I'm officially "in" and I'm looking forward to defending my 2005 Title!
Mrs. DJ will be registering momentarily to defend her second place trophy.
Can anyone stop the Stouts from fantasy NASCAR domination in 2006? ;)

Big whoop. He is a Colts fan. Why on earth would he root AGAINST his childhood team in the superbowl?
Don't rag on the guy. Stewart was on the sidelines for one of the Skins home games rooting on the Skins. He has mentioned COUNTLESS times that the Skins are his NFC team, but the Colts are his favorite team.
There are lot worse things in this world than Colts fans. Don't let me find out that Dale Jarrett is a Dallas fan! :inkston:
Edit: One more thing. Only one minute into his speech after winning the 2005 Championship in Miami, he asked the reporter if Joe and the Skins won their game that day. How 'bout that?

One of my favorite post-race things I've seen was a few years back, after Jr. won a race, he was getting out of his car and he turned to one of his crew and said "how'd we do?". The crew guy responded with the Redskins score. He was instantly my third favorite driver!! This was before he came to a game or practice and everyone knew he was a fan.

A Drivers [Top guns of last year]
*** pick 2 to qualify and choose 1 of the 2 qualifiers to race.
B Drivers [the best of the rest not in last years top 10]
***pick 4 to qualify and choose 2 of the 4 qualifiers to race
C Drivers [Rookies,part timers,has beens,and nobodies]
***pick 2 to qualify and choose 1 of the 2 qualifiers to race
Total= 8 qualifiers
2 From the A-List ....must choose 1 of these to race
4 From the B-List ....must choose 2 of these to race
2 From the C-List ....must choose 1 of these to race
Total to Race=4
You can only RACE any 1 specific driver[Gordon,Earnhardt,Stewart...]
9 times during the year. That's 9 total times out of 36 races, then they become locked out.
However, you can use them to QUALIFY all season long,as long as they haven't been raced 9 times.
This is important because you get Bonus Points for qualifying in the top 3 starting positions.
***You also get bonus points for leading a race lap and leading the most race laps overall.

It was NFL Properties, who were a minor sponsor of the #18 car, made the choice of helmets.

Ah crap, with Nemechek and Kyle Busch moving up, the 'C' list is really bad.
Rusty is on there in case he runs a few races as a guest driver. It's a possibility, after "silly season" starts, some owner may ask him to drive for a couple races until a new driver is hired.

Ah crap, with Nemechek and Kyle Busch moving up, the 'C' list is really bad.
I have a feeling people will win weekends based on their C-List drivers. It may all come down to luck this season...
Don't forget...Vickers and Mears also moved up. They were worthy of several starts for me last yaer.
The biggest questionmarks in the C-list group are JJ. Yeley, Reed Sorenson and David Stremme. BTW - I think ALL Rookies should sit in the C group. Hamlin, Truex and Bowyer shouldn't be in Group B until they fully prove themselves. AT least it would make it more interesting for us fantasy folk.

You may be right, I do seem to remember something about that last year.
Either way, I don't want anybody locked out from selecting their drivers, so to be safe, I would make your selections before Thursday.
Edit- You are correct, Axe.
Bonus points are awarded to each of the drivers with the four best starting positions after qualifying. The top qualifier receives 10 bonus points, the second receives five, the third receives three and the fourth receives one. Because qualifying for Daytona 500 is broken up over two days, these bonus points will not be awarded for the Daytona 500.

Top 4 qualifyers get bonus points, here is the breakdown:
1st - 10 pts
2nd - 5 pts
3rd - 3 pts
4th - 1 pt
All your drivers are eligible for these bonus points, whether you checked them or not.
There is also laps led bonuses, 10 pts for leading a lap and an additional 10 pts for leading the most but this only applies to your checked drivers.

Quick question. I have tried to change my starting drivers from week one. But I can't figure it out.
Here's my question. I selected two drivers in class A. I wanted to change one of the two drivers in my class A. Do I have to use the two I chose for week one till they both run out of races? Or is there a way around using those two?
I know that I can only use 1 class A per week. But i'd hate to use those two drivers for the first 18 weeks.
Any help be thankful!

I'm not sure when you tried to change them, Mike, but you have to do it before each Friday morning, it locks out at 5AM. Anytime from Monday thru Thursday, you should see a select button above each group (A, B and C). YES!
My drivers kicked it this week. Carl t-boned Blaney in the pits, and Harvick fell back in the pack like a box of rocks. Picking Kahne to win was nice, but so did 1/2 of the league. Grrrr.....

Its raining in Bristol. In fact, it looks like rain/snow could be in the mix for the next 24 hours....meaning qualifying could be rained out, thus the starting lineup could be determined by the overal points standings. (If this is the case, no qualifying points will be given to owners)
Anyway, it should be clear and in the upper 40s for the Cup Race on Sunday.

The starting order is being set from last year's driver points. So, the 2005 Champ, Tony Stewart, will lead from the pole!

Yeah, I forgot that they won't refer to this year's points until either after this race or the next.

I believe they always do this for the first 5-6 races. This is why it is so important for new teams to qualify, since they have no last year's points to fall back on to get them in a race.

I think that this rule sucks.
I can understand it for Daytona 500,but the season is underway.
There have been car design changes,driver/crew changes,retirements...
I remember when the defending champ had his pick on pit road, regardless of who won the pole, but they did away with that. Why not this?

I'm definitely in a slump. I miss the days of last season when I put up 300 every single week...now I can barely break 200.
I really think the "A" group is way too stacked. They should cut down the drivers in that group...or a least make us start two of them. On the flip side...the "C" group is horrible. Riggs, Yeley, Schrader and Petty are our only real options every week. I personally think every rookie should be a "c" driver. It would make things a lot more interesting. OK...i'm done whinning...
Anyway...I'm looking forward to the Richmond race this weekend. Unfortunatley I'll be in Dallas on business so I'll have to tape it and watch the excitment several days later...

I started out this season "holding back" and trying to save drivers...and look where I've ended up. I'm done with that strategy! I'm going back to my 2005 Championship Season strategy ;) where I'm picking the best every week no matter how many times I've started them. Big whoop. So what if he is fastest in happy hour with fellow 2nd tier drivers right behind him like Jarrett and Robbie Gordon? For all I know...guys like Tony Stewart, who led the first practice, may be dialed in and did mostly qualifying tests during happy hour. All that matters is if you are in the final pack on the last 2-3 laps and you have a drafting buddy.
Nems has averaged a 30th place finish on the other superspeedways this season. He was probably fast before those races too! Keep starting him...and I'll keep gaining ground on ya.;)

Not bad considering I was in last place just 5 weeks ago.
Poor Mrs. DJ made a mistake last weekend for Daytona. She picked her 8 drivers...but when she picked her final four, she only checked ONE of the FOUR by accident. It knocked her down to 10th immediately, but she has recovered nicely since Chicagoland.

Any driver who you put on your roster who had 8 total starts for the season, all of a sudden now shows as having 9 starts! I've looked at our rosters and this is effecting about 8 of the teams. The wierd thing is...it is showing the driver at "9/9" in black instead of "9/9" in red.

They're in there, not locked out so they will count this week if you use them. If they were on 8/9, then using them this week is the last time and they will be in the red next week. Does that help or am I misunderstanding something?

Actually...typically when you elect someone out of your 8 drivers who has been started 8 times, it reads; "8/9". AFTER your start them, they appear as "9/9". For instance, I've used Junior 8 times, yet he is showing as 9/9 even though I may not use him this week.
There is a lot of uproar about this on the message board at Yahoo...and from what I've read, Yahoo is aware and they are trying to fix the problem.
I'd go ahead and start who you like and hopefully it will be ok.

I know I've said it many times in the past, but I really hate how Yahoo grouped up the A, B and C drivers this year.
Look at your A lists...
Has anyone actually started McMurray this year? I'd like to see them limit the total # of drivers in this group to 7, max. That way, we could actually start a guy like McMurray or Newman.
Next year, if it were up to me I'd put Kenseth, Johnson, Harvick, Junior, Gordon, Kahne and Stewart in the A list. Only 7. All 7 drivers had 10 or more top 5s this year...so they are top tier in my book. Burton, Hamlin, Shrub and Kurt could beef up the B group along with anyone else in the top 30 in standings. THEN...you group up guys like Schrader, Petty, Nemacheck, Stremme, WAltrip...etc along with EVERY rookie. (no matter how good he is supposed to be) That way..you can actually start each of your A drivers throughout the season...you have a bunch of studs in B group to choose from...and you actually have more than 3 options (Yeley, Riggs and Sorenson) in the C group every week.
Just my 2 cents...

Yes...you have a chance, but you will also need some help. 60 points is a ton this late into the season.

How can you find out who can't use which driver?
Click on each owner...and when it shows you their hidden drivers on the Phoenix page, click "previous". It will show you their drivers from last week. Make note of who is 9/9 then click "previous" again.
Rinse and repeat until you go back about 10 races to get a good idea which drivers have maxed out on a particular driver.
