I hope those NFC Champion T-Shirts that the giants brought to our house had the date on them.

Well written article. You are right on target with the CHARACTER element.
That is what is going to make our team dangerous in the playoffs, knowing what it takes and going out to execute it [and execute the opponents into oblivion].

Excellent article CNY. You basically summed up my thoughts on our streak, our current play, and our very likable team.
Boy oh boy do I want Oakland to beat NY. I don't care by how much, just as long as it happens. Also I don't think its too far fetched. NY is beat up and they play dreadful on the road. They also have to fly the length of North America to do it. I would not be shocked by a Oakland victory and that would just make my day. Also, I would LOVE to play Tampa Bay in the post. We owe them a stomping and I still feel that we made them look very good that day. We are a different team now and we exposed their defense once and we would do it again if given the opportunity. I'm not sure how the seeding would go if all went right but that is how I would like to see it play out. Perhaps to play Tampa we would both have to advance to the second round?
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

Great article CNY, this is a great team, in every aspect. We are the underdogs, with players that will not quit. Individual stats don't matter. Team oriented. I love it.

Good write-up CNY. It is all about the Skins team and character which is why I love this team so much and Gibbs has done an amazing job of forming that specific team. We need to handle Philly tomorrow and root like wild animals for the Raiders tonight. Should be fun.

Good article, CNY. I agree that this team has undeniable character and spunk, led by, in my opinion, Marcus Washington. He always looks like he's having a great time and is just having an awesome season. I'm finally proud to be a Skins fan, and that this year, no matter the outcome tomorrow, that we are the class of the NFC East.

LOL IT MUST BE SAD FOR THE SAINTS>.>
They never win big games. I laughed when they made that crazy play only to loose their playoff hopes with john carney missing the pat.

Thanks CNYSkinsfan!

I hope we don't play down to Philly like we did to AZ. That pissed me off to no end. We should have blown them out, and we ended up winning by 4 points. I don't want this to happen up in Philly.

Also, if the Skins take the division, don't you wish the T-shirts have "NY Giants" on them as well as the date? If that happens and they do, I am sure the Skins fans would be glad to buy the whole batch and wear them at FedEx whenever the Giants come to town. I know I would want one. Maybe two, wear one and use the other one as toilet paper.

To be fair, the team played well in Arizona. Cooley just dropped a pass and Brunell had a terrible half. Otherwise, it might've been 28-13.

Hope that is not over-confidence on your part. More important, I hope the Skins players are not over-confident.
While the Eagles offense has been depleted by injuries, their defense can still play well if it wants to. And, you know that Philly would want nothing better than ruining the Skins season. A couple of turnovers by the Skins can be fatal. Remember, this same Eagles team took the Giants to overtime just a couple of weeks ago. Having said that, I think the Skins defense has a really good chance to shut down the Eagles and win the game. Washington just needs to focus and play hard. Most of all, no turnovers and no over-confidence.

ok, I hope they don't play down to Philly for half the game. The defense played great that game, but they have been for most of the season.

That is the key to the whole game. If we follow those two guidelines, we will do fine in the game.

Great job, CNY, as usual. I do have a question about the playoff pairings. Since you seem to be more knowledgeable about this stuff than just about anyone, you are the man to ask.
Assuming the Skins win the division and thus are the 4th seed, do you know whether the Giants or the Panthers would be the 5th seed? It seem like that their conference records are the same and they didn't play each other. The reason I ask is that I don't really want to face NY in the first round even if the game were here. The Giants are a much tougher out than Carolina, and it would be difficult to beat a same good team twice within three weeks. So, if the Giants are the 5th seed and the Panthers the 6th seed, 4th seed is not a good place to be.
On the other hand, if the Skins get in as the 6th seed, they would most likely open the playoffs in Tampa. I regard the Bucs as a fraud and an easy out even in Tampa. And, I want payback for that bogus win they had against the Skins in Nov. In this scenario, the Giants and the Skins would both advance to play Chicago and Seattle respectively.
I know most Skins fan would regard it as sacrilege to not want to win the division, and a big part of me feels the same way. But, a little part of me tells me that not winning the division may actually work out better for our team.
I am wondering if Cincy and NE will be playing a little game this weekend of trying to avoid the 3rd seed, which has to host Pittsburg. It would be much more advantageous to get the 4th seed and host the Jaguars, another fraud.

Well I'm not CNY but maybe i can help with these scenarios as well. If we win the 4th seed then we would end up hosting the NYG most likely based upon the strength of victory tiebreaker As it currently sits the NYG have a SOV of .447 whereas carolina has one of .400.

Thanks for the info, RFP. This is exactly what I was afraid of. It seems to put a damper on winning the division by the Skins.

Unless Carolina and Tampa both win. thenb we will host one of them as they will have 11-5 records and Giants will have 10-6.
So If we win the divison by the Redskins winning over Eagles and the Giants lose to Oakland we would get the #4 seed and host the #5 seed.
IF Carolina beats Atlanta AND Tampa Beats New Orleans OR if Carolina, Tampa, and Dallas all lose, OR if Carolina & Dallas Lose and Tampa wins then Tampa would win the South and be the #3 seed and Carolina with an 11-5 record would be the #5 seed and NY Giants with a 10-6 record would be the #6 seed. Cowboys would be eliminated in the #7 spot.
IF Carolina loses to Atlanta AND Dallas Beats St. Louis then Tampa wins the South by default and will be the #3 seed. Ny Giants will be the #5 seed and the Cowboys will be the #6 seed
IF Carolina beats Atlanta AND Tampa loses to New Orleans then Carolina wins the NFC South and will be the #3 seed. Tampa and NY would be up in the air because SOV would be determined on the final weekend.

Lot of good it does now.
Let me just say Norv Turner is a complete fool. The raiders allow Tiki to amass almost 200 yards rushing and much more on pass plays. He is the #1 option on the Giants didn't you know he would get the ball an few times? And then he gets the ball on the 1 with four downs and runs the ball four times in a row without Lamont Jordan on IR and keeps Randy Fin Moss on the sideline each play.
Norv Turner should be banned from Coaching pee wee football next year.

I think Norv lost count of how many times they failed because I would think you would stop after 3 times it didn't work. What a moron. What is more stupid is that they needed two scores to win, so they needed at least a FG anyways.

And they burned 2 TOs and lost a third on a challenge in that segment as well.
then with the ball on the 1 foot line the Raiders have a chance at causing a safety and then getting the ball back and they go off=sides.
Raiders....how in hell did we lose to them?

We as Redskins know how they lost, Norv Turner. That was another better decisions that Snyder did when he bought the team. We were underachieving every year with him as our HC.
