Walls visited the Packers and was offered a contract as did the Redskins and Bucs I believe.

Obviously these teams see something in him at 37...what is your view?

Walls would be the #2 TE behind Franks in GB but would he be the starter in DC?

Last year we signed Nickerson and he had game early but didn't have the legs left to be the contributor everyone thought he was going to be.

Hard to say where he would line up here. I'm still shocked that after three day of camp our FO felt the need to offer him a deal.

It was only a basic deal... not much threat there... and if we get a talented TE out of the deal then who do we cut?

I'd cut Flemister before Royal. I know we haven't really seen Royal, but we've seen Flemister, and I'd go with the cut because we've seen him.

If you'd noticed ealier this spring The FO attempted to sign Ernie Conwell and interviewed other TEs. So this is not something new. The part that is new is Walls is now in shape and has become a viable option.

We just resigned Fleminster to a 3 year deal at the end of last year. Why would Green Bay want him when they have Bubba Franks ? Seems like an aquisition that neither team really needs. Aren't there any DT's that we could possibly get?

In Green Bay Franks is a great option and if he goes down they could really use a Wesley Walls. He might get more action in GB as a back up than here as a a starter

Develop the young players. I'd rather see the playing time go to Robert Royal & find out what he's got. In long run Walls at 37 can have no long term effect. And how much can he do in the meantime.

I feel we've seen enough of Flemister to know what we've gotten. He's a run of the mill average guy. But for continuaty I'd prefer him over Walls anyway.

I don't like the idea of signing Walls either. Let the young guys play. I've been looking at the roster and trying to figure out how they were going to keep Stephens, assuming that Flemister and Royal are 1 and 2. I like the 3 we have, and I am always a fan of getting younger, not older. Walls has no long term value.

Youth rules - develop what we have. And BTW..... how big an offensive weapon is the TE in the "Fun 'N' Gun" system that Coach SS intends on continuing????
