope we dont forget about shockey and toomer, I think these guys will step up in this game. toomer will be match up against harris so there is considerable size advantage and if lavar doesnt play, shockey could be a problem if matched agaist holdman. We should run the ball early and often to get get osi and stay tired a lil bit. strahan lost some weight to be more agile but this doesnt necessairly make him better against the run. Osi also is one of those tweener DEs who can play DE and LB but could have problems against the run plus they're depleted in the middle with joseph and pierce likely out.
I like the skins' chances on this one because their o-line is banged and our dline has started to get some push in the middle in particular with salave'a and griffin finally healthier than ever since the beginning of the season.

Agreed. To that end, I'd love to see Portis pop a couple like Tiki did to us.

Bingo!!!!

We have a pretty good offense when we do not turn the ball over.
