I have been so anticipating this playoff game that I started a madden franchise and have been playing it like crazy. I have worked and worked on getting an awsome roster together and I wanted to share with ya, and it gives me something to do before the game. This is the Xbox game, not the 360 game.

Ratings
Overall: 93
Offense: 92
Defense: 94
Special Teams: 92

Quarterbacks
Patrick Ramsey (86 ovr, 89 awr, 94 thp, 87 tha) When brunell retired I started to make a move for another QB like Aaron Brooks, but the redskins offense really starts with the running game, and Ram has the arm to get the ball downfield to Moss.

Jason Cambell (80 ovr, 72 awr, 92 thp, 83 tha) Last season Ram was out with a broken toe for a few games, and one of those games was against the Colts. As you can imagine, the game turned into a shootout. Cambell rose to the occasion, kept us in the game with nearly 400 yards passing, 5 TD's, and a whopping 130 rating.

Backfield
HB - Clinton Portis (98 ovr, 96 spd, 94 awr, 96 agi, 96 car) CP is the cornerstone of the offense, last season he ran for over 2000 yards and over 6 yards per carry, just have to give credit to the Offensive Line there, three of them made the probowl.

FB - Mike Sellers (94 ovr, 69 str, 65 pbk, 72 rbk) Sellers have been a real recieving threat as I sub him in at TE on many formations, he doesn't have speed, but when he cactches the ball open in the flat he will flat knock out a CB that tries to run over and make the tackle.

FB - Nehemiah Broughton (93 ovr, 96 str, 55 pbk, 65 rbk) I needed another FB last season and didn't have the cash without cutting someone, Nemo didn't see any action in his first year since there were 4 HB's on the squad. So I moved him over and it has worked out great. He is fast compared to sellers, can run, block and catch. He has improved so much cause I go to him alot on checkdowns.

Recievers

WR - Santana Moss (95 ovr, 98 spd, 96 awr, 98 agi, 98 awr) Moss averaged nearly 30 YPC in the 2006 regular season, finished with 1700 yards and 12 TD's. What else is there to say.

WR - Dana Agnew (80 ovr, 96 spd, 80 awr, 89 agi, 90 acc) Agnew was a pickup in the latest draft, he was listed as a top 10 but fell to 15 and I traded up with both my 2nd round picks to get him. In the first game, on the first passing play, Moss and Agnew ran go's on oppsite sides of the field. The only deep safety instantly rotated to Moss and I went over the top for a 60 yard completion to Agnew. He ended the game with 150 yards, 3 catches, and 2 TD's. Cut from the Santana Moss mold, it's going to be hard for a defense to cover both these guys.

WR - David Patten (81 ovr) Patten keeps dropping balls and cant get the seperation that I am spoiled with using moss, so he has been dropped to the #3 wideout.

TE - Kellen Winslow (90 ovr) I made the descision to go for a high profile TE to replace Billy Miller that was aquired in the previous year. After some searching I fell in love with this guy. To get him I traded away Mankins, the LG that I got to replace Dock on the OL. Plus, he is from the U.

TE - Chris Cooley (80 ovr) I used Cooley alot in the first season, but he just didn't improve much and I made the trade to get Billy Miller as the starter.

Offensive Line

LT - Chris Samuels (99 ovr)

LG - Tarik Glenn (98 ovr) To fill the void left from the Winslow Trade I looked to Free Agency and found Glenn, he was an LT, but looks to have the agility to pull and block for the counter trey.

C - Casey Rabach (95 ovr)

RG - Randy Thomas (98 ovr)

RT - Jon Jansen (97 ovr)

Defensive Line

LE - Renaldo Wynn (89 ovr) I have contemplated seeking a replacement for Wynn several times, but he contines to improve and occasionally gets pressure.

LE - Nic Clemons (85 ovr) When I was looking as some of my D formations I realized that there are several that require a 3 man line. Nic is the biggest guy on the DL so he has been playing as the nose tackle in those situations. More than once he has squared off with a C and just bull rushed and powered to the QB.

RE - Phillip Daniels (88 ovr) Daniels is on the same boat as Wynn, servicable. These two are probably next on the list for replacement if they dont get some good improvements in the next season.

DT - Cornelius Griffin (93 ovr) Griffin contines to improve and he is out there on just about every play.

DT - Reggie Logan (89 ovr) I traded up to get Logan as 20th overall in the first draft, he is a pass rushing DT that has been great in situational plays. I put him in as an end on the 4-3 Over and Under formations and he plays an end on all the 3 man line formations. 11 sacks in a rookie season, and then 3 in postseason.

DT - John Henderson (94 ovr) 6'7 310 pounds, I picked up John in the latest offseason, he was my only free agent signing. I did't want to cut Salave'a out of the job, but I need more pressure from the DL and I think this is the guy to deliver that. Joe was traded to the Bucs as a part of some other trade.

Linebackers

LOLB - Marcus Washington (96 ovr)

ROLB - LaVar Arrington (98 ovr)

MLB - Mike Peterson (96 ovr) After a year with Lemar Marshall at the MLB spot I decided to trade and go for a guy that would make this LB group one of the top all time. The deal was done with the Jags that sent them my 1st rounder and Marshall.

Defensive Backs
CB - Shawn Springs (93 ovr, 92 spd, 99 awr) Springs continues to be the 1# guy.

CB - Fred Smoot (93 ovr, 92 spd, 96 awr) I couldn't stand losing smoot last year, so I had to get him back after playing a season without him.

CB - Carlos Rodgers (93 ovr, 90 spd, 87 awr) Carlos is such a good tackler and blitzer that he saw alot of action in that role this past year. Finishing the season with 9 sacks and 4 INTs.

FS - Sean Taylor (99 ovr) I love Taylor, and I would love to have 2 Taylor's. So that was my main concentration for the latest offseason, and the reason I saved the best for last.

SS - Ed Reed (99 ovr) I had to trade Prioleau (who was my starter for 2 seasons and a 93 ovr) and my 1st and 3rd round picks to get this guy, but now that he is here I am so excited to have these two safety's on one team. This defense is going to be so solid that #1 ranking should be a given.

A new season is on the table and if we win today I will probably be playing alot more Madden in the coming weeks. Believe it or not, all those guys were aquired and signed under the cap without any funky tricks or whatnot. I can see that my entire OL is getting older and keeping all these guys while still coming in under the cap in years to come is going to be a real balancing act. But for right now, in this new season, I have my very own dream team.

After a great deal of tweaking I have finally made the game a more balanced, challenging and realistic play experience. Here are the gameplay setting that I have setteled into. The slider %s are just visual estimates, and you may not find any of these settings of intrest, but I thought I would put them out here for others that are playing Madden.

I can't not respond to this post, it must have taken FOREVER! Sounds like you've got a good team on your hands there. The only problem with me in madden is that I always trade away for players with cool names.

Sounds like a great team. I haven't played Madden in months, but I'll post my team in a couple of days. I think the only current Skins left are Campbell, Portis, Samuels, Cooley, Griffin, McCune, Rogers, and ST. The only current players that are on my team are Troy Williamson and Julius Peppers. The rest are all rookies that I drafted and developed.

You have a boss team there, my friend. In my franchise, I've gotten Jason Campbell up to a 96, Matt Bowen up to 97, and Lemar Marshall up to 95.

Bowen and Campbell were both 99s for me. I traded Bowen away for draft picks though.

Campbell is well on his way. I'm doing the same with Bowen as well, with Ryan Clark filling his spot.

The players will progress to a 99, but if you track their physical stats like speed and strength, they dont change a whole lot. The AWR goes up and has a huge boost to a players overall score, and keeps them from screwing up, but a Bowen at 99 is not a whole lot better than a Bowen at 80. Thats just my experience with the game.

Wow, I am going into week 2 after trouncing Chicago at home.

Portis had 100 yards on the ground but no TDs. Brunell had around 250 yards. No WR really stood out. But Chad Hutchinson threw 4 picks to Taylor 3 of which I returned for scores.

McCune playing end is a nice one, might have to do that on the next season I play.
