This is the last competitive game of the football season.
We should relish this time because the withdrawls are going to set in.
Go SeaHawks!!!

So I have a hockey game at 8 pm mountain time :( . The super bowl starts at 4 here so kickoff by what, 4:30 maybe, then around 4 hours to play the game. I'm hoping for a bad super bowl so that I don't mind leaving the couch and my case of Fat Tire.

This game is a carbon copy of the Redskins game with the Seahawks. Pittsburgh's first 4 drives all starting at their twenty yard line and they can't change field position.
Actually, that INT just thrown by Big Ben equivalent to a punt for Pittsburgh.

French production of SB XL is a kind of train wreck. It's the first time that it is done by public Tv (for the last 18 years it was done by the French equivalent of HBO). AT least they have the only french who played in the NFL (Tardits who played with the pats in the early 90s).
They have massacred the beautidul (my opinion) version of the anthem by Aretha and one of the Neville brothers.

Well, the Pittsburgh D finally got a stop without giving up two or three first downs. Now the Pittsburgh O needs to get two or three of their own and get some points.

The line judge didn't initially call it a TD. After Ben hit the ground he then moved the ball across and then the line judge signaled TD.

Holmgren doesn't look happy. Normal, his Qb doesn't make great throws (the last 2 were so so - very difficult to keep them on the field) + he got robbed of a TD or 2 (one on offense, one on defense).

The WR didn't need to do it to catch the ball, so he shouldn't have done it at all. I know it happens on nearly every passing play, but when you do it right in front of the back judge, you're going to get flagged for it.
Close, but correct call.

It happens more often than not, but not usually in front of the backjudge. It stood out because he was going to his left and his right arm was extended against the defender. The back judge really didn't have a choice but to call that.
Now the Big Ben TD on the other hand....I am at a loss of words to explain that one.

I felt that it was two TD's they could have had. One with being out of bounds near the goal line and the obvious heist by the zebra in the end zone. However, the OPENING of the second half and only down by 4 points is no excuse for the Seahawks.

If the Seahawks go deep it will signal what Holgren will do EVERY series and he won't stop - throw, throw, throw. The reason being, aside from the one sack in the first half, Pittsburgh's blitzes are too late or ineffective when they do it.
In order to keep pressure up, they may want to STUNT the linemen to jump start them. They reallyaren't getting in there
bgforever
02-05-2006, 08:05 PM
Holgren doesnt' agree but Shaun can't move - JJ can't find the ball, but as I thought, Holgren's intending pass all the way every series

Exactly I was surprised how Seattle's D kept it close to be honest. However, I am more surprised at the zebras and the discipline of Seattle's offense, clock management, strange calls.
Their offense in the first half was getting back to the huddle and doing their jobs, while in the second half, they began to trash talk, moving too slowly off the filed, taking away seconds on each series, forcing Hasslebeck to wait.
Meanwhile the D screwed them on a few occassions, taking up time in the last 10 minutes flirting with trying to get revenge!

If you're talking about the Big Ben TD, the ball did hit the line and thats all that's needed. The calls were even and fair. The Offensive interference call was right, they will call that every time if you do it right in front of an official.

he clearly pushed him. Randy Moss used to get away with that all the time, but they decided to crack down on it. If you do it 20 yards away from an official, they won't call it. But when you do it 4 feet, right in front of one, they'll call it everytime. The Hawks need to look at all their drops and the terrible clock management if they want to blame anything. Or the terrible pass that Hasselback threw in the red zone.

When an OLineman wraps his arm around a LB's neck, they'll call that as holding. When an OT pulls down a LB by his jersey, they'll call that too. If the Hawks couldn't get big plays without holding, thats their fault. I thought the officiating was fair.
