Anyone else remember when fans only did this when it was a huge win, like beating number one or something? The fans at Temple just rushed the court after beating Maryland, who is only ranked 19 and just lost their top scorer. Man, this is getting annoying. :banghead:

I was embarrassed when I watched the UVA fans do it after beating UNC last week. I believe they were ranked around #21 or so at the time.

Yeah that game was one that started me thinking about this and Temple put me over the top.

Yeah, it's almost getting as bad as head coaches getting Gatorade baths anymore. It's cliche to the point of having lost any meaning.

Now dousing the losing coach in gasoline would get my attention.

How much fun is he to watch? He's in the lead now!

It is a bit annoying. But, they are all kids (players and fans alike.) I really don't have a problem with it as long as it is cool with their school and of course no one gets injured from it. I will agree it does seem to have been happening too often though.

While I agree with everyone, the one thing that I HATE fans do when they beat a higher ranked opponent is chant, "OVER RATED!!!, OVER RATED!!!, OVER RATED!!!...ect.

To me, that takes away from the victory your team has had. By saying that they are over rated lessen the W.

Everything is blown out of proportion these days in sports. I hold rushing the court in a mediocre game the same as I do when a player does a celebration dance after making a tackle on special teams.

yeah celebrating has become too excessive for such minor things(or as we like to call it, the rod gardner syndrome). but i see no problem with a struggling program like temple, that upset a ranked MD team coming off a big win over GT. leading scorer or not, let the fans celebrate their win. i dont think they all planned it before the game. but after rallying with a 17-2 run, im sure they were so excited to even think about what was going on.

I still can't believe we lost Chris McCray for the season. We might be able to slide in the Tourney.

Kudos to the Michigan fans for not rushing to court after beating Illinois tonight!
