The first ballot in the election for GOP House leadership had to be scrapped because they had more ballots cast than actual members, so reports Rich Lowry of the National Review. That's absolutely classic. The GOP even tries to steal its own elections! And you thought consistency couldn't be funny!

Roll Call has it, too:House Republicans are taking a mulligan on the first ballot for Majority Leader. The first count showed more votes cast than Republicans present at the Conference meeting.Source (http://www.rollcall.com/issues/1_1/breakingnews/12015-1.html)

Well usually they are all about undercounting ballots so in some way this is progress.

actually, it was a miscount of how many were voting. they forgot to add the delegate from Puerto Rico to the total number of people voting. whatever staffer at conference made the roster to check people off used the list of members with voting rights on the floor rather than those that have voting rights in the conference.
