Rob Johnson just got the news about Danny being signed.
He did this  ...........and it knocked him out of his chair. Now has mild concussion and a spranged throwing hand.
Oh and his wife sacked him for not changing his mechanics.:smash: :twak: Brused ribs and a stubbed toe.
Could be out for some time guys.......... :kidding: :kidding:

Hey, Johnson brought this on himself with poor play.

I hope it's just about the back up spot and not the starter. Maybe ramesy isn't where the ol'ball coach thinks he would be. I think i'm really paranoid, right everybody?

I might have to issue you a gag order for that comment, gibbswasgod...

trust me, i don't like saying these things, but sometimes it's better to get it off my mind. It's also better to see what other skins fans think.

Dammit Gibbs, that thought hadn't occurred to me, now you've got me worried!
On the other hand, I heard Ramsey had a really good practice today, so I don't think this signing would come on the heels of that if Spurrier were so worried about him....
Oh, and very nice, Luv. :lol1:

I honestly believe SS learned his lesson last year and knows that DW is a good back up and Ramsey is the man here

Sorry, I'm not convinced at all that spurrier learned his lesson. He continued to shuffle qbs around at uf even when he said he settled on one. Bad vibes here guys. Trust me, I'd love to be wrong-if I am, I'll admit it.

You are correct but I don't know why but I believe he learned something from last year. This is a man who has never been afraid to switch QBs. He did in college and still won, he did it in the pros and didn't win so I think he will try to stay with Ramsey as long as he is healthy

I guarentee you all that Ballcoach will be switching back and forth between his QB's again just like last season.
That is the way he does things. I voiced my displeasure about this last season and it may come again.
We know that Pat is gonna make a lot of mistakes because he is a youngster. But that does not mean that we need to yank him for every little thing.

I have to agree with Skins57. I think SS realized that DW isn't a NFL caliber QB. He'll only get in the game if Ramsey goes down. (knocking on wood) He has be quoted several times that thats the mistake he made last year. Believing to much in the two UF QBs...

I blame the FO for bringing in this clown in the first place. There had to be someone better then him out there, when the off season began.

jake delhomme would have been a decent backup. we should have tried to sign him. he has a great arm, he's young. he has little NFL experience, but that is better than rob johnson with experience.

I doubt Spurrier wants to bench Ramsey. He has heaped nothing but praise on the boy. He's a straight shooter an therehas been absolutely no indication that Ramsey's place nder center is in jeopardy.

Are you guys out of your minds?
I saw SS in an interview and he said that there was
NO QB controversy this year. Ramsey is the number one man, he said that DW knew he was coming on board to compete for the backup position.
I think this is a good move, he has experience, he knows SS offense and he's been with the Skins before. I don't think he'll be here long though, because ultimately we need youth.
But did you know that Wuerffel has a CD out?

Not out of our minds, just cautious is all. Spurrier can say what he wants in the safe confines of preseason, but not even he knows what he'll do when the heat of battle in the regular season starts and Ramsey struggles (which he will-only five NFL starts-he's bound to struggle). The o-line last year wasn't the only problem woeful had. He simply does not have a strong enough arm for the NFL, and with the addition of speed to the wr corps, SS is going to want to go long and woeful simply can not do that. If Ramsey goes down, or is benched the entire game plan changes.

mtownskinsfan, I'm glad you see what I see. Sure Pat is the starter and he very well should be but on the other hand, we know how coach works.
Pat has only started 5 games and he is gonna make a whole lot of mistakes this season. That's just part of being young.
And what do you think Ballcoach is gonna do. He will yank him in a heartbeat in order to get a win. Just watch and see.
This is not negative or anything but we can't see something that's not there.
I think Pat will have a nice season but....it's that but that scares the hell out of me.
Yall remember that we can only go as far as a second year QB will take us, remember that.

I don't disagree with either of you, this is real life after all, but
just so that everyone realizes that RJ and DW are the backups, Ramsey will start, there is NO controversy.
(How many years have we had a QB controversy in Washington?~shudder~)

I applaud bringing in DW as a backup. He can help us alot more through tutoring Ramsey then either Banks or Hamden could with their clipboards. Hell, he may even be able to get Johnson in the realm of ready in case of an injury to Ram.

I also think bringing in Danny MAY turn out to be positive in the end. He and Ramsey have a great relationship... last year Ramsey sought Danny out to help him after every play. Danny is a guy with a golden personality, dynamite morals... but no arm strength. He has a mind like a whip that has this system down pat... if anyone can help Ramsey get better it is him.
I like Danny as a person... need more of these million dollar babies in the NFL to be like his character... but his talent level just isnt high enough. I dont think Spurrier will revert back to that unless things are desperate... and if that is the case then the season is lost anyway.

But why are we paying Danny to be a babysitter and mentor? That makes no sense to me. He can't get the job done if Ramsey goes down we all know. Johnson is going to be a dud. I personally felt that we should have kept Shane Matthews. He would have made a better backup.

first off welcome aboard awayfromhome, hope you stay with us. Second I agree and disagree with you on Mathews. He would have made an excellent backup but his attitude would have not helped the team. Seems all last year he could not wait to get out here. He would have not been a good mentor to Ramsey.

LMAO! thats him alright! i listened to go tell it on the mountain, lol. i'll just say this. danny seems like a really good guy and what he is doing with the proceeds (if any!) is a good thing, but....i'll just say that he needs the redskins more then the redskins need him.

After all the bashing I've done on the guy, I will admit Wuerfull is a good guy to have on the team-just wish it was as an assistant, that way spurrier wouldn't be tempted. Like I said, he is a decent guy and the NFL does need more people like him.
