What happened to the radical new treatment? Thanks Kelli Johnson.

I saw the crawl on the bottom of ESPN too, but it said 'Springs not expected to play'. Have they updated/changed that?

We'll be ok w/out him Ade has improved a ton, Rogers is back, S. Taylor will be back there scarying WR's, Cornelius Griffin giving more of a pass rush, and G. Williams has been preparing for this scneario all year.

Does anyone know of Brunell's condition? I was wondering if the knee was bothering him anymore.

I dont think Clayton has been following the team as close as ComcastSportsNet has. My money is on the local coverage.
is it bad that i'm actually more at ease with Jimoh than Harris? :whoknows:

Clayton was saying this 15 minutes after Kelli Johnson was reporting this last night. I'm going to wait for the game to start till i'm sure.
In other words, I don't think Clayton knows what he's talking about. He's probably still going off of old news.
Hopeful thinking on my part...
EDIT: Didn't see you post PA Skins Girl. But I agree with you 100%

he wasn't on the injury report at all, so i would take that to mean that he's fine.

I must need eyeglasses as my vision right now seems to suck. Where's the smiley face smoak? Aren't you missing some type of smiley icon to let me know you're just kidding?
I really, really hope you're right smoak. Really!

Nothing new. Except, I didn't realize we scored an average of a full TD more per game this season compared to last season. Pretty huge improvement.

Scoring 101 points in our last 3 games helped out a lot.

ESPN (11:11 a.m.) reporting that Joe Gibbs said he "does not expect SS to play." Looks like the local coverage gave us a little false hope.

Seeing as reports are true, it is a not a letdown and in fact, thank God, they all at least have played more than sparingly, started, know the stakes and both have gained confidence. Harris still plays at highest level, though not as the fastest on the field. ST, Clark, Marshall, roving LA and Grif (aha, just threw that in there to make it interesting :) )

I am with you. ESPN is probably going on Thursday news. I will take local over national news on this one.

I can't say that I am surprised by this. Getting Rogers back helps. Christian Morton will have to play well too when the Bucs go to 5 wide, which I firmly expect them to by the third quarter! :D

True, now is not the time anyway. The Playoffs, though a major goal of all teams, is their reward as well for their efforts during the season, no matter how big or small. Its a team reward and he's a part of it. Even Christian Morton, who show fast feet, heady play and very fast adjustment to the speed of the game. Its not his first team, but to come in off one team to another and pick up where he left off is unusual. Nice pick GW!
As I said before, if the article is true, GW was comfortable with what he knows and and what he knows about his players and this particular game.
Aside from some normal miscues in the first game, the conversion, we were doing justice for the most part. That is a LOT of confidence, not of the NY kind from the fluke game, but the kind we could just as well show on KC or SD if we had played them a second time. We KNOW we can beat them.
JUST DO IT!

The fact that he is a terrible cover corner has nothing to do with the fans. If he plays regular at CB, expect the bucs to go after him and get some huge plays.

I'm saying that he has improved his game at corner and if he was terrible at it as you suggest GW wouldn't let him on the field no matter who was injured. Is he Shawn Springs, clearly not. But he is not helpless out there either.

It isn't as bad as everyone thinks. We got Rogers/Harris in there to cover Galloway. And Jimoh will be the nickelback, probably with help from P2. And the safeties will cover deep.

This is my feeling as well, I love harris at nickel but as a cover corner he always seem to give up a cushion.
We have to look to the future. If springs is still jacked up then we need to let him rest, cause it is only going to get tougher and we will need him down the stretch. I expect williams will be leveraging the safeties quite a bit. Our coverage will probably heavily rest on sean taylor making smart decisions, which i think he is capable of. We need to get lots of pressure up front today, to relieve our corner backs.

You spoke the words, when you stated "We need to get lots of pressure up front today"
Yes the front 7 will look like 14 guys moving around and just think of the players on the defense who love a big stage. If you think the front 4 don't want that stage, think again. This should allow far better play in the secondary. Interesting, our LB corps DEEEEP and this is one of those games it really, really will help!

I would be nice to have a healthy secondary if we win this game. Also I think Harris is better than Jimoh in the nickel but Jimoh has improved a lot this year.

Exactly my thoughts. I would still take Kelli Johnson's report over John Clayton's considering Kelli Johnson is staying with the players at the team hotel. What Kelli Johnson said on the live report last night she said that "Shawn Springs' chances of playing have improved greatly".

Springs a Game-Time Decision
The Washington Post reports Washington Redskins CB Shawn Springs missed practice all week with a groin injury and remains questionable for today's first-round playoff game at Tampa Bay, with coaches likely to make a decision on his status just before game time. Springs said he would not be surprised if he cannot play, given the severity of the injury and his inability to finish last week's game, but believes he would be able to play in a divisional playoff game, should the Redskins advance. "If I can't go, I have confidence in my teammates to get the job done," Springs said. "I won't do anything to hinder the team."
