Hey man, you showed rare class for a visiting fan, I would be glad if you stuck around to share your opinions on the bucs during the offseason and in the future. It was an ugly game and it came down to who made the most mistakes. But Simms looks like a future pro bowler with Gruden.

You won in week 4. This is the playoffs. A kick off the goalpost will not save you. You will not go 13-18 on third down again. You will not win in Seattle.

We won the last time we were in Seattle, and we dominated that game until we went into the prevent defense in the late 3rd quarter.

And I seem to recall y'all choking last year at home in the playoffs....

Seriously, I'm racking my brain...I'm trying really, really hard now, when was the last time Seattle won a playoff game? What makes you think you'll win now?

I do think you're rooting for a good team, but the Hawks haven't played half the schedule the Skins have. The Skins won once already against the Hawks and I'd be shocked if it isn't a big fight this time around.

It's been 21 years. But the teams of year's passed have nothing to do with this team. Perhaps you could recall the previous two years, but I wouldn't dig further back than that. Going by that logic, no team that has ever won a Superbowl in the last 20 years will ever win one.

And this team is hungry. Hass does not turn the ball over like Simms did today. How many points did your offense score? That won't fly in Seattle. The Seahawks are a horrible road team, but go ahead and look up their record at home the last 3 or so years. Winning there aint easy. It's loud, it's crazy. The team usually plays that much harder at home in front of the fans. The Hawks have wanted another crack at Washington all season long, and now they get their wish. Soak in the glory of a playoff win for now, but don't be suprised when you get sent packing next week!

Because by the questions coming from the commentators...it sounds like we lost.....I know it was bad..but we did win right? Can't they let us celebrate for a minute?

Also...whenever the Redskins has a low scoring game one week...we have a high scoring game the next...bring on Seattle!

Yes, teams of years past do matter. Joe Gibbs coached teams win, period. That's a trend. The Hawks haven't won. That's a trend. Until trends are broken it's unwise to bet against them.

No, Hass doesn't turn the ball over, but Simms hasn't consistently turned the ball over either. The Washington defense forces turnovers. And are you comparing your defense to Tampa's? That's lunacy. You know that reputation that Seattle has of being soft up front on defense? Well that hasn't changed. Portis and Betts will run wild next week. Sorry bud, but this isn't the NFC West anymore. The skins aren't going to lie down and die like most of the team's Seattle has played this year.

Something I noted is the Skins played the vanilla version of the offense. Seattle won't have much to review on latter film, the defense will be of lttle help to them as well. This should be a very interesting game, because we played there before, when we beat them, they will be out for revenge, but nothing like a hot hand going in.

Correction, we played here, not there. So my apologies.

Simms had the middle of the field all day on your D. Hass and the Seahawk passing game is light years beyond Tampa's. You say the Seahawks are soft up front? The Hawks have a top ten run defense. If it wasn't for a ton of injuries in the secondary, we'd have a top ten defense overall. And by the way, everyone in the secondary is finally healthy for this game (Hamlin excluded of course).

Shaun Alexander and more importantly Strong, Jones, Hutch and the whole offensive line are much better than anything Tampa has to offer. 5 of the 11 starting offensive Pro Bowlers for the NFC play in Seahawk Blue. The Hawks will score points at home, and they will not turn it over. It will be up to the Redskin offense to keep up with Seattle, and I certainly like those odds. Lofa and the run D will shut down Portis...do you feel comfortable relying on Brunell to win this one for you? Because I can tell you he'll need the game of his life. You Redskin fans are so arogant, I feel like I have to be just out of defense. You're all blinded by your passion for your team, which I can appreciate because I am as well. I'll see you all next week.

:lol1: That defense was set up with a shotgun, hammer, nails and coffin and we still kept it moving at crucial moments. I challenge the top ten teams to face that defense today and come out better. They were living and dying on each play, as though the loss of a limb was secondary.

Someone call the league office and cancel next week's game. The Seahawks are so awesome, nevermind that this team coached by the same coach and led by the same QB that choked in the playoffs the last two years, who make bold proclamations and then don't follow through, that we can't possibly beat them. I went to NFL.com and did some stat searching since you all are knocking Seattle's D so much.

Total scoring defense (Points allowed per game)

7th. Seattle 16.9 PPG
8th. Tampa Bay 17.1 PPG
9th. Washington 18.3 PPG

Total scoring offense (Points scored per game)

1st. Seattle 28.2 PPG
13th. Washington 22.4 PPG
20th. Tampa Bay 18.8 PPG

We sure have a poor defense....really crappy in fact. And our offense, man, I don't know if we'll score at all against that awesome Redskin D.

And you played Arizona twice, San Francisco twice, the Rams twice, Houston and Tennessee. Nearly half your schedule is playing crap teams.

We played 8 games against the top ten offenses in the NFL and 5 games against the top 10 defense in the NFL.

In overall defense, the Skins are 9th, Seattle is 17th. In offense, Seattle is 2nd, Washington is 11th. And you've never won a playoff game, choked at home in the playoffs last year and we beat y'all already this season.

Your team played 4 playoff teams all season, 3 if you factor in that Indy played Seattle with backups. This forum could put together a top 10 defense against that kind of schedule.

I think a huge factor is that Seattle hasn't played a playoff-caliber game since week 12 against the Giants and the Skins have been playing big games for 6 straight weeks and won them all. The Skins have proven they can play in crunch time, but Seattle has yet to prove they aren't paper tigers.

Well, I'm pretty sure we weren't supposed to win against the league's best defense either.

If you don't live here don't assume to know anything about the passion of the fans. I won't make assumptions about Washington fans since I'm 3,000 miles away. All I know is it gets LOUD in Qwest Field, and I know a ton of my friends are passionate Seahawk fans. Things change from year to year, and the fan base has really been growing for the Hawks the last 5 years or so. Back in the mid 80's, the Hawks in the Kingdome were the place to be in this city. Fan base had a falling out in the 90's, but since Mr. Allen has bought the team this franchise has been back on track. You will hear from us soon.

Where's this stuff coming from? We won because of our defense, fair and square. We even won without half our defensive backfield, a running back that was beat up and a QB with a brace on. Oh you people are so much fun! I am indeed looking forward to next week. Will you guys be man enough to acknowledge defeat to a superior team when your Redskins get buried? I'll do the same if the Hawks lose, but I don't see that happening. I'll probably get a ton of excuses, followed by the whole "Oh yeah, well how many Superbowl rings does your team have!? None!? Hahahaha!"

Been there, done that with Rams fans. At least think of something original.

What's up dude...

Here, here!!!!

Teams change over the season. Denver isn't the same team they were vs. the Skins, and the Seahawks are easily the best team in the NFC...not even close to what they were when they played you guys.

Seattle's fans have always been kinda fair-weather. But, when your 3 major sports teams are collectively the worst in the country, I don't think you can blame 'em.

Three equals the number of playoff teams that the Seahawls played this year. They lost to the skins on the road of course, 24-21 over the Giants at home, and the meaningless win over Indy. I guess my point is all 13-3 records are not alike. they haven't played many quality teams.

Seattle is a very good team, but honestly, they don't really scare me that much. Their road of teams they played this year definately isn't intimidating, and their stadium isn't an intimidating place to play. Hopefully we'll get Springs back, and Portis and Samuels has some time to heal. We have a shot to play against a defense that isn't as good as the Bucs (although it still is very good). It'll be a very tough game, but it's not a given that we will lose (despite what every "analyst" says).

Good luck to you guys and first and foremost lets hope for no injuries. Us Seattle fans are new to this second round stuff but I think we will represent ourselves well :sun:

I think you MUST shut Alexander down to have a chance. But shutting him down will require your using a lot of guys in the box and that will leave Hass free to do his thing. Not a good situation no matter how you look at it.

Your offense will need to score and score a lot too. Our D allows the fewest points in the NFC next to Chicago and you already know about our scoring ability.

I would like to hear how you think you can stop our offense (both Shaun & Matt) and how you intend to get the ball in the endzone enough to win.

No flame intended. :)

They haven't really played anybody all year long:

St. Louis Rams twice
Arizona Cardinals twice
San Francisco 49ers twice
Houston Texans
Green Bay Packers
Tennessee Titans
Indianapolis Colts sitting everybody

That's ten games right there. Meanwhile, we've played very tough teams like the Bears, Chargers, Broncos, Chiefs, Giants twice, Dallas twice, Tampa twice, and Philly when they still had McNabb and Westbrook. I think the Seahawks are extremely overrated and will get a rude awakening on Saturday.

I think you guys have a shot at beating us but your offense will obviously have to come to play. Your defense looks scary and if you guys win the turnover battle I could see us losing. You'll have to play really good to win but you have a chance. The crowd has been crazy all year in seattle and it will only be louder for the playoff game. Opposing players say it's the loudest they've ever heard. 15 false starts on the Giants. Just thought I would look in at what you guys are saying.

you might now know it, but every week this happens, a few fans from the other team come on here, and we all usually respect their opinion and it's interesting to hear, until it gets out of line. just keep it informative and not inflamatory, and everything will be good. i like to hear the opposing team fan's insights, as long as it's not blatantly argumentative or totally misinformed.

I'd rather have CP than MA and Tatum, but you gotta give somethin' to get somethin'.

I could care less 'bout Shaun Alexander. He's definitely improved this year, both running and off the field (the "stabbed in the back" thing was overblown), but I hope the Hawks don't resign him. He'll be a relic of what he is now in a couple of years, and he wants a big years deal, so...

We must win this game. The idiots here in pocatello who are not broncos fans are seahawks fans. I do not want to have to deal with them the next 8 months.

The lineman formerly known as the "dirtbags" must earn their title back if we want to win.

And I don't mean that all bronco or seahawk fans are idiots. I mean that there are idiots who live here, and lots of them are bronco and seahawk fans because they are the "local" teams even though we are forever and a day away from Seattle or Denver.

I don't think Seattle's D will be able to hold us down like TB's D did. I'm not impressed with the Seagulls offense either. Look at their division, Arizona...St. Louis....and San Francisco???????? If our division was that weak Portis would be having a MVP year just like Alexander. I think the performance of our offense agains the number 1 defense in the league was somewhat decieivng and misleading. I'm not worried, our team has showed resiliance....and I think we will be able to win this one.

No disrespect to you guys and the skins but Seattle is a very tough place to play. I guarantee we will be ready to play. We've been waiting 21 years for this. This isn't the same team you've seen the last two years. Seattle is a much much better home team. 8-0 this year. I believe that's near 100%. You also played one of the weakest schedules I've ever seen. 9 of your games were against crap teams(Arizona twice, San Fran twice, St Louis twice, Houston, Green Bay and Tennesee-10 if you count the "preseason" game against Indy) and you struggled against good teams all season. And you haven't won a playoff game in 24 years, have choked twice in the playoffs(once at home last year) and Holmgren has never beaten Gibbs. Seattle is a talented team, but you also look soft. And I've been the Qwest field for two games, y'all act like a Methadone clinic there. Its not that loud of a field-even this season.

I think you guys are very good but not great. Seattle hasn't won a playoff game in decades or really played anyone great (the Colts game was a throwaway) at home this year, so the 13-3 record isn't as impressive as it appears.

You guys should win the game because you have the rest and the homefield. With that said, all the pressure is on Seattle, and history has shown you guys crumble under pressure.

And before you say that Qwest field has some great crowd advantage, if you throw out the Giants(11 to 1 in favor of the Hawks), the Seahawks had more false starts against them in the 7 other home games...(12 to 11) BIG advantage!

I'm surprised that everybody overlooks the fact that the Seahawks have played nobody this whole year. And experts are finding things to make fun of the Redskins and laugh at them (Steve Young and the rest of the ESPN crew) when we just defeated the best defense in football. Our 6 game "playoff" has gone without much fanfare.

I think the Redskins are a really good team now. I didn't a few weeks ago but they've looked good on this winning streak and we will have to play well to win. And we benched our starters against GB so we technically could be 14-2 weak schedule or not. We are 3-1 against the NFC East. Yes, I will give you credit for the win but realistically we are a terrible road team, and just about everything went right for the skins that day. Remember, we took you to OT in Washington and had a potential game winning FG hit the upright. You guys have a really good team, but I can't believe nobody has even commented (that I've seen) on the Seahawks being for real and maybe the Skins will have to play a really good game to win. Lol no kidding. If you guys were playing better than 75% on offense against the Bucs then you will have trouble beating ANYBODY. Props to your defense though. They looked real good. Even though Brunell and co. didn't really need to do anything and the playcalling wasn't exactly designed to do anything other than protect the lead, you would think you might have accidentally scored or something.

I don't think anyone is calling them a pushover here. Seattle is a tough team, but even you have to admit, you played an easy schedule and struggled against good teams.

I think the Redskins are a really good team now. I didn't a few weeks ago but they've looked good on this winning streak and we will have to play well to win. And we benched our starters against GB so we technically could be 14-2 weak schedule or not. We are 3-1 against the NFC East.

And you were a bad Bledsoe throw and a Feeley meltdown away from 1-3. You can say all you want that it was an OT game between the Skins and hawks, but we flat out dominated the first 40 minutes of that game.

Yes, I will give you credit for the win but realistically we are a terrible road team, and just about everything went right for the skins that day. Remember, we took you to OT in Washington and had a potential game winning FG hit the upright.

And we completely dominated the first 3 quarters and held Shaun Alexander to 20 yards until the end of the 3rd quarter.

You guys have a really good team, but I can't believe nobody has even commented (that I've seen) on the Seahawks being for real and maybe the Skins will have to play a really good game to win. Philly didn't beat Washington. Seattle is one of the most talented teams in the NFL this season, with a scary offense. But you have struggled against good teams and you've struggled in the playoffs recently-even with home field advantage.

You guys are 9.5 point favorites and we beat you during the season, and we aren't giving you enough respect? The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

I guess unless it's a 21 points spread, then they aren't being respected

Thank you. Somebody finally said we that we could maybe have a team that might be good. Would it kill some of you guys to say "wow seattle might be tough". So I have solid proof right here. We beat San Francisco who beat Tampa Bay who beat Buffalo who beat Houston who beat....well...oh, Arizona who beat Philly who beat Washington. So I think Seattle has it in the bag.
i think we realize this game isnt going to be easy, but its killing me to hear seattle fans say that the seahawks are just going to destroy the redskins. the coaches and players are well aware of the fact that they cant get away with gaining a measly 120 yards of offense and expect to win again.

all we hear is we have the MVP, 29 pro bowl players, a future HOF QB and the second coming of vince lombardi as our coach. we know the team is good, its the arrogance that is bothering me. it all stems from the offenses production against tampa (the same tampa team we scored 35 on earlier in the season).

I don't think anyone is calling them a pushover here. Seattle is a tough team, but even you have to admit, you played an easy schedule and struggled against good teams.

And you were a bad Bledsoe throw and a Feeley meltdown away from 1-3. You can say all you want that it was an OT game between the Skins and hawks, but we flat out dominated the first 40 minutes of that game.

And we completely dominated the first 3 quarters and held Shaun Alexander to 20 yards until the end of the 3rd quarter.

Philly didn't beat Washington. Seattle is one of the most talented teams in the NFL this season, with a scary offense. But you have struggled against good teams and you've struggled in the playoffs recently-even with home field advantage.

Yeah well, this might surprise you but I wasn't exactly banking on that theory to convince anyone. You probably didn't see the phantom touchdown they gave Shockey that the league even apologized for. Feely sucking shouldn't have even been a factor. We played one of our worst games against you guys on the road and still had a chance at the end. So don't say you dominated the game because even if you did we still stayed in the game and could have won. I'm not making any excuses but you guys are giving us absolutely no credit. At least most seattle fans (that i know) have commented on how tough the skins might be.

All right. Thank you. Lol you have to understand that 21 years without a playoff win makes this seahawk team look like the 72 dolphins to some of us. I guess some of us have been a little over-confident. I'll admit I hadn't really looked at your schedule and when I did I was surprised to find all quality losses. Relax - you guys have a good team but not a great team. Why is so hard for you to grasp this concept that Redskin fans are not scared of Seattle. This is why:

Here are the stats on Seattle wins against winning teams:

Cowboys +3
Giants +3
Colts +15 (Colts weren't playing starters, had nothing to play for and TD's son had just died)

Here is who you beat:

Cardinals (twice)
Rams (twice)
Texans
49'ers (twice)
Eagles
Titans
Packers

Most of us feel that if the Seahawks played the Redskins schedule, they would be in the 11-5 area. That is why most of us think we have a shot.

I give them credit, they are a tough team. Alexander is the best Rb in the league and the entire team is studded with stars and pro bowlers. But I also look at their regular season, where they struggled against good teams-even at home. As I said saturday night, the game will come down to one question: Is Seattle's talent enough to overcome the Redskins' coaching and fire. Seattle is clearly a more talented team than the Skins are, but the Skins have better coaching and are playing with a passion rarely seen. Combine that with the Hawks lack of success in the playoffs and their sleepwalking through games against good teams and this won't be a blowout for the Hawks. It will be a very close game, and will come down to turnovers.

We are not the team that has something to prove. You guys already lost to us Redskins once this year. We also played the toughest schedule out of the NFL. As far as MVP goes, CP could have gotten 2000 yards playing STL, AZ,and SF. And if they (Seahawk fans) want to know the truth, they should thank the Redskins for that magnificent O line. After all, it was Marty that drafted Rod Gardner to spite Dan Snyder when Steve Hutchinson was still available (and Santana Moss for that matter).

Two other things have happened on the defense to improve that area. When Arrington spent more time on defense, meaning he's back, Cloman became a VERY EXPERIENCED LB in depth, McCune moves up and so does Clemons, with Evans replacing Wynn. This bodes well for the front 7 to have fresh, decent sized, speedy, hard hitting, tackling LB's and DE's. This has also occued in the secondary, with Springs returing, we now have depth players who all got a taste of the BIG games when it counted, do or die and now, know the pace, discipline and endurance that is required.

You have a very short memory. We already stated our case during week 4. Our defense is considerable better now, especially our run defense. Additionally Lavar is playing nearly fulltime which is a dramatic improvement over holdman. Our whole secondary is healthy maybe for only the second game this year. We have a better field goal kicker. And while our offense sputtered against the #1 Defense (bucs) we have been putting up consistent numbers during the second half of the year.

You guys have a strong team, but we already beat you. You are the one that needs to make the case. How is it that the seahawks are going to beat us when they couldn't do it before?

3,000 miles from Seattle was no problem for you, so why should it be for us. Its not like we haven't traveled to the West before, or even this year.

Duh!

How is it that the seahawks are going to beat us when they couldn't do it before? How is it that you beat the Giants when you couldn't do it before? Something's not quite right with your logic.

They devoted the day to him and it worked out wonderfully in their favor. We got them at home you are correct. We realize you have a talented squad however we nor is our 3 time super bowl champion coach is scared of you. It's going to be alot closer than you think.

yeah, no aspect of the redskins football team showed up on that emotional day for the giants and on top of that, we had the ghost of southeast jerome on our side the second time around. :)

You are exactly right. And when we played the giants a second time it was us that had to do something different to step up and win the game, and we did. The question is can seattle step up this time or did they already show us the best they had? If they don't step up more then they did 2 months ago we are going to hand them the end of their season with ease cause you are about to face a much tougher skins team.
