The league has to approve the signing before it becomes official. So since it is official it means we are still under the cap.
I am talking about the "cap" situation in a couple years when "cap magic" will be necessary to pay these signing bonuses. Although it seems we are tying more of the guaranteed money to roster bonuses. Which helps if a guy gets injuried.
The "experts" have been saying we are going to be in cap hell for a long time and it has turned out so I will believe in the front office to manage these things and be happy for free agency.

Wouldnt doubt it. i'm still seeing talk about abe. from the jets possibly signing. I'm not sure i like that for multiple reasons, mainly age/money. But, if we are still looking for a DE, i dunno how much of that clemons will be doin this year.

I think a LOT of people will be saying that. I told everybody in the Lloyd thread that I analyzed his signature and he's just a guy with a big heart and a lot of emotion. Nolan is a hard a## coach who doesn't let his men be boys. No way he'd let Clinton do the wig thing.
You think players whooping it up is a sign??? Clinton and Lloyd will have that locker room dancing. "I play best when I'm smiling."
Joe knows this. He said last year, "I want guys with personality."
Well he just added three amazing ones. We're headed for glory, guys. I can FEEL it.

One thing that did suprise me in that last press conference was Gibbs talking about Betts. I will be suprised to see us keep Betts after re-signing Cartwright. But after listening to Gibbs talk about Betts and asking him about Lloyd (played together in highschool), i dunno.

I'll tell you what stood out the most to me.
Joe, Dan and Vinny KNEW this was our guy. But more than that, Brandon was nervous the whole time, worrying if he'd be part of our team. He wanted to be here. He knows he will be part of The Greatest Show on Natural Turf.
I think the Fun Bunch is back in town. These guys will be a blast to watch. I hope this erased any last shreds of doubt anybody had.

Yeah, and they can record it in Chris Samuels' studio. There seems to be a bit of destiny at work here.
Another great sign: the 49ers fans were all ragging about how Lloyd was "preoccupied" with his rap career. Didn't think he cared enough about football.
Well... Joe was the one to mention it first! We're all like, Brandon, tell us about your singing!
He's going to be happy here. And he's going to play his best football here too. The NFC East had better stock up on DBs quick.
Al Saunders must be wetting his pants.

Nobody's heard from DP yet. It's all speculation. He may be one of the guys whooping it up. Everybody seems to understand that this is Al Saunders calling plays now. The Rams showed what can happen when talented receivers slice and dice the opposition as a group.
No reason to think Patten won't be one of them. It would be nice to know he's in on the plans. He should be a dangerous weapon from the slot. El and Lloyd don't detract from his value, unless he perceives it as such. He could and likely will end up with more receptions under a Saunders scheme surrounded by talent then he would as the primary #2 someplace where there were limited options.
I'm hoping that's the way Patten sees it. Would be nice if somebody interviewed Fun Bunch II.

That's what I was thinking too. Ours would actually have singing credibility though.

Nah, I know where you're going there. I didn't mean it in a show-offy way. I just can't wait to hear how they perceive the new corps and if there's a chemistry. I strongly believe there won't be any egos here (Joe wouldn't put them together if there would). But still. I can wait. Just getting excited. You're excited too, right?

I just watched Randle's press conference and I was very impressed with him. I believe what got him is when Gibbs asked to speak to his wife. That caught him offguard as he said. He said, "you wanna talk to my wife?". That's just Gibbs being Gibbs. It's good that they told him what they're expecting of him as well. One thing I really liked is that he gave Pitt the chance to match. That told me alot about him as a person.

Just listened to all these, i found it interesting that during both the lloyd and randle el interviews it was brought up that they are crowded at the WR position, moss and the other signing were mentioned but patten's name was never spoken.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet(its a Loong thread). Here's my opinion on the conferences:
I was impressed with Archuleta's conference. I liked how much he talked about player's attitudes, the team's direction and the coaches reputations being big factors. Thats what we want players seeing when they look at the Redskins, not just dollar signs($$) but family, fun, hard work, die-hard fans and great opportunity.
Randle El had the perfect attitude. The new millenium every position player popularized by New England. How many times did he say "I'm just one piece of the puzzle?" Gotta love that team attitude.
Lloyd conference got me giddy. The man has alot of energy and fun being exuded from him. I liked his perspective on his trouble in SF, hopefully its true. I like The family mentallity that he and Gibbs seemed to already have, poking fun at each other and laughing like good friends.

Gibbs has a way of putting himself on the same level as his players. I think that is huge for bonding and player coach relationship. That can only make the learning process easier.
