Folks -

Everyone here at works bugs me to organize our annual Super Bowl squares and office pools. The squares game, for those who may not know, is a 10x10 grid where everyone puts in their name (we do a $5 and $2 per square grid) and then your randomly draw numbers 0-9 across the verticle and horizantal axis of the grid. Once the numbers are assigned, you win if the last digit of the score corresponds with the digits on tyhe grid. Simple.

But what other types of pools/bets do people do for the Super Bowl?? I'm not really talkinabout hard-core Vegas bets, but more fun stuff that could be throw out at the office or at a party.

The 100 square pool is the standard and the best one I have seen. $2-5 per square? That's for the reg season, the Super Bowl should be at least $10 per square.

Another idea is to go to a gambling site and print out a sheet with all the possible bets, make a bunch of copies of them and sell them at ($amount) a piece. Then break down the money pool so that the top 3 with the most correct answers get the money. You could do a breakdown like this - 1st= 55%, 2nd= 30% and 3rd= 15%.

For PARTIES:

Usually, my buddies and I bring a stack of 1$ bills to the game and we bet on EVERYTHING possible. Coin toss...which team will call a PA Pass first...what color ties the announcers will wear...if Team A will get their first, first down via the pass or rush...if the kicker will make/miss the upcoming FG. Its fun and spontaneous.

Yeah, I do $2 and $5 squares at the office because I think we'd have trouble selling out a 100 $10 squares. My work is a collection of casual NFL fans (for the most part) who don't care about the game and just want a little something extra to follow.

I like both the ideas about the crazy little bets.

We used to have that pool for every skins game and then a $10 square for the super bowl, but the guy who ran it left the company and nobody has spearheaded the board since last year. Kinda sucks, I played it 5 times and I won 3 times.

I enjoy the grid game, we've done it in my office for several years.

I had no idea other offices did the grid thing, I thought it was just mine. I guess since this is my first office job that would make sense.

You got that right! Time to bring your "A" game!

I played in one that was $20 a square. I won one quarter, the other 3 quarters were won by the same person with the opposite numbers of mine. I believe it was 0-3 or 4-7. Either way, where I had 3 he had 0. I was happy to win a quarter but I was pissed I didn't get the other numbers.
