Kelli Johnson just reported that SS had a different type of rehab last night and feels better than he has in 3 weeks. She said its up to GW in terms of playing time.

This is excellent news. Springs is the linchpin of our defense. When he is out, GW is limited in what he can do in the way of pressure packages.

Are we really going to be this close to 100% tomorrow? This is unbelievable, and I am so happy. This becoming the best week to be a Skins fan. Playoffs.William resigning.Springs playing. WOW.

Awesome news. Tampa had been preparing all week to play without Springs in there and he will be in alot of it. I feel better about the game just because of this. Great to hear.

Who is Kelli Johnson? A local reporter?
Also, I'm not so sure he'll play. According to John Clayton (ESPN), he's not expected to play. It may be the case that Gibbs and/or G. Williams is purposely misleading the Bucs defense.

Gibbs hasn't done that all year, and I don't think he would start because it is the playoffs. This isn't the Patriots that were talking about.

If Springs plays, having Rogers, Springs & Harris will be huge. This should let us go after Simms all night long. Gibbs karma! Hail To The Redskins!

Kelli Johnson is ALL over Redskins Park. I trust her before I would trust John Clayton. She just has access that he doesn't have. She's an excellent local sports reporter for Comcast Sportsnet if you ask me.

Of course, one can never really know. However, for example, Rogers has been listed as questionable for the last few weeks, even though probably should have been listed as doubtful or out (because he has not played the last few weeks). Also, a few weeks ago Rogers was listed as probable at the beginning of the week and then downgraded to questionable a day or two before the game. Just think that Gibbs might want to keep others guessing.
More important, Clayton of ESPN has stated that Springs is NOT expected to play; while Kelli Johnson (still don't know who she is......help me out somebody), according to the lead post on this thread, says only that he has had a good rehab, but not whether Springs will play.

LMAO! How about before the Dallass game? LaVar and Carlos Rogers were listed as "Probable" on Wednesday, then downgraded as "Questionable" on Friday and neither played on Sunday. "Probable" is 75% likelihood of playing and "Questionable" is 50%. Neither one was anywhere NEAR 75% likely to play against Dallass. Carlos has been "Questionable" every week since, lol.
Gibbs plays that game as well as anyone.

Aren't there rules against deception through the injury report? I thought the league was told to look for it a few years ago. Maybe it was another sport?
Shawn will be a BIG blow to the bucs if he can go. I'll be giddy if he is geared up tomorrow!

Williams has said yes to becoming the redskins Head coach after JOE JOE decides to step down. We are in the Playoff's. Won 5 straight. Sweep the COwboys, and the Eagles. Show Eli whats up. As close to 100 percent health as you can hope this far in the season (no Randy, and springs isn't perfect, but close).

That is GREAT news however it isnt a gaurantee that Springs will play. Even if he is just in for passing downs I will feel better, obviously I would feel much better if he was in for all downs as he is a great tackler against the run. Springs and Rogers dont miss many tackles, although Harris has improved a lot in his tackling. Anyway, this is excellent news, Hail to the Skins!

Gregg Williams never said such a thing. GW said they would cross that bridge if it comes. Saying he would be the next HC would get the Redskins slammed under NFL rules.

Do you believe in miracles?WHAT???? GW didn't say yes to becoming the Redskins coach after Gibbs. You didn't hear that and don't start rumors around here. We don't need that.
As for Springs, GW said it's a game time decision.

What other teams can think and what they can PROVE are two different things. Gibbs offset the LaVar and Rogers thing by listing Samuels and Salave'a (I think) as "Probable" and then both of them played.
In any event, Gibbs has always pushed the envelope with league rules. Bubba Tyer is a friggin' guru too. Do you really think that Stan Humphies' "blood disorder" was so dire that he had to go on IR all year? It never seemed to bother him after Gibbs left or when he was leading San Diego to the Superbowl. Gibbs used the IR as his personal practice squad, lol.
I'd check on how Manuel White was doing in October too. ;)

Even if Shawn was not feeling his best, he would give this defense an even greater boost. The report seemed sincere and Comcast Sportsnet has access to the Redskins like I've never seen. Plus this is the Redskins Playoff Edition of Sportsnight so I feel good about the report.

If Shawn is alright, then I want him to play but if it's another deal where he tries to play and can't, then I don't like taking a roster spot from a healthy player. I don't want a repeat of last week, where we are looking for anybody with a pulse to play Corner.

GW is common sense and will know if Shawn's just going with gut checked pride as opposed to the actual ability to cut, jump, fall and get up, impacted on hits. He wouldn't say he'd give him reps, if he didn't have Sellers, Cooley, and Thrash test running him a few times, to include a few pop blocks from Dockery.
No need to fake it at this point, JG absolutely, unequivically will not accept it!
