Here we go again. Per Wally Bruckner (Channel 4), Banks has been released, and Wuerrfel should be in camp tomorrow.

I think this also may be a signal to Rob Johnson to get it together soon or else.

Hmmmm.... I'd consider it more of a signal to Hamdan than to Johnson.

I'd consider it a stupid ass move. Woeful should not even be near D.C. To heck with this security against al queda, where's the security at that shouldn't let Woeful even near the place. Get him out of here.

Banks is gone already??? Man, i was hoping that we could see him in preseason at least.

I think it is a message to Rob... I think releasing Banks shows how the team feels about Hamden's potential.

Let's have a collective prayer that no backup sees larry moore's arse in any game this year.

They are enamored by Hamdan. I'm taking into account that he is young and coachable. I haven't heard a bad thing about the kid since camp has started. I can't say the same about Johnson however. Hamdan would be willing to jump off a bridge right now if he thought it would impress the coaches. Also, the cap savings would be greater if it came down Johnson over Hamden.

I too have think this is a signal to Johnson. Actually, I think signing Wuerffel is all but the writing on the wall that Johnson is out the door. They'll keep Hamdan for the reasons rskinsfan said previously. Johnson was quoted last week saying something like, "You can't expect a veteran to change his mechanics".

If you want to make the team, you better listen to the coaches. If they want to work on your release or where you hold the ball, you do it.

it's not easy learning another system carmike. I'm sure rob will be able to catch on soon.

Could DW actually be our starting QB again somewhere down the road. We all know how Ballcoach switches his QB's. If Pat starts to struggle, then what?????

Rob Johnson is probably gone.

I think it is more os a signal to Johnson. Hamdan is here to stay, has looked good, great arm strength and will be a project. BUT, Rob Johnson has not looked well at all and this may be to step up pressue on him.

Just liek i thought, he is brought into to compete with RJ. I dont think they are happy with RJ at all. Ram and Hamdan are locks

I think its a signal to Johnson too although i really dont agree with them cutting Banks.

Has anyone thought that Banks is just that bad? And maybe Werefull was brought back to teach Hammad while the other two get all the snaps? There is no way we go into the season with our top 2 QB's having a collective 5 starts in the nfl

I really like this move. I wanted Danny resigned all along and felt like he would be a good tutor for Ramsey and if needed due to injury start a couple of games. I thought he played ok last year.

Good Move

me too Brett, in fact I was one of the more critical of the Rob Johnson signing. I liked all the off-season additions except RJ. In fact, at one point, i could not understand why they just did not resign Wuerffel or Kent Graham. Both are better than RJ.

i dont know about you all, but this scares me. i know spurrier has said that ramsey is the QB and that he wont be playing QB roulette but, if ramsey struggles in a game or two, whats stopping SS from putting wuerffel in? i never liked the rob johnson signing either but i think its good to have a guy that has at least started some games on the roster.

I was thinking the same thing too Lady. You have to wonder if the temptation will be there if Ramsey falters even in the slightest.

I also think it's a good move, as long as he's a tutor for Ramsey and used in the standard NFL backup QB manner. No switching to Danny if Ramsey has a bad half. No rotating QBs. No Las Vegas oddsmakers for who the Skins' starting QB will be every week. Wuerffel comes in if and only if Ramsey gets injured. I trust him enough to run the offense efficiently, if not prolifically, for a short period of time. I don't trust him to be starting QB for 6 or 7 games if Ramsey plays poorly.

wow, this is a shock, I am surprised it took this long. Banks might have beenthe runner up for the Heisman but there is a reason he was not drafted. I have also never been happy with Johnson getting signed here. I think Woeful played well enough to earn the back up role here

I'm sorry guys, but I disagree. Maybe Graham over johnson, but not woeful. I just remember too many games he could not get the ball to the receivers on time or threw it far enough. I remember when Terry Bradshaw said woeful throws the softest ball he's ever seen-and that WAS NOT a compliment. I know the qb market is bad but they should have looked somewhere else besides johnson and woeful

Spurrier's obsession with that joker is old already. The guy stinks, plain and simple. He may know the system well and he may be able to coach the othe guys but if they are serious about giving him a shot at wearing a Skins jersey come opening day then I want some cash back on my ticket.

Danny knows his position. He knows he's not competing for No. 1.

that is what I wanted to hear

JoeDaSchmoe

Yeah, but remember, Spurrier said that last year every time he switched QBs.

"Matthews is our starter. He'll be our #1 QB for the year."

"We believe Danny will be able to lead this team for the rest of the year."

"We'll be playing Patrick for the rest of the season. He's our starter."

"Shane's gonna be our starting QB for the remainder of the season. We think he gives us the best chance out there."

"Danny's gonna be our quarterback for the rest of the games we play. He knows the system and puts us in the best position to win."

And so on and so forth....

I know I have no reason to believe it but I think SS is smart enough to let Ramsey in unless he has to come out

I have confidence in Ramsey's game. The way that Pat was playing at the end of last year (even with that line and those WR's) he was still unbenchable.

I look at this as a positive. A little more experience and insurance. At least we can enjoy Danny's numbers in preseason, :)

Let me throw this out there. Suppose Wuerffel outperforms Johnson for the rest of TC, which is not that big of a leap considering the way Johnson has performed thus far. That puts it down to Johnson and Hamdan for the third spot. Do you foresee SS keeping Rob of Gibran for the third spot?

I think that if it comes to that, Johnson will be gone, as SS will not want to risk exposing Hamdan to the waiver wire before he has a chance to sign him back to the PS. Otherwise he would not have drafted him to begin with.

I think signing Danny is bad news for Johnson.

This move makes me sick. I thought we were finally rid of that jacka$$. I think when/if he takes the field I'll probably puke and for the first time ever change the channel during a Skins game. I cannot root for him.
