This week The World’s Most Prestigious Power Poll gets even better. Now, I know what you’re thinking: How could the best thing ever committed to wood, stone, paper, or cyberspace possibly get any better? Let me answer that two ways. Firstly, how dare you question me, puny mortal? Secondly, we’ve got awards awards awards! Who are the top contenders for MVP, Rookie of the Year, Head Coach of the Year, and Worst Combover of the Year? The answers to those questions can be found below…
01. Indianapolis Colts [13-1]: One good thing about the Colts losing is that at least I don’t have to hear about it anymore. [NC]
02. Cincinnati Bengals [11-3]: Cincinnati ’s offense is every bit as balanced as the Colts offense. The difference right now is in the quality of defense. The Bengals create takeaways like nobody else, but they’re vulnerable to any good offense that knows how to hang on to the ball. [NC]
03. Seattle Seahawks [12-2]: Got a brief scare courtesy of Steve McNair, but hang on for their tenth straight victory. These guys can score like Chris Cooley. Yes, I mean it that way. [NC]

Good stuff.
It pains me...but I think Tiki should be added to the MVP list. This guy is a huge reason why the Giants have 10 wins right now. Take him away from New York, and I don't see Eli getting the job done by himself.

Maybe it's is his brother or something, but up to this point, I haven't been overly impressed with Eli. In the 3rd quarter against the Chiefs, Eli proceeded to call not 1 but 2 timeouts and then threw a hideous intereception. I haven't seen a series of qb decisions that poor in awhile. We need to pound the Giants and little Eli into oblivion come Saturday.

Awesome read! (Always better after a win)
IF, and this is a HUGE if, the Skins won the NFC East, I'd have to put him there for coach of the year. This team doesn't have a lot of talent and was picked to finish dead last by most.
Its good to see Nick Saban's Dolphins get some love. That team was not picked by many to get to 4 wins.

Especially since as the games get more important, Eli plays worse and Tiki plays better.

He could break into the top three of the MVP list if he tears up the Redskins on Saturday. Lord, I hope that doesn't happen.

This was pretty funny. The only thing that I disagree with you on is that I think KC is worse than where you have them listed. They cannot win on the road and they cannot stop anybody.

Good stuff Spence!
It's nice to see the Skins back in the top 15.
Personally, I think the Patriots are the best team (that doesn't have a horseshoe on their helmet) and will beat any of the AFC Teams you ranked above them, in the playoff's, other than #1 and even that is a possibility.

Merriman might just be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year.
Can someone remind my WHY we passed on him .......... :whoknows:

Merriman might just be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year.
Can someone remind my WHY we passed on him .......... :whoknows:
1) For Carlos Rogers.
2) He's a tweener, more of a 3-4 OLB and we didn't need another OLB
3) We needed a CB after Smoot's departure.
I can't really blame the FO for that one. Merriman is good but Carlos is turning out to be a baller too.

AGAIN .............. why did we pass on Merriman.
Don't get me wrong - Carlos will be a solid player in a year or two BUT Merriman would have made a big difference on this D.

I haven't seen Merriman play, but from what limited action Carlos has seen, he is the real deal. I wouldn't trade him for any other d-back in the draft and probably no other defensive player. I don't know that Merriman would have been used the way we'd all like to see him used... but maybe I am wrong.

As a DE during pass rush situation, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I just don't know that he could be an every down DE. He can play every down in a 3-4, but I'm not so sure about a 4-3. Too much uncertainty there, IMO.

Right! I was furious when ESPN said "Eli Manning lead the Giants to victory over the Redskins." By going 12-32? I don't think so. Tiki is the unquestioned leader of that team and I think Eli has the easiest QB job in the entire NFL.
I too yelled at sunday's game so much that I had a two-day headache.
i gave myself a migraine screaming too...the only downside to that game.

As we sure that the tasty beverages didn't have anything to do with the headache? :)
As for yelling into a headache, us Excedrin. Take it before, during and after the game. It works like a charm. ;)

After a while my brain hurt every time I yelled but I kept doing it anyway. As far as the next day goes, beverages certainly didn't help.

OMG! I could barely walk after the game. Once I got back to my Jeep and set-up (for tailgating) I was able to relax and felt better while relishig in the victory...
But I felt like someone split my head with an axe! And I had ONE (count 'em) one beer.

Tiki is having a great year but take out the games against the Chiefs (220 yds rushing, there had to be about 80 yards that we just given to Tiki because of poor tackling) and the game against us (200 yds w/out Giff) and he is averaging about 90 yards a game... which is still good but not MVP numbers....
furthermore he has only 8 TDs for the year....which once again is a good rushing total but not MVP type numbers....when you look at LT's 17 TDs, Larry Johnson's 16 TDs (only started 7 games...WOW!), or Alexanders 24 TDs (3 mores ties the record)....
so yeah Tiki is the heart and soul of the Giants right now, but he is not deserving of MVP talk...IMO

The reason he's so hyped is because he plays in NY.I absolutely hate that he gets praised every tome he completes a pass.I also totally disagree with the comparisons to Peyton...THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!The guy is over-hyped for a 2nd year player. He will have a pretty nice career IMO, but he's not meant to shine right now.
BTW Spence...Awesome read!
