Ranked #1 on a top 10 list of players not in the hall that should be.

Best thing i've seen in awhile.

That made my afternoon. Art was indeed a special player.

Monk is highly underated! I really think he should have made the Hall of Fame this year! I don't worry too much, b/c I know his day will come, hopefully next year...I will be there when it does come!

Thanks for the update truant. I hadn't heard of it while I was watching ESPN. Its about time someone is giving the man his overdue props.....

Maybe they should waive the 5 year waiting period for Darrell and let Darrell go in with Art

Easily in my top three favorite Redskins of all time. Love the way he played the game. If it touched his hands, he caught it. Great work ethic. Just a great receiver.

It's about time. Maybe someday we'll be able to take him off that list.

Monk was the man.. He just wasn't the media type. He should be D. Green's Vice President.:Peace: :typeR2:

There is no stronger case for Monk being in the HOF than Fred Biletnikoff, who is in the HOF. Monk has more career yards, catches and 100 catch seasons. Monk set that standard high before the passing game really came en vogue in the 90's.

The critics always fall back on the fact that Monk never caught a touchdown in the Super Bowl. Well, that is one thing he does have in common with Fred.

If you retire holding multiple records for your position, you should go in on the first ballot. Arthur Monk was far better and more consistent than many already in the Hall. He better get in next year.

An absolute travesty...

He was the first WR to catch over 100 balls in a season...
Held longest game streak with a catch...
Held most receptions record....

Its really a joke if you ask me :banghead:

I still can't comprehend why the guy isn't in the Hall yet, a guy who has no businees being in the Hall w/o a ticket is there in Lynn Swann but Art Monk isn't. It baffles me.

Yeah, Monk needs to get in. It pisses me off that players with more "face time" on tv get in, but those that legitimately earned it can't. Like the whole Terrell Davis debate...The boy was incredible, for a couple years and a super bowl. Or Marino...is he not a first ballot because he never won a super bowl? that's rediculous.

To the never ending, undying shame of the voting members of the Hall of Fame I have only this to say:

Remove your cranial capsules that are implanted so deeply in your rectal canals and elect Art Monk, # 81 of the Washington Redskins to the National Football League Hall of Fame.

In doing so you will rectify the travestys you have perpetrated on the sports fans of the NFL and in some small measure redeem yourselves in my eyes so that I will no longer have to refer to you collectively as low life, mouth breathing, scum sucking, nose picking, butt licking beings!

Nuff said. :cussing:

Monk belongs there period. His stats prove it. I wish Gibbs would push hard for the man.

Two frustrating reasons why Monk is not in the HOF. 1) He's not a TV personality like Lynn Swann 2) He was only in 3 Pro Bowls which are far, far overvalued IMO. Pro Bowls are a mark of a good player, sure, but the # of appearances shouldn't be the top line on your career tombstone. What about team accomplishments, individual stats/records, actual playing ability analyzed, and character? No, its all about how often you're seen and how many pro bowls. Period. That doesn't tell the whole story. The voting process for the Pro Bowl is almost as ridiculous as the HOF. Not really, but its up there.

Pro Bowl voting is quite ridiculous, but mostly because you can't fit all the players who have an argument to be there and then it just comes down to personal biases.
