That interception made a huge difference, not too mention his 8 Tackles he was everywhere. THe only thing i am bummed about is I believe williams gave him a shot on a 3rd down and he blew it with that penalty. I hope he gets another shot at 3rd down play. Congrats lavar on your FIRST playoff game EVER.

Lavar has always badly wanted to win. Perhaps that was at the root of his trying (maybe too frequently) to make a big play (and perhaps missing an assignment). He just hasn't had the team and/or the coaches to get this far.

Lavar was simply awesome today. I am still irked with his article the other week but you can't deny he was great today. He clearly has some issues to work out with the team and I'm still far from believing he'll be back, but for right here and now I was very happy to see him play so well.

Great Job to LA.

I loved to see that. He was living it up. He loves it here and we love him here. He just needs to get it through his head that what the last six weeks is what it's about. I think he's got it now and I'm so happy for him and the team. This linebacking crew is going to be something.

Lavar proved why he is a "playmaker" in the NFL.

Assuming his dead cap his is equal to his salary cap hit next year, then we should think about keeping him. 10 tackles and two turnovers is HUGE in the playoffs.

I think he is a keeper.

Lavar was FANTASTAIC today. His post game interview was cute, he was like a kid in a candy store. If he puts everything behind him and goes out next week and plays like he did today, he'll prove that he's one of the best in the league, and hopefully we'll keep him around next season.

I think those are Washington's numbers. I tell you though, we may have the best linebacking core in the NFL with three potential Pro-Bowlers and three solid backups in McCune, Clemons, and Holdman.

I understand his contract is big, but we gave it to him. Why we wouldn't want that beast on our team compared to someone elses I'll never understand. He's willing to play in a limitied roll, and while his contract demands more, that's the coaching staff, not his decision. I hope he retires after a long career as as member or the Redskins. If not... Our loss.....

10 tackles, INT, and a Forced Fumble. 56 was playing his butt off yeasterday. I'm proud of him, and glad he could contribute to our victory. But lets not forget though, the whole entire Defense was playing their hind parts off. Biggups to all you guys, and GW.

Strong tackling all game and a big-time INT for a great return to set up a TD. They seemed to be testing LA a little in the beginning of the game, and then backed off once they figured out he hits hard. Congrats LA and the rest of the defense on a great game. I think Coach Williams leaving him in on 3rd downs at times is really showing something.

Did you see him after the game? He was absolutely giddy!

What JG and GW did was kept him away, after some points he wasn't able to go a whole game, no matter how he acted like it or wanted to because of his pride. He has a lot of pride. However, GW needed to be prudent with his choices during that 5-0 run. When the playoff became available and LaVar had a better level of play, ability to handle a whole game once more, they played him against Tampa Bay longer than any of those games before, since his return.

Result, arguable MVP of the game.

I am not sure if the player coach divergence is so much with Greg Williams or with his linebacker coach Dale Lindsey, but independently of that, with Renaldo gone, there might be a need to fill that vacuum in more ways than just a simple substitution for coverage but a synergistic plug to the gap that only explosive and creative players, such as Lavar, can fill up in a hurry.

In any event, Lavar took the interception and developed momentum for us, and because of his disciplined play within the overall defensive schemes, our somewhat dazed offense can say that even though it was an unattractive win, in addition to a good, relatively long, field goal there was an offensive touchdown, because it is true.

On the humourous side and in reference to our colorless offense and the win, maybe there ought to be an additional verse in the old cynic and crude but funny: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/flash/coronas.html

Ugly, funny, misunderstood, under the influence of Nine Coronas, I do not care; Lavar was one oustanding pillar of Redskin pride when we were a lot less in the league. Let the man be, and let us all now concentrate on how to stuff Alexander and Hasselbeck deep under a mountain of crushing burgundy.

:Peace:

This is exactly why I think LaVar has to be on the field. He just has that "it". I don't know what exactly "it" is, but I know they don't sell it on eBay. It's the same je ne sais quoi that had led him to 10 tackles and an INT that landed straight in his gut. Sean Taylor has it too. I mean, how else does a ball bounce up into your gut for you to return for a TD not once but two weeks in a row? You can't fake "it" and LaVar has it.

Also, I'm so very happy for him. I watched his post game interviews and he was like a kid on Christmas. He was so happy. I hope I see a lot more of the happy LaVar instead of the dejected LaVar.

You don't know how much I want LaVar to come alive and really spark a big win. Obviously we all love the Skins, but I am not ready for the Arrington chapter in this book to be over. I want him to really play smart and make some huge plays so that there is no discussion of releasing him in the offseason.

I still love the guy.

Me too...the only Jersey I own. and I always took his negative comments as a frustrated player who wants to do well and is unable to play (either injury or not getting knack of GW system) at the level he was accustomed to from himself. I think he is showing what kind of Redskin heart he has, and I will take that over any mercenary we might sign to replace him.

That and I think he is emotional. I am the same way, and I know there are plenty of times in my life where I have said things I wish I could take back.

A huge game against Seattle and taking us to the NFC championship game, IMO means he should be here in '06.

I was saying this exact same thing the other day to Ahk. I think we are all glad right now, that its lookinglike the Arrington supporters have been right. LaVar is the only jersey I have of a player who hasn't left.(I got Smoot, then Coles, then Arrington, then Green). So...I'm hoping he hangs around as well.

Great Job Lavar. He played 1/2 the role in the win against Tampa. He and Taylor and MW are game breakers. They can win a game in 1 play. Guys like Salave'a, Priloeu(sp), Clark, etc... are very good players and we need them but ST/LA/MW are just another level above. True game breakers.

Remember Cornelius, there were a very few plays when was not stopping or moving two linemen BACK all by his lonesome, that man is a bulldozer masquerading as a human. In my opinion it is because of his return that all those linebackers are running around free and happy as goats in spring all over the field.

I have been very critical of Lavar, his attitude, and his performance recently. My concerns have mostly been his performance and attitude relative to his contract, but that isn't my point here.

Lavar played great in TB. It was the type of performance I have been waiting for and expecting out of Lavar for quite a while and it couldn't have come at a more opportune time.

Hopefully he can repeat that performance in Seattle, b/c we will need another stellar performance from our D to come away with a road win this week. Like always, I will be rooting for him.

My point exactly in the TB game and before it, that the line would free them up and LA's return would be more of an impact. I am sure many knew if he was in that game, healthy, he'd show up Big! He Always has good games against them. Portis too. Portis' 53 yards was the equivalent of 106 since that was the #1 Defense and we showed them up. Why, because we WANTED Simms to be the one they relied on. Of course, hed throw for more yards than normal. However, the D rose even higher and LA set the tone for how high.
