Has anyone else noticed this trend with gibbs? I know that this might not even be a majority thing when you consider all of the signings we've had... but think about the bigger ones.
Mark Brunell (took the jags to the afc championship)
clinton portis
santana moss (coming from a playoff year from the jets i think)
david patten (super bowl winner)
antwaan randel el (super bowl winner)
maybe christian fauria (super bowl winner)
even looking at the draft:
Sean Taylor ( DA U!!)
Carlos rogers (undeafeted auburn team)
Jason campbell (ditto)
even chris cooley played for a good utah state team i believe
I don't think this is just coincidence either. Gibbs is doing a fantastic job of building a team of winners here, and it's obviously rubbing off on the team.
thoughts?

Well, that's better than the alternative. At this level, I don't think there is much that physically separates 95% of the athletes. It's mostly mental. Gibbs wants players with that winning mindset.

A physically gifted WR with a high opinion of himself who aspires to a rapping career and wears #85? Sounds familiar, lol. I hope that's where the similarities end though.

I think this is a trend in the NFL, which means everybody is going to want our players next offseason.

He has great talent and that can be turned into wins.

I think we are bringing in good players. Good players play for good teams. Good players want to go to good teams. All these signs point success for us.

I don't think the team being a winner has anything to do with who we bring in. Coincidence perhaps.

At the WR position no, but maybe at the QB and RB because of their influence on each play. I think that there is a relationship between good players and good teams. I think that bad players are on good teams and good players are on bad teams as well. It all has to do with what your teams needs. Randel El's recent team success and individual success where what brought him here.

Good thread and it's true.
Experience does matter.
We have brought in guys who know how to win and they were cogs in a winning machine.
Let's remember that these guys aren't the marquee names like a Hienz Ward,T.O.,or Tony Gonzales.
These guys are good players and probably hard workers, who Gibbs will try and mold into a cohessive unit.
So far,I'm loving it.

He has expectations so high going into this next season. I really think that everyone will be at the top of their game.

Well, Gibbs did as much as admit it himself. At the Rogers/Campbell press conference, I remember him saying:
"Maybe we just like winners."
I think "winners" goes for all phases of life. Again, he's said, "You win with people."
There's nobody else like Gibbs in sports, which is why we love him and embrace him and watch our team transform into a force under his supervision.

I can't wait till the press conference tomorrow. I know there's more to El's signing here than merely money. I want to hear what went into the thinking all around.
I want to hear from Saunders and Gibbs about offensive plans for using all these weapons, and from Lloyd about leaving the situation with the 49ers and what he expects here.
I want to hear from Portis and Jansen (soon) about expectations within the team.
I want to hear from Patten, Moss and Thrash about what bringing in El and Lloyd will mean (no Bull Durham speak allowed).
Time for Redskins TV to get busy...
