I was listening to Sonny and Sam do pregame on WJFK today and they were noting how impressed they were with the large number of Redskins fans that showed up for the game today. I could even make out "COOOOOLEY" on TV after Chris made a catch early on.

Way to go 12th man!!

Those that were there share your thoughts!

Yeah just before Simms TD did you see the whole team trying to quiet the crowd? Too bad it was our fans making all the noise.

My wife:

"If the Redskins just scored, why do I hear people cheering?"

Me:

"Uh dear, its in the symetrics of the ticket sales x the number of fanatical, gutsy fans = representation"

Nothing you'd understand, but that's football :)

:lol1: , women. It was great to hear the fans when we scored down in Florida. We are showing the world how the best fans in the NFL love their team. HTTR!

A few days before the game, I had a Bucs fan tell me that there would be no more than 1,000 Skins fans at the game. Boy, was he wrong!

Simms was trying to be all cool by quieting the crowd, he failed so he had to hike it.

the funniest thing was when the bucs had the ball in our goaline and it took like 5 minutes for the bucs offense to quite down the crowd. u could see the frustration in their faces. it was cuz either the bucs fans were dumb enough to yell when they had the ball or the skins fans were reppin

Just got back from the game and we were definitely representing down in Tampa. Me and my friend drove down friday. We started tailgating saturday at about 10:30 with a bunch of other skins fans. I heard on the radio down there that they had reported (somehow counted the tickets sold) there was 20,000 tickets plus sold to skins fans. I will fill you guys in on details later, I am very tired and going to sleep!

It was Fed Ex South. There had to have been 5-10k fans there. It was absolutely awesome. The bucs fans in my section actually tried to have me thrown out. Just for cheering every good play for the skins. There was major sour grapes.

Good, I like when that happens to those pansies. They won last time because of a blind Ref, and they got what they had coming to them.

Oh, we were definitely well represented. If i had to guess, I would say 10-15,000 of us easily.

One thing that absolutely has to be noted: the Tampa fans are as classy as can be. Having went up to Philly the week before, to say that it was a 180 degree turn as far as being the visitor is a understatement. I actually became so cool with the Tampa fans around me that after the game was over, every last one of them said "good luck" and two of them gave me a hug. I think that I may have heard 3 negative comments after the game, and they weren't that bad.

Interesting enough, when that non-TD was being reviewed, I kept saying that it looked good to me and that the Bucs would be rewarded the score, but one of the Bucs fans around was telling me from the get go that it wasn't a TD because of the rule that the ball cannot hit the ground in the endzone at all. I was totally unaware of that rule.

We have a huge fanbase in the Tampa/St.Pete/Sarasota areas.
I don't know if they're retiree's,snowbirds,or what...but their football knowledge must haved rubbed off on the Bucs fans.:)

Seriously,it's nice to know that another teams fans can act appropriately.
It must be because of the Lombardi in the Buc's trophy case, right Philly?

the LMAO moment of the day was on tampa's offense was at the goalline on their only touchdown drive of the game. chris simms and the bucs offense was trying to quiet the crowd and it just kept getting louder. i wonder why, lol.....

I was at the game also with a friend of mine. We drove down from Virginia. We had a great time. Probably met some of you, but I was having so much fun tailgating that I don't remember a lot of names. Sorry! We had a huge following in the stands everywhere. We were in section 337, and when I looked out I could see a burgandy and gold sea across the stadium. I had several skins fans by me, so we had a pretty good "DEFENSE" chant going the entire time. The Tampa fans are a class act. PERIOD!! These guys were congratulating us after the game and giving hugs, except for one arse. We almost had one incident after the game, but we quickly handled that. Great experience! Definitely probably one of the nicest fan bases I have ever come across. I am so tired!

That is sweet. Kudos to all that made the trip to support the Skins.

Does anybody know if Mr. Bell from the Washington Times article really handed out 150 tickets to Skins fans?

Does anybody know if Mr. Bell from the Washington Post article really handed out 150 tickets to Skins fans?Joe Da Schmoe said he indeed saw him with an envelope full of tix but if I remember correctly, he didn't see him hand them out and didn't know what you had to do to get them.

That's really good to know about the Tampa fans. To be fair, if you've got a 'hitlist' of the fans you hate the most, you ought to have one for the fans that are cool. I had a similar experience at the Hall of Fame game 2 years ago with the Bronco fans. Very classy. We'll have to return the favor next time they visit FedEx.

Wow, after linking to the Bucs thread they sure are obsessing about the amount of Skins fans at the game!!! Great job to all those that were there and carried on like crazy!!! I heard the Cooooley chants too on the tube and the TV cameras more than once panned the crowd and stopped on the Skins fans.
