Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely fire up the TiVo for that one...
i love how that we're being recognized as much as we have been lately. granted there were only 4 games to choose from, but impressive just the same.

Yeah, back to back games of the week following the Iggles game.
But for some reason it occurs to me that there was a 2nd, game of the week from week 17 after the Skins/Iggles game

Our game was closer than any other game.

This was really an amazing episode, especially how it showed the officiating. The refs get blasted a lot, and often rightly so, but the guy who was the head official in this one did a masterful job on both sides. He really handled everything incredibly well. I was most impressed.
Gibbs was speechless on the sidelines when the ref told him Taylor had been ejected for spitting. He just stared for a few seconds, then shook his head and walked away. I also loved Marcus Washington saying, "Hey, ref, please don't throw any more of our guys out of the game," and then the ref saying, "Well, don't do anything stupid." Wonder what Gregg Williams thought when he saw that huge mass of spit coming out of Taylor's mouth. Hideous.
But my favorite moment was seeing the shots of the Tampa fans as they knew the game was over. Hate to revel in other's misery (except Dallas and Philly fans), but after what happened in the last postseason game down there, as wella s the regular season game this year, it was sweet redemption.

I noticed that too, he huddled his guys up a lot and told them what to watch for and reminded them of the timeout situation. I thought it was a great job by the head ref.

Yeah, there's no doubt I came away with a lot of respect for the head ref. He was pretty amazing. It was a little disappointing, though, that there wasn't more focus on the Redskins sideline. It seemed like the Skins were an afterthought. This is the first GOTW that I've seen, but I would have thought they would have shown more of the winners. Maybe it was just because of the ugly way we won.

I certainly did my share of swearing at Mike Carey and crew while watching the game, but, after hearing them mic'd up, and listening to what a masterful job he did running that game and managing the players, I have a new level of respect for him and his crew. They did a fantastic job, and that was the most interesting part of this week's Game Of The Week to me. Great, GREAT stuff.

Great episode, watched it last night.
My favorite part was when Carlos Rogers was harassing Cadillac Williams after the game. Cadillac was like "Man you couldn't do nothin on our defense" and Carlos goes "Then you shouldn't have fumbled! How many yards you get? Like thirty? Thirty yards??" Hahaha it was great!

I saw that. I thought it was pretty hilarious. To the victor goes the spoils.
"Who you playin' tomorrow Cadillac?"

Yeah, I agree 100%! In fact, if they'd show more of this kind of footage, I bet we'd all have a much higher respect for them. The Marcus conversation you mention was really interesting. Showed exactly how much the refs talk to the players, in what tone, and in what context. Fascinating. I love how he tried to further explain how's it's a physical game and everybody is hitting hard and the ref fired back with "you're all professionals..." or was it "be a professional"...anyway you get the point.
The other thing that was awesome was some of the conversations the refs had between themselves during the breaks. The head guys said to his number 2...see the play, run it back through your mind and make the call. Also, he predicted something was going to happen before the Taylor thing, though it's difficult to tell if it was edited to make the timing seem more dramatic...but he basically said "it's been real quiet here for awhile, something is going to happen, stay on your toes".
Great stuff.
