Here are some clips from a classic game, the first game of the 1982 regular season in Philly. I described on my site in detail the plays you'll see, but basically you'll see the incredible gifts of Art Monk on display here, as he singlehandedly wills the Skins to a great comeback and OT win against the Eagles.

Also of note, the guy he beats like a drum all day is Herm Edwards. Look for him, #46. First Riggins runs him over, then Monk beats him all day long. Not a good day for Herm "We play to win the games! Hello?" Edwards.

Anyway, it's a RealVideo file, so you'll need RealPlayer to view it. Hope you all enjoy it!! And go, Art! HOF or bust, baby!!

Hard to believe Mosely could kick that far after just taking 2 steps. Nice vid, Monk was on fire that game.

Incredible highlights. You're right, I can even tell from the compressed web file how good the quality is. Looking forward to seeing this one!

Awesome! Got Moseley started towards his MVP season. Remember his kick that year against the Giants in the snow? Same game where Theismann laid a block out to spring Joe Washington. Thanks for the clips.

Every clip you show of Art Monk exudes class. That first catch shows what he was all about.

The man simply gets punished for not being the photofit deep running receiver yet if we were to go through the highlights we would see plenty of key deep balls caught.

WWD if you ever put together that Video of Monk, I will pay you $30 for a copy.

No, no, no. If I ever put it together (and I will if he doesn't make the Hall this year), I'll make it available for all to download and share. I hope he gets in, because, quite frankly, it'll take a long time to go through all those games and find the best catches, but I'll do it if I must....:-)

Glad everyone's enjoying the clips...

WWD this is the umpteenth video you have done that shows great plays by Monk. I especially remember the playoff victory against Philly where the Safety takes a shot at Monk whilst he is running his route yet he withstands the shot and makes a breathtaking leaping catch.

If you put that video together it will be something very special. I enjoy your Video's very much. Thank you.

Thanks a lot, Flave. But it's going to take a LOT of clips to make the video I want to make. What I would do is start the thing with Monk breaking the all-time record on that MNF game and then hearing Dierdorff, Gifford and Michaels talking about him being a lock for the HOF....then....flashback to the earliest game I have and move forward and then repeat the opening like a bookend.

Good luck, to Monk and yourself! You are a TRUE redskins fan.

That's an excellent idea! It's going to be great and a slap in the face to idiots like PK and Mr. Z or whatever his name is. I'm sure they'll love it.

Want to share a short story with everyone.

When I was young (10-13) I learned everything about football (and a little about other sports) from a male friend of my mothers. I never knew his favorite team, but since I was in NY it was probably the Giants. Anyway, this man was a SPORTS ENCYCLOPEDIA! He knew EVERYTHING. I would ask ANY question about ANYTHING I he would give the answer. He knew dates, titles, records, names, big games, and, among other stuff, HOF.

I became a skins fan during the great 91 season. That season I must have asked him about 6 million questions about the NFL, but mainly the skins. He knew a lot about the redskins. He always told me that the skins had a classy organization, tradition and probably the best fans in the NFL. His words! I love the redskins thanks a lot to this friend.

We talked about Monk, especially when he broke the record the following year. He really admired him, said he was one of the all time greats. This was more than 10 years ago and I haven't seen this man since, but I remeber this like it was yesterday.

One day I asked him if Monk was going to the hall of fame.

He said "Of course, no doubt about it"
