For the first two days of training camp, the Washington Redskins displayed team unity, the entire group focused on surviving two-a-day practices and improving their game.
Not anymore. Safety Matt Bowen changed the tone today when he leveled running back Trung Canidate and single-handedly split the camp into two separate groups: offense and defense.
"Trung and I are good friends, and it wasn't intentional," Bowen said after today's morning practice. "These guys are our teammates, and sometimes these things are unavoidable."

Sounds like we may have a little "Chuck Cecil" on our hands. True Skins fans know about this old "Division Terror" from years back. I remember wishing he played for us.
We still need to keep it clean at practice though.
Let's also hope Trung learned a valuable lesson too........
Don't Get Tackled !!!! :banghead:

Hard hitting. Thats what I'm talkin' about. I don't know why SS is so mad. Maybe because he is an OFFENSIVE guy:D !!!!!

If the Skins had lost their starting tailback or quarterback early in training camp because of something like this, I think everyone here would want Bowens' head.

Despite the fact that Trung could have been injured, I'm glad Bowen's showing his tenacity out there. Gives me even more confidence in him.

I'm glad that it was shown on SportsCenter. We need plays like that to be seen by the opposition to let them know that our safeties are not to be taken lightly this year.

Excellent point Kenny! WRs have been use to running across the middle without any worry. The more this is shown the less WRs will want to run a crossing pattern.
Like you said earlier, Canidate did hold onto the ball too. thats a good sign.

Stanley Richards never hit anyone that hard in a real game.

That hit was awesome. Just glad Trung didn't get hurt. Our players need to protect each other in camp and then take their aggressions out during preseason and regular season games. We don't want to take ourselves out like that. It was still an awesome hit though. Get ready Jet's fans.

I hope it sets the tone for the rest of the defense for the season. He needs to save it for the game but hot dam the FO is looking awfully smart for getting this guy.

Like i said prior, the hit shows Bowen's physical aspects, and helped alleviate fears of Trung fumbling. good hit, kudos to Trung.
