Shawn Barber was just cut by the chiefs. I wonder if there is a possiblity that he would wear burgundy and gold again. I don't really know his health situation, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

He couldn't even get on the field for the Chiefs that last couple seasons, he's probably finished.

he hasn't been healthy since he left(knee's). he was good when he left, but not anymore. we would be better served bringing in young talent. i really like dqwell jackson, but some scouts were put off by his combine time 4.7. if we can get him with our third round i would be estatic, mind you at the beginning of the year he was projected mid-first round.

I think he would be classified now as a "real" Redskin. But I think his injuries will be the deciding factor for our team not to bring him back.

If he is willing to play on a one year vet minimum contract he could be the backup holdman was supposed to be this year.

I'll bring anyone in at the vet min with no signing bonus. Why not? If a rookie beats him out then we just release him.

Maybe we should have a "Former Redskins who's been cut, should we bring him back?" thread.......

Is he gonna start for the Eagles? That wouldn't bode well if he does, he was part of that piss poor tackling effort from the Chiefs.

I know, I know but I thought I would just let ya know that we picked up one of your beloved former players. By the way, what would you think if the Eagles got Bentley? Ya think it would be a good acquisition?

Just wanted to say we signed him for a 1 year deal and I think he was brought in to compete with McCoy, but most likely be the backup WLB and to play in the Nickel D.

Barber's not exactly beloved, he was a decent player when he was here but he's mostly forgotten now since he went on to have no real success in KC.

Bentley would be a big signing for the Eagles, I personally hope it doesn't happen. Who is going to replace Runyan on the line, I've heard he is almost certain to be leaving. I'm hoping there is at least one big trouble spot on that Philly line. :)

Bentley is highly regarded. And yes, we know you guys will likely sign him.

honestly, what did you expect? some gut wrenching scream: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eh well, he had other probs when he was here. however, its been awhile. he wasnt here that long anyway to be a "beloved" player.

I guess the Iggles are taking a flyer on their old player. I didn't expect him to come back here. Hopefully he can recover from those injuries (but not when playing against us!!!).

The Eagles seem to have good luck with returning players. Anyway, its a small gamble. Just one year to see if he can prove himself. The worst that can happen is we use him as a situational player to keep those 'old' legs from crumbling.

I agree. I see it as a win for the Iggles since they only sign him to a one year deal.

You guys probably won't get Arrington though:
Eagles | Arrington not on team's radar
Thu, 9 Mar 2006 05:25:30 -0800

Bob Grotz, of the Daily Times, reports free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) is not currently on the Philadelphia Eagles' radar. Arrington has expressed a desire to remain in the NFC East by signing with the Eagles or New York Giants.

I believe they're not finished with the OL yet (Hutchinson??). There are some rumblings regarding switching of positions on the OL. If Andrews remains at RG we’d be looking at:

OT
Tra Thomas
Herremans
Armstrong
Pick or FA?

Interior Line
Bentley
Andrews
Hicks
Jackson
Fraley?
Clarke?
Young?
Darilek?

Man, that interior of the line would be ridiculous. We could pull any of those top 3.

I agree. Arrington is not discipline enough for JJ's schemes. He's a loose cannon.

If the Eagles sign LaVar to start at LLB alongside Trotter and Barber, maybe they can also name Norv as their new head coach! Where is Sterling Palmer when you need him?

Even though Trotter never played for ol' Norv, anyone who drop in a "Sterling Palmer" reference is ok in my book. :D

Beloved?? Haha... Much less than that. Bentley would be a great pick.... and we know he is going to Phily.... (can we say tampering?)

Believe me, I had nothing to do with the signing. I understand the deal is for $750K salary only. No signing or roster bonus. How can you lose? He can be cut with no dead money hanging over the Eagles head. He genuinely wanted to be back in Philly and was willing to accept that deal. Its a win-win.

DMac is a free agent............
