How fitting it was that veteran defensive Phillip Daniels came up with his four sacks against the Dallas Cowboys. Daniels became linked with two former Redskins who are among the biggest Cowboy nemeses of all time.
When Daniels produced four of the Redskins' seven sacks in Sunday's 35-7 thrashing of the Cowboys at FedExField, he tied Washington's single-game record. Dexter Manley had four sacks versus the Giants in 1988; Diron Talbert had done so against the same team in 1975.
During their careers, both Manley and Talbert professed a distaste for all things related to the Cowboys. As such, they were their Darrell Armstrongs of their day. Manley is expected to be on hand Saturday when the Redskins host the NFC East-leading New York Giants in the most significant regular-seasons contest ever played at FedExField.
Sunday night's seven-sack performance by the Redskins pushed their sack total to 30 for the season, one more than their opponents. Last year, the Redskins totaled 38 sacks on their way to the No. 3 defensive rating in the NFL.
For his efforts, Daniels was named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week.

Good for Daniels! Without a doubt the most dominating defensive performance I've seen by a Redskins lineman in my life.

Cooley should get it for offensive player of the week.

With 220 yards rushing, I think Tiki Barber had than sewn up before Sunday even started.

My wife told me that it was Daniel's son's birthday and he promised him a sackin the game.
My question is whose birthday is it on Saturday that we can get the same promise!?

Yep.
Well deserved award for Phillip Daniels, I hope he can be as disruptive this week.
Congrats to Daniels! Great game, please bring it to the Giants on Saturday.

He imposed his will on the " Cowgirls". Let's hope he can put some pressure on precious Eli.

Great for Philip and for this rivalry.
I got the opportunity to meet Daniels on Monday Night Live at Fairoaks Mall last night and give him the praise he deserved for his huge game. He got a huge ovation from the crowd at the bar.
I got on TV and got a picture with Kelly Johnson and Shawn Springs. Fun night.
Kelly Johnson = WOW!

I think the D-line plays so much better with Griffin in there. Daniels deserved a good day.

Congrats to the Big Man!! How could he NOT have gotten this award, when he pounded Bledsoe's skull into the turf for 60 minutes?!?

Great job Phillip Daniels. Way to dominate and introduce yourself to Mr. Bledsoe. Now, continue this resurgence against the Giants and become the force week in and week out that we saw Sunday. Awesome game man.

It was as good a Defensive end performance as I have seen in years for the Skins.

Cooley should get it for offensive player of the week. That would be awesome and I would love to see it, but that award is definetely going to Mr. Barber as has been suggested. He single handedly beat the non-tackling Chiefs on Saturday much to our chagrin.

Yeah, the sacks don't happen that often but the guy is completely underrated vs the run. He's a stalwart defender v. run. I'm very happy for him to at least get his week to shine. Hopefully he keeps his game changing status the rest of the year.. We sure as hell need it. Nice time to step up PD.HTTR.

Perhaps the Kansas City Defense should get the NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

i honestly have no idea why he would not win this. 4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, a pass deflection and 5 tackles. That is a monster game. My question is, who posed as Daniels last Sunday. Who really wore #93?

Anyone else see the play where he sacked Bledsoe with one arm while taking an offensive lineman down with him?

Oh, they were offensive alright. But I have to watch what I say here. Tiki also posted over 200 against us the last time we met. I mean, I like Tiki, but he's not Walter Payton. Add in that last year the Gints had one of the worst OL, and now they're one of the best? I still think their OL is more like a rice cake than a rock. We just have to find the soft spots.

Although Cooley did a great impression of the Tiki Barber TD where NO ONE on the Chiefs D could stop him..... Terence Newman getting started down by Parcells was priceless.
