Ive been reading posts on this forum for a while. You guys are good fans. I'm a big fan, I consider myself one of the biggest fans around. Thought I would drop some observations from todays camp:
Taylor Jacobs seems to be the real deal. Has ran alot of deep routes and had seperation on nearly every play. He beat Alex Molden on one deep route by at least 2 steps. He caught everything I saw thrown at him
Randy Thomas is powerful, very powerful. He held all of his blocks and on the goal line scrimmage he had alot of push. He and Jansen with be the best Guard/Tackle combo in the league
Laveraneus is ridiculus. Had 2 deep TD's and besides the fact that he is a burner he adjusted to bad throws and seemed to still make the catch . He is not afraid to go up for the ball either
Trung gave me bit of a relief today. He broke thru the line on one play and after a few shake and bake moves, he jetted around the sideline faster than I have ever seen a running back before. I am serious
Ramsey looked average. I dont need to say how Lavar looked b/c we all know that he is a beast. Bowen continues to impress. Hamden does have a cannon, just as good as Boller, though he is a bit raw. He took alot more snaps than Banks. Kenny Watson will be nearly impossible to get cut. He was probably the best all around back. He cuts on a dime. Trung has the game breaking ability but Watson is damn solid. He also is a good special teamer and receiver out the backfield so he will not be cut in my mind. Betts, Smoot, Tre, and Rod Jones sat out today.
Zeron didnt look too good. Lavar bull rushed him back 5 yards on one play, pushed him into ramsey, but ramsey still got the play off (it was the same play lavareneus beat champ for a td)
Zeron needs to step it up or this will be his last year. Woodcock made alot plays, but most were on scubs db's. Ohalete looked solid, he seems to always be at the right place at the right time. He had one hit that on Royal that was nice. He can get the defense pumped up like Lavar does if he hits like hes capable of. I am not worried about our starting safetys for the first time in years. David Terrell was his usual self, he blew at least 2 plays that I saw. He is nothing more than a special teamer. Watch out for safety Ricot Joseph(#35), nobody knows about him, but he is a very sold player who excelled as a special teamer last year. Both Leonard Stephens and Greg Scott looked much bigger and stonger, look for both of them to posibly be part time impact players for us.
Overall a good practice where both the D and O looked good. I think overall, the D held the edge but without 100% tackling, you never know
Thats all I have right now
I am going to camp a few more times and I will update what I see then
Keep up the good work fellas, you guys keep me busy at work
