Yes, from PFT, but they have been right about a lot of stuff of late....
CHAD TOOK SWING AT MARVIN
A league source tells us that multiple members of the Cincinnati Bengals witnessed a troubling incident as the team prepared to take the field for the second half of Sunday's playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Per the source, the last few minutes of intermission were ticking away, when the players were startled by the sight and sound of a helmet slamming against the glass pane of the training room door. Inside, receiver Chad Johnson and receivers coach Hue Jackson were engaged in an altercation. At one point, Johnson was seen holding Jackson in a headlock.
Coach Marvin Lewis entered the training room to intervene, and Johnson (per the source) took a swing at him.
Eventually, receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh broke up the skirmish, within a minute or so of the team exiting the locker room for the second half.
On Monday, several members of the team pointed to the Johnson-Jackson-Lewis incident as the catalyst for the loss of a 17-14 halftime lead and, ultimately, a 31-17 defeat.
Word is that Johnson was unhappy with the lack of balls thrown to him in the first half. A total of three passes came his way, with two completions.
In the second half, another three passes were thrown to Johnson, with only two more completions. For the game, Johnson had four catches for 59 yards.
The incident could have an even more lasting impact on the team than quarterback Carson Palmer's torn ACL and MCL. Some players, we're told, don't want to see Johnson back next year, and there's a belief that the team will be less inclined to give in to Johnson's request for a hefty restructuring of a contract that expires after the 2009 season.
So the Chad Johnson saga very well could evolve into the 2006 version of the Terrell Owens fiasco.
If so, it's very bad news for a franchise that otherwise looked to have a very bright future.

When good teams lose at home in the first round, good players behave unusually ala Tiki Barber and Chad Johnson over the weekend. Both, especially Barber, don't behave normally as they did in their losses. That is a very interesting story am I'm curious if it truly holds merit. Johnson would be a wonderful addition to our team if Cincy is interested in letting him go but I seriously doubt that.

You don't want them to pre-institute the "Lavar for _______(Insert headcase WR's name here)" rule..do you?

If true, that is just an unbelievable shame. Cincy was still leading at the time and Chad is starting fights with coaches?
Well, actually I remember Gary Clark screaming at Gibbs on the sideline while we were pounding Minnesota in the playoffs.
What is it with WR's? Oh and did I mention how glad I am that we have Santana?

Yeah, have you ever heard of any problems whatsoever with Santana at all? I've only heard him speak once, and I've never heard him trash talk at all. he's like Marvin Harrison in that way.

WRs are just headcases by nature I think. Santana is just a star. Love that guy, never goes overboard with any stupid celebrations, is just a total team player.
I've never heard a bad word about Reggie Wayne either. Let's get this dude on the Skins and just assemble a dominant offense next year. Is he repped by Rosenhaus?

Whew, that is quite a story there. Wonder how it is going to spin in the next few days. Could you imagine a lockerroom with Portis and Johnson? non-stop comedy and talent.

You definitly see this alot in playoff games espcially loses You also saw it illustrated with Marvin Lewis with his statement about Big Ben whinning or the Colts kicker complaining about Manning a couple of years ago. Playoffs bring out strange behavior and when you lose the stress multiplies. I hope its not true because I like Lewis and I think what he is doing is great over there. But I also realize that almost every rumor holds some truth where there is smoke there is usually fire.

For real. Maybe the greatest rule change in professional sports, the foreward pass, should be repealed. If you want the ball so much don't be a wuss, be a real man, take your hits and go play running back or QB.

Wow...whenever I read stuff like that, the first thing that comes to mind is how things like that just do not happen in our locker room..and thank God...one of Gibbs' greatest achievements in my mind is to have built a team of good character guys...whoever doesn't wanna be here or will cause trouble in the locker room is gone (see coles, gardner..)...
That's just unacceptable...if the told me the Skins could have Johnson and TO absolutely free next year I would pass without hesitating...me-first players who are only happy when the spotlight is on them and don't give a crap about the team..win or lose, they are happy if they are getting the ball and all the attention...

Cincy wont let him go, He could very well be the best reciever in the league in a few years...I think recievers are the most selvish ball players becuase they do not get the ball right off the bat, they dont get it in there hand like a QB or planted in there gut like a runningback, they have to depend on other guys to get them the ball, so it makes iteasier for them to blame oher people.

Sorry, but I think that is insane!?? Wasn't Cincy winning at the half? This is nothing like what Tiki did. Chad Johnson is a selfish jerk very similar to TO, and this would not surprise me one bit if it were true. I wouldn't take Chad if you paid me.

I'm salivating over the possibility of having Chad Johnson and Moss - we need a #2 WR and would instead have two #1s!!!
LaVar for him would be intriguing ...

Stop the insanity! This is the mindset that got us into trouble early in the Snyder years. CJ is a punk thug moron. LaVar is no saint, but he has toiled here for years and deserves better than to be cast off for some jerk.

Totally with you, Smoak!!
What is wrong with you people? Haven't you seen what Gibbs is doing the past two years? He's been weeding out these questionable character types and building a team OF CHARACTER!!!! And THAT HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!
Chad Johnson would make a HORRIBLE Redskin! I don't care what kind of talent he has - I don't want a loose cannon like that in our uniform. The guy needs serious therapy.

Didn't Reggie Wayne start a shoving match during a game with Peyton Manning a couple years ago?

I don't mind SMALL emotional outbreaks in the heat of a game. I guess I would have to know more though knowing how much respect that I have for Marvin Harrison.
But I don't want Wayne either way. He benefits greatly from his supporting cast and while he is good, I don't know that he is THAT good. Just my $.02.

No confirmation on this rumor yet but here is an article with a denial by Chad. Read the entire article and take note of the last 3 paragraph's. It sounds like it happened to me.

i honestly dont belive that CJ did it. and i dont see the bengals letting him go unless he did. this is the only bad incident of CJ's career, and we dont even know if its true or not, so it doesnt make sense to jump the gun and label him as a "punk thug".

Well it is now being reported by ESPN and all of them as well.
I guess sometimes PFT gets it right.

If this is true, you really have to ask yourself what is Chad Johnson's priority. Is is stats for his own self interets? Or is it the team and winning? If true, I know what I think and therefore question why anyone would want him on their team.

The success of the team seem to rely largely on his performance so maybe beong selfish works in their advantage. It seems like today the majority of the receivers in the league are this way.

He's MeShawn's cousin...guess it runs in the family.
No way I want him on our team.
Lewis is STILL looking for the player that leaked this info and says he wants to cut that player.

So he wants to cut the guy that leaked the news, but not the guy who blew up during a playoff game? A bit hypocritical if you ask me.

Yeah. He totally ignores the incident that was far more detrimental for his team. It would be pretty funny if it was Chad that leaked the news.

Maybe Iffy is posturing for number 85.
Makes sense. I can't imagine Lewis saying that if it was a player who mattered on the field. They probably planned on getting rid of him anyway.

his stance is that the event never happened...that chad got upset but whoever leaked the info greatly embellished the story, including adding that someone threw a punch. i can understand where he's coming from if the person really did add to it that liberally.
