Coach Spurrier
Q: Is Ladell Betts's elbow something you're worried about?
A: Well, it's concerning when nobody hits you, and you fall and put your elbow down and get hurt. Usually injuries don't occur that way, but that happened, and Darnerian sort of pulled him hamstring a little bit stretching, so I mean we've got hopefully not get hurt like that. But I guess sometimes it happens that way.

Thanks, Mike. Coaches seem to understand injuries that arise from contact, but non-contact injuries really annoy them. This appears to be true for just about all coaches, not just Spurrier.

Did Spurrier actually say Darnerian's name right?

Seems like a high number of injuries after only a few days of camp.
Also, Spurrier's comments have been testy over the past couple of days, don't you think?

Lavar said:I tell you, I don't like to see a fight break out, a scuffle, and I'm not involved. I was disturbed.
I think that pretty well sums up, Lavar. Upset because someone else was fighting instead of him and definitely--definitely disturbed.

Considering his raw talent and ferocious nature, I have not seen a linebacker of his potential since LT.

Well, we're faster than last year, but it doesn't matter how fast you are if you can't get the ball out and can't run and all that kind of stuff.
It's this kind of stuff that really encourages me about Spurrier learning the tricks of the trade in the NFL.
Sounds like the offense wasn't so hot today, but apparently yesterday they did well. Still up and down.
