Guys with the season over and certainly alot of guys on the team comming into their own, potential wise. We have made some serious noise in the NFL this season (especially in the NFC) and you know the classic situation of supply and demand, so with that said who do you think will try to jump ship and get paid by teams in need of their services? If you ask me i hope none do so, because guys we are really on to something speacial if we can just keep everybody next season...

I don't see anyone with alot of value to other teams trying to jump ship this year.

Too much up potential for someone to WANT to jump ship. With the recent run in the playoffs combined with the signing of Al Saunders, I think we'll see players from OTHER teams selling out to go somewhere else. Possibly here...

the only free agents that i'm worried about are Ryan Clark, and to a lesser extent, Royal. those are the only two guys that have ANY value on the market that were regular contributors to our team and aren't already locked in thru next season.

me neither. clark and royal are the only free agent starters, with dockery a RFA.

Dockery will get the most actionof any of them but no one will give up a high pick for him, yet.

prolly ryan clark. he's a solid SS, but i think he's happy here, since we gave him his chance to shine, and he did. although thats been the case with the likes of pierce and such, im assuming #25 will be back next year. but if he isnt, im fine with pierson prieleau stepping in.

The only guy who I think has a chance is Ryan Clark. He could get offers from other teams. I'd be surprised if anyone goes after Royal or any of our other FAs. We don't have anyone at a Smoot or Pierce level at all right now up for free agency.

LOL what? Then why start this thread in the first place if you don't plan to contribute to it?

I don't see anyone "selling out" and leaving strictly for the money. At this time last year, no one predicted we would be in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Any of these guys would be foolish to leave what a wonderful thing Joe Gibbs has going on in DC now.

I think his parting is pretty mutual.

Good Post.

Odd, isn't it. If we didn't have all the injuries, a lot of players would most likely be on the pine until the end of the season, postseason as well.

Since they filled in and did well, in the stretch games, backing up, and got more touches, they are likely to stick it out and hope they make the roster.
The settling of the Skins roster will be more preditable this time and completed much sooner!

I think his parting is pretty mutual.Maybe. However, he sure seemed very happy being a Redskin on the sideline when we were doing very well. Sometimes, I think winning maybe more important to Patrick than starting.

Do you think he'll still feel that way if he is 3rd string?

I had to revisit this issue.

the question is who will jump ship to get paid more money for their services if I'm not mistaken. Also, you don't want to mention someone you have on your mind because you don't want to jinx it. How do you jinx a sellout is my question. Are you implying someone would want out of their current contract?

Stop before you give yourself an anurism. Anyone who wants to jump ship in the face of what could be a historical year is an imbecile.

I think Mike Sellers is gonna ask for a new deal. He's signed through 2007 (contract was for 3 years/$1.905M/$150K SB) but everytime I heard him interviewed this year, he was talking about money.

like them both ... Clark more than Royal ... and wouldnt want to lose them ...

on the other hand ... Bowen ... the big TE from Auburn (name? name? ... brain is fried) ... it would be a speed bump but not a road block

Got it. I think that we don't have any real threats. But no one saw Al Saunders coming so who knows.

Let Ryan Clark leave if he gets an offer...I'd rather have Adam Archuleta...he's a UFA and SS's don't generally get huge contracts

Thats sounds right to me. Clark may get some attention from a teams in need of Safties. Royal is solid in our system but not a player that another team can't live without.

I don't think that Ryan Clark is leaving. Not to belittle him, but I think he's just a product of the system. If we do loose him, GW will find someone else to set in. If it's big money he's seeking, then let him walk.

Clark would be a fool to leave the Skins. If he wants money then yeah go ahead and leave. But if you want a chmapionship ring, then you are in the best place possible.

Dockery is the one that I am really worried that some other team might try to snag.
Clark, I am not as worried about because we have depth at Safety with Stoutmire and Prioleau.

Pierce was originally a FA to us, so probably nothing.

Smoot was a 2nd rounder, so probably a 2nd rounder.

I had forgotten about the compensation for FA signees! There is hope during NFL Draft Day!
