That Thrash had surgery today on his thumb that he broke on Saturday during the Tampa playoff game.

Questionable on Saturday against Seattle.

More reason why our offense wasn't hitting on all cylinders.

from what I've heard is that they fitting him with some type of soft cast and he's supposed to play.

He played with it for three quarters in Tampa, and Gibbs said he may play against Seattle.

Brunell doesn't throw to him anyway. He could be playing with no fingers really.

ok - lineman - cool with no thumb. But a receiver????

Hell I dont care who they put out there anymore. We have all kinds of injuries still we just keep finding a way to win. Id love a better showing in the passing game though so i guess this dosent help any.

Don't worry - we still have Jacobs. :drunker:

As ineffective as all our #2's have been this year I honestly feel Thrash has been the most effective of all of them. In addition, he's always solid on special teams. Even if our #2 could get just 2-3 decent catches a game that would help the overall offense alot imo. I hope he sees the field and plays well at Seattle.

What's the deal with our players breaking their thumbs? One broken thumb is rare, but three???

I can tell you one thing, he didn't break it trying to catch a Brunell pass against Tampa.

lol. I think Jimmy Farris might be the guy we need to step up or someone needs to wake TJ up.

It'll never happen. I want it to but it won't. That kid is destined to retire a single reception wonder, if for no other reason because he just doesn't get the looks.

No doubt about that. The CB covering TJ has better hands then both of our #2s. But at least Brunell trusts Thrash enough for one completion a game. TJ is just a body taking up space. I bet if we only had 10 players in, we could run the offense the same.

Aaahhhh... but if you re-watch the Seahawks game from Week 4, it was Thrash who was ALL OVER THE FIELD. He must've converted 3 or 4 third and longs by himself. Thrash was Johnny On The Spot that day, and if he can have a repeat performance, I'm all for him playing somehow.

I'm not too worried because our top four receivers are Moss, Cooley, Betts, and Portis. Then Sellers in the Red Zone and Royal every so often. We really only need one wide receiver because our TEs and Backs fill the job pretty nicely.

I've had a broken toe that they don't give you a cast for, with those Army boots on (required) for weeks. Know the feeling. Can be done and it will be done!

Yep. Army medical care =

1) motrin
2) a crutch.

Pick one.

First, I didn't think our offense was hitting on any cylinders. Second, I really like Jimmy Farris and i want him to play. But I would rather have Thrash back if he's good to go.

A hurt Trash is better than a healthy Jacobs. When we go three wide, it should be Thrash, Farris, and Moss.

I have a feeling that one or non-Moss WRs is going to make a big play Saturday and help this team. I hope I am right.

Until this weekend? No. But I have a feeling that Gibbs is going to get some other guy involved in the game plan. Coverage is always going to be rolled towards Moss so we need to make teams pay.

:lol1:

Like the name of a member at HR, its INEVITABLE

Moss drawing a double (it has to be a legitmate double, not a poor man's double or loose fitting, because I have seen him toast two guys, who are left scratching their heads), would most certainly lead to another receiver getting open. We just faced the Fastest, craftiest DB's in the business last week, which should prepare us well for still another very good secondary.

Thrash, even with a 'Designer" glove, cast, would still be able to work the field. Yest this is the most likely time we'd see Farris again. Didn't he come in for a couple of plays last week?

It a decoy!

Thrash does not have a broken hand. He lines up and they ignore him.
On 3rd and long he takes the cast off and is wide open catching the game winning TD!

Gibbs strategy all along.

You cant count two RB's because we never play them at the same time. As much as I like to think that we don't need another WR, we do.

It wouldn't be a bad idea though. Line Betts outside next to Thrash.

He is not fast but has great hands. He has no size but will out jump the competition.

In single coverage, he'll be open.

I would like to see Farris play. I think that he is a good player who just needs a chance.

Thrash is Mr. Clutch (I wish we hadn't forgotten about him the second half of the season), but I'm not sure if he'll be able to make any third-down grabs with a thumb that went through surgery five days before the game.

This worries me.
