They had a cute little piece on Comcast Sportsnet tonight with the players that we got from the Jets. Rich Cook asked each of them had they learned the words to 'Hail to the Redskins' and not one of them knew the words.
As a matter of fact, only one of them had even heard of 'Hail to the Redskins'.

It was sorta funny because LaVar Arrington said that there were 11 goal posts in the area and that if they did not learn it by a certain time, he said 'we all know what's gonna happen'. Thought that was kinda funny.

In my mind, they're not. Not yet. It's the reason why I wouldn't by a Coles jersey, or for that matter, a Candidate, Thomas, or Upshaw jersey.

After a couple years on the team, they'll be integrated, fully part of it. They'll hate the Cowboys and won't start yelling J-E-T-S each time they score. That's when I'll think of them as real Redskins.

I can't think of any of the new guys that have played against the Skins at FedEx or RFK, so that is understandable to a degree.

Having said that however, Thomas, Morton and Canidate were at the draft day party at the stadium, and I do recall us playing it a few times that day while they were around, so it should sound sorta familiar to them, if only just a tad bit.

Their Redskins as soon as they play a regular season game. I guess it's a play on words as to what everyone would consider "real" Redskins. Or I guess it's the same as "true" Redskins, my opinion is that it will take time and they'll have to win over and grow on the fans first.

I don't think it matters if they know the song or not. They are Redskins. As soon as they put on the B&G, they became Redskins in my book.

But, I did see the same show and it was kinda pathetic to see these guys say that crap. Hamdan actually sang it.....I wish he hadn't though.....dude can't sing...

I agree with Carmike if they are wearing the B&G they are Skins except Deion, he never was or could he ever be a Skin

Well, I saw that piece on Comcast, and I was concerned that SMOOT #21 had that "nervous laugh" and admitted that HE didn't really know the song all that well. That was kinda sad, yet new QB Hamden song the whole first stanza. Well, he's a local kid, so I guess I can understand that, but Smoot................

:D Coles may learn HTTR , everytime he touches the ball. BUT, I'll he humming Pink Floyds, "Money" every time Hall "Shanks and Clanks" and Thomas causes Ramsey to see more stars than Galiaeo when giving up sacks this year! With the big $ that Snyder gave him lining Thomas' pockets, He might just become Fat, Dumb, and Lazy! He be the King of the "Look Out Block"

I was thinking of this very same Deion exception as I scrolled through the thread. He was the only Skin that I had heard several of our own fans wish an injury on.... I may have chimed in as well once or twice... damned Cowboy.
