Maryland High School Basketball Tournament

Are any of you guys planning on making it to the Comcast Center this week to check out the (boys) state high school tourney? My alumni (Long Reach HS) won the 3A east region by beating Annapolis last night and will go onto to face Seneca Valley (dont we have some Eagles alumni in the house?) this upcoming Thursday at 5. Long Reach hasnt been this far since my freshman year of high school, so I feel compelled to go. Anyone else?

I would've gone to Seneca, but I moved. I still have some friends there and they always tell me about this kid named Andrew Murphy. He's 5'9" and the best dunker on their team. He is supposedly really really good. I kinda wanna go and check it out.

im not sure which one was andrew murphy, but he wasnt a factor tonight, lol. my team defeated SV to move on to the 'ship on saturday. go LR!

Yeah, I heard about the game. SV's second leading scorer had 17 or something, didn't he?

Also, I heard your team has this kid who had 33 pts and something like 17 rebounds. Not sure though. They also said he averages 28 PPG. That's crazy

There's about a 75% chance I'll be up there for the 4A final tonight between Roosevelt and Whitman. Whitman is my rival school, but I''ve got to support Bethesda when in a state final. They really came out of nowhere this year, but only lost 3 times this season playing in Montgomery County, which probably had it's strongest year ever as a region.

yeah, thats darryl webb. he is a beast, as you would say. he had 33, 18 rebs and 7 blocks.

i watched 3 games today and all were very exciting. the most important game was my squad long reach and lackey. i got to the game and we were down 10-2 (and down by as many as 15) and the first i noticed was that darryl didnt have any points. well, when we got there he started to score and ended up with 18 points i think. to make a long story short, the long reach lightning are state champs baby! i feels good although i graduated 6 years ago. we got to the finals in my freshman year and hadnt sniffed the finals since then. the best thing is that we are only 10 years old.....

thursday and today, whitman brought at least 6,000 supporters with them. it was bananas. they reminded me of dook fans, so i cheered against them. :D i was really impressed with roosevelt and unimpressed with whitman on thursday and i still cant believe whitman beat roosevelt tonight. i thought they would mop the floor with whitman but the guy (i called him little jj) who i believe is the leading scorer in mont co. had a great game and roosevelt's best player only had like 9.
