He's been good as of late, but he really hasn't gotten the recognicion for what he has accomplished this season.

Before the game today, he had 8 sacks, which is 4th most in the league. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Cheers to Daniels!

rofl, thats not 4th in the league. Thats not even close. He's 13th in the NFC in sacks, not even top 30 in the NFL. ABC dropped the ball on their stats today. They said this was Clintons career high in yardage, but he had almost 1600 in his second year in Denver.

But yes, Phillip is a beast when he's not injured, its making his signing look worth it.

Whoa! Nevermind. Bonehead Theisman said that in the game! That's what I get for trusting him.

Don't blame Theismann for ABC's stat guy screwing up.

Badge of Honor - Daniels, Arrington, MW, Grif, Salave'a, Rabach, Portis (for the highlight blocks, awfully tough running without fumbles), and GW for putting the clamps on Simms at very crucial moments.

HTTR!

I just wanted to add Salave'a to the list of unsung heros. He had a phenomenal game.

He gets to the quarterback and disrupts plays like it's his job. (It is his job).

Whether it's batting down the ball or knocking down lead blockers, he's a force in there.

when they were talkign about hovan (on the bucs) and how hes not hte DT that attacks as much for htem...i realized why sal'avea doesn't get the intense sacks like griffin, but exactly why we need him in there...he does his job

Phillip's increase in play is attributed to single team blocking. When Grif or Saleve'a was out, Daniels coudl be doubled up and shut out. With Grif and Salave'a both in and healthy, they now can not afford to double team Daniels because of helpign out with Grif and Salave'a, makign Daniels in a one on one situation. Daniels has pretty good speed compared tot he Tackles. He has been playing at a monster level the past 4 week, absolutel beast and today was no different.

Another player who doesn't get the respect he deserves is Ladell Betts IMO. Big conversions all season long, and tough runs. Especially the one where T.Newman was flattened! I would really like to see Betts as our main returner @ Seattle since Antonio has been really shaky lately, (in fact everytime he's fielding a punt I'm scared to death.).

I hope we keep pounding those birds on saturday !!!

Boy did I hate Daniels for a while. He was always injured and got no pressure on the QB. Now he's healthy and has been an animal. I believe our DL feels that people overlook them, which for much of the season they should have, but I think that has fueled them of late. Guys have gotten healthy and they are really doing a great job. I still think we need a DE come draft time because you see what a Simeon Rice brings to a team, but Salave'a and Griffin are very good interior lineman and can stop the run and put pressure on the QB up the middle. I truely believe this defense is one DE away from being a dominate unit.

I also found it interesting how much the defensive guys likes Wynn. He seems to be a guy that alot of the defensive players like and respect. After the game you heard alot of talk about Wynn from them, I didn't realize that he was so well liked and respected on the D. Evans needs to step up this game.

I want to add Blache to that list... everybody worries about Williams leaving, but this guy's departure would hurt the team a lot...

IMO, I think that each player on the line makes them all good. And when they are missing one, the whole line suffers. For example, when Griff and Salavea went down, there was no pressure at all. When all four of our starters are in, we get a 100% more pressure. So, I don't think you can point out just one D-lineman as the best or unsung, because they all are.

Exactly. Daniels is not a beast who will kill double teams like a Reggie White. This is exactly why I feel Griffin is the defensive MVP. We are a different team with him healthy and in the lineup.

Phillip has been playing lights out lately. I hope that continues this week cause he has one heckuva matchup against Walter Jones. They will each have their hands full.

Brother, amen. Blache has worked really well with our defensive line. He's the Unsung Hero among the Coaches.
