View Full Version : just got more hatred for Carolina

As some of you all may know, I live about 15 miles south of Charlotte and I hear and see a lot of things about the Panthers. (it makes me sick)
I just visited a panthers message board on Charlotte.com and you know what they were saying about the game.

1. They were talking about Julius Peppers breaking Patrick Ramsey's leg and knocking him out of the game Saturday. That made my blood boil. A meaningless preseason game and they wish bodily harm on our QB.

2. They were talking about how last season's Skins win was a fluke.

I am all fired up for this one. I hope they get the hell beat out of them. Yall excuse me, but it's football season and I want a waxing of the panthers from Charlotte.

Maybe some of you all can hop over there and give your 2 cents, or that asking for trouble?

Does Carolina ever really have a shot against us?

Shabba
08-04-2003, 06:16 PM
They almost got us a couple of times. As a matter of fact, most of the games between the two was decided by a TD or less.

Last preseason, the Panthers were driving for the winning TD against us and Randy Fasani (think that's his first name) through an interception that sealed it for us.

So most of the games against them have been very close.

Shabba, I feel your pain. I cannot stand the Panthers either. Probably for the same reasons as you. Their fans are the most ignorant fans when it comes to football.

But, this does not include the MB called Panther Pride. They are in our IFS alliance. For the most part they are very friendly posters.

As for Charlotte.com.....those guys are just plain stupid. Just about every day you can go over there and find 1 or 2 threads about the Skins. We're not even in their division and yet they have this obsession about the Skins. I guess since they haven't beaten us yet could have a part in that. Plus, there are A LOT of Skins still in the Carolinas.....

Screw the Panthers.....

Yeah they do, I think they'll be pretty good this year and will compete for a WC spot. The NFC South is the the toughest div in the NFC.

Wild Card spot's unlikely. They'll probably be 8-8. If they were in the NFC North they'd have a chance, but down there in the South, they're uyp against three better teams.

Bunch of idiots over there. I post mostly at the Lair at NFL Fans and Panthers Pride.

That being said obnoxious fans is something we all have to deal with. I am a Panther PSL and season ticket holder and by far the worst most obnoxious fans that come to Erricson are Cowboys and Redskins fans. The first time we played you guys was an opener in 96 after our only playoff year. There was this one Redskin fan who was just hanging out in the bathroom running his mouth at all the Panther fans. I think he just liked the view. Only loosers pull for someone to get injured.

Looking forward to our matchups this year. Steven Davis is looking great. Our D should be able to take a little fun out of the Fun and Gun. Peppers has added about 30 lbs of muscle and gotten faster!

Good luck this season and no injuries this week.

That game against the Panthers was a preseason game, I believe. Hard to get too worked up about that. My number one priority for this and every preseason game is to keep our players healthy. Compared to that, nothing else is of consequence. The Panthers can have this game--I'll settle for watching none of our guys being carried off the field.

No, the Panthers will not be a playoff team this year. Someone tell me the last time Rodney Peete led a team to the playoffs.

Did anyone mention how hot Rodney Peetes wife is.. wooo whooo

Sorry got carried away.

Welcome to hR Rob. We still got a lot of Luv around here for S. Davis. We know he is a quality back that we hated to see leave. I am just glad we don't have to play you guys twice during the season. S. Davis is a class act. He luvs sunflower seeds too.:D

Hopefully things will go well for both teams. Injuries is a part of the game but we are hopeing that both teams come away injury free.

I said they'd compete for a WC spot, they'll probably fall short but they should fall into that 7-9 to 9-7 range.

I really don't think the Panthers can compete for a WC spot in the NFC South. They would have to finish better than any two of the Saints (doable), Falcons (within the realm possibility, but for intents and purposes, quite improbable) and the Bucs (just won't happen). Other than Peppers, no one on their D even remotely scares me.

They could beat us, but i doubt they will. I'm pretty sure Jansen mauled Peppers last year.

If Jenkins plays like he did last year, I'd take him in a heart beat. He's one of their DTs...

I do not think I have never heard a poster over here wish an injury on any teams players. Thats class.

That is the rub for us. If we played in any other division in football it would be much easier. Actually we played the Bucs tougher than the other teams last year. Should have beat them at home had Steve Smith not fumbled a punt late in the 4th. We were 1-5 in the NFCS to finish 7-9 last year.

As far as the D line you are misinformed. Jenkins and Buckner are very solid in the middle and rank very high QB hurries as well as stopping he run. Rucker on the other side of Peppers keeps O lines honest. He is a probowl caliber DE as well.

Our problem is scoring points and secondary pass coverage.

JoeDaSchmoe
08-05-2003, 12:35 PM
Yeah, the Panthers have a great D line, there's no argument there. As Rob said, though, the secondary could use some work....

OMG! I was just over at Charlotte.com and they were talking some major shite. Saying that back in 2000 that Redskin fans were calling into a radio talk show changing their allegiance over to the Ravens! LMAO

Those guys are the biggest bunch of %&$(% heads i've ever seen. They are moving ever so closely to becoming the most hated team for me......even over the Cowboys........

Let's hope for a great game on Saturday and that no one gets hurt.

Shabba, no. I try not to get involved with those kind of posters. Thats all they are after. Try to bait you into a pissing war. I don't get into that. I suck at smack! LOL

I do know a lot of cool Panther fans though. I guess when people can talk crap without having to worry about the consiquences, its bound to happen. Most of the "smackers" wouldn't have the balls to do it face to face.

I know some good Cat fans too but the most of them hate the Skins to the core and they don't mind tellin ya. And the really sad part about it is that they used to be Redskins fans. Can you believe that.
I always thought that a Skins fan was born and bred. These people claimed to be dieheart Skins fans at one point but now they hate the ground they walk on.

Please help me understand this.

CarMike
08-06-2003, 09:26 AM
They were never true fans. I could never change my allegiance to another team. NEVER. True fans would feel the same way.

I can understand the people in Charlotte and the surrounding area who were born and bred there to cheer for the local team. But, I have absolutely no ties to the area. I was pretty much raised around Winston-Salem since the time I was 9 years old. I was born is Silver Springss Md as well.

As a matter of fact, I hate everything about Charlotte. The kids from Charlotte that went to college with my wife were the most arrogant people there. She coulnd't stand them. They thought if you didn't live in Charlotte, you weren't worth their time....

The whole city takes themselves way to serious....

I think the existence of Redskins fans in the Carolinas is fascinating. I really did expect them to disappear in 1995. I wonder what South Carolina is like. Do they favor the Panthers or do they see them as a North team? [Let's face it: South Carolinians are an ornery bunch. What do you say about a state that not only seceded from the Union, but also tried to secede from the Confederacy?!]

Can you catch Redskins games on regular TV in the Carolinas or do you need a satellite?

I'm always interested by Redskins fans in other parts of the country. Many of them became Skins fans when they were posted to the Pentagon and then sent elsewhere. But others are just Skins fans for no reason that is obvious. Don't get me wrong, everyone's most welcome and there are few things more satisfying than seeing Redskins fans on the road. CarMike

Spence, thats just another reason why I hate the Panthers. Pre-Panther, we'd get every Skins game. But, now you have to have a satelite to watch the Skins. Or get lucky and have the Panthers play on the WC or have a 4 pm start. Then we normally get the Skins. I can't take that chance. So, I have the duel satelite system. Couldn't live without it. As for why the Carolinas still have a lot of Redskins fans, I believe it has to do with the media coverage of the Redskins. We still get Sonny and the gang on the am radio station here. The interesting thing to me is that there are tons of Braves fans in the Carolinas. I don't what made them choose the Redskins in football and Braves in baseball. You would think that they would be a Falcons fan........

As for me, I was born in Silver Springs, Md.

Wait a minite. Yall lay off people from South Carolina. There are a lot of Redskins fans in SC as there are in NC but that number has dwindled since the Panthers came aboard which I fully understand.

Before the Panthers you were either a Redskins, Falcons or Cowboys fan around the Carolinas. Now you don't hardly ever see a Falcons fan but still see a ton of Skins fans.

As somebody stated earlier, you would be lucky to get 5 Skins games on tv a season. I think they show more Falcons games than Skins.

But South Carolina is a wonderful state in which to live regardless to what you hear and read to the contrary.

Spence: I have been saying this for years. I love to see Redskins fans in other parts of the Country. I know that when we used to play in Atlanta (pre-Vick), there would literally be TONS OF SKINS FANS. My family (both sides) are origionally from North Carolina (glad I wasn't born there). Man, there is STILL a large Redskins contingent down there. Big Time!!!!! CARMIKE; you are not alone down there. LOOK AROUND!!!!!!

I have no feelings one way or another about the Panthers. Maybe if they even get to a Super Bowl, then maybe we could talk. I am having a growing hatred for the Pittsburgh Steelers, though (grew up there, plus my family members give me the blues every Christmas). Hate the City........Hate the Team!!!!!!!

Spence, we still can watch the 'Skins on the local affiliate here in Columbia, SC and for the most part, in most of South Carolina.... If, the Panthers have a bye; playing at night (Sunday or Monday); playing host to an AFC team (covered by CBS.... and, also depending whether the 'Skins are playing host or visiting an AFC team); or playing a 4pm game, then the local affiliates will show the 'Skins game.... I, myself have a satellite, so I get to see the Redskins play, regardless.... There is a large contingent of 'Skins fans here in Columbia.... I still believe there a couple of "Redskins Fan Clubs" here in Columbia.... I've watched a couple of games with 'em in the past.... The most popular teams in this area (in no particular order) are Washington, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Miami and probably, San Francisco..... Columbia was the home of Redskins broadcasts since the 50's until one year in the 80's.... Actually, it was during "our" first Super Bowl title year.... In 1982, the NFC local affiliate here in Columbia decided to show the Falcons instead of the 'Skins.... WHAT A MISTAKE THEY MADE!! They were getting flooded with calls during the ENTIRE season (well.... it was a strike-shortened season, but you know what I mean. lol)!! Well.... The very, next season, it was back to 'Skins games.... It was hog-heaven (no pun intended) to watch EVERY, Redskins game.... I remember some people disliked the 'Skins in this area because of that fact. LOL They were not only tired of seeing them on TV.... But, they were also tired of seeing them win. Man! I loved it! :-) Those were the days!! I had to start going to sports bars (unless, the 'Skins were being televised by one of the local affiliates) once the Panthers "showed" up in '95.... I was really hoping that the Panthers would become an AFC team.... Eventually, they were chosen as an NFC team and the 'Skins were history, as the (televised) "home" team here in Columbia and for most parts of South Carolina.... And, I guess that is one reason why I dislike the Panthers. LOL The other reason--My dad is a Panthers/Falcons fan and a 'Skins-hata.... lol Plus, he talks plenty of trash, although, he knows only very little about the game.... Don't you hate those types? LOL

Excellent story SkinsSouth. I've had to deal with the same thing that you've been thru since the Panthers came aboard the NFL. Thats the biggest reason why I hate the panthers. Plus, most, but not all, panther fans don't have a clue when it comes football. Every year all you hear from them is this is the year we go to SB. They were even smack talkers when they lost 15 games straight two years ago.
