Sorry for the rant but I needed to get this out before I strangle someone. I am having a Home built by US Homes and everything that can go wrong is going wrong. The foundation has been up since April and we still have to wait till September to move in.

First they painted my house the wrong color. They painted it this really ugly grey, I have no idea where they got that from. Then the plumber quite so that pushed us back, then the plumbers quit again (this is before they have even touched my house as we are moving in a new subdivision). I have no idea what they are doing to plumbers to make them quit lol.

I keep getting the run around with the dam US homes rep. The latest headache is they put our brick around another house. Its not actually on the house yet, but if I would have not caught it that would have been a huge mess. I know its ours because the house next to us just went up last month. ARRGH!

OUCH! :smash: :banghead:

That's a bumer! And I am willing to bet that they have you tied up as to what you can do to get the situation corrected.
Just hang in there and keep letting them know how aggravated you are.

We had a problem with the closing. They had told us that we could move in on the 21st of Feb. back in 2001. Well, I told the apartment manager that we'd be out on the 21st. The NIGHT before, at 9 pm, the realitor called us up and said that it would be the 25 before we could close. It seems the lawyer had scheduled two closing on the same day at the same time. And for some reason we were the ones that had to wait. Well, I only had the truck rented for the following day. The truck was half loaded and someone was moving into our apartment the next evening. The apartment manager already had the paint in the living room so he could repaint the walls.

We had to find a place for storage and rerent the truck. I told the realitor that someone should help us with the cost of storage and renting a truck again. Close to $200 extra dollars we had to dish out. At first they said no. they finally agreed to go halves.

So Tex, I feel your pain bro! I know how stressful it is trying to move into a new house. You'll love it though. There's nothing like it owning your own home.

Tell them forget it, you dont want the hoem anymore:cussing:

I feel the pain Tex. I didn't have that problem with my house, but the pool i did. It was four years ago when we got alot of rain and they excavated for the pool. So I had this big friggin huge hole in my back yard, they could not put the pool in until it was dry but everytime it started to dry out, it rained again. So, eff it, i decided to go to KMart and get like three tarps and covered the damn hole. Imagine that, taking tarps on and off a hole. Finally the hole gets dry enough for the pool place to come and put the pool in. It is a 15 by 32 above ground oval with a wood deck around the whole pool. So they finally got it up, i got home from work, and they put the friggin pool up crooked! The contracter would not build the deck until the pool was taken down and put up right. AREGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Thanks Tex for allowing me to bring all that anger back up! ;)

LOL thanks for the stories guys ...makes me feel better.
I went with U.S. Homes because in my town we have slim pickings on builders and U.S. was one of the better ones,or so I was lead to believe. To this day they still refuse to put a closing date in writing. :(

This happened to a buddy of mine. But his "closing date" was in a contract. The house wasnt ready on time and every day that it wasnt, the builder paid a pro-rated mortgage payment to the bank. The builders finished about a month and a half late so while it was a burden not moving in on time at least he didnt have to pay for something he didnt have. Maybe this is why builders wont put a closing date in a contract, maybe my friend just got lucky. Hope it all works out Tex.

seeway just reminded me of something else that went on with our house after we moved in. I had my wife follow me to get my oil changed and some other minor work on my truck. She dropped me off back at our house before she went out shopping. Well, about an hour later I let our dog out. Guess what I see? The friggen contractors that built our house was using MY water spicket to run a water hose to the neighbors house! Come to find out they had been doing that for two week while we were at work. Our water bill was almost $50 dollars the first month. Its normally around $8 dollars. They paid that bill after we had to threaten them.....

Friggen morons.
