Of the eight Redskins allocated to NFL Europe last January, only Jones, Smith and Williams are playing overseas this spring.
Wide receiver/kick returner Antonio Brown, who had been allocated last January, will not play in NFL Europe. Four other players allocated by the Redskins--running back Jonathan Combs, wide receiver Steven Harris, defensive tackle Aki Jones and tight end Calen Powell--have been sidelined due to injury and will not play.
If you guys remember, we allocated eight players to NFL Europe a while ago. Three are playing, four have injuries and are not playing, and Antonio Brown apparently just didn't go. He is surely gone since we signed Randel-El, and I figured NFLE would be a good chance for him to learn to catch and show off his speed. I wish the guy best, but he may have a hard time getting a job now with all the tape of fumbles he had here.

When we signed Randel El, A.B. was pretty much gone, he definitely should have participated in NFLE to work on his skills, and try to land a job somewhere else.

I think someone else will pick him up. Wait untill a WR gets hurt during camp or preseason. AB will find a home. He took one to the house last year, that's got to count for something somewhere.

AB is a goner. Sad to say but he just never produced when push came to shove.

If Patten never gets injured, we never see Brown again. He won the Cards game for us, so I'm glad he contributed to our season, but I think his time in DC is over.

If he could only catch and not fumble the ball he would be amazing. Well so would everybody else for that matter, but especially him!
Thanks for the Cards game and wish you the best!

Barring injuries to Randle El and other players, Antonio Brown has no future in Washington period. It's a shame that he has such lousy hands because he has the speed for the return game, and he can get open running routes. He should get one of those punting machines and practice catching punts 25 hours a day.

AB provided excitment in our kick returns - about whether he would drop the ball or run back for a TD. I'm sure the coaches were holding their breath everytime he received a kick....
Overall, I think his return skills were below average. Usually the wrong return decision for a low return value. Mostly weak returns with an occassional excellent one.
In one pre-season game this last season he dropped 5 passes from Brunell. One of the passes hit his helmet, so they were on the money......
He won't be back again.... ADIOS. Someone will see the TD return and pick him up.

Not that i want A.B to play if he fumbles, but Randle El was skeptical about taking kickoffs too.

There is no reason to bash the guy. No wonder alot of people think the Redskins have the worst fans in the league.

NO but you can't say we didn't give him a chance (TJ also) and if either one ever plays for an opponent, it would actually be a good thing, unless TJ gets any confidence or Brown ever learns how to catch, other wise they will just be taking up roster space........truth be told

With this said, I think we can assume Randle El will wear #82 this year.

I agree. I probably like AB less than anyone here b/c I despise turnovers, but there is no need to rip him. I appreciate his help winning the 'Zona game (good call BNG) and I wish him the best with his future team.

What does he have to lose by going to NFLE? I don't know if he proved enough last year to get a spot on somebody else's roster..
Well, good luck AB wherever you go..

Doesn't seem like alot of bashing to me. Most have simply said that he's going to be cut and why (lack of hands). Pretty tame if you ask me.

I really liked this guy. He performed well in training camp and preseason. But when it mattered, he wasn't there. He did save us in our overall worst game of our 5 game win streak. I wish him the best of luck and I hope that he can learn to catch.

Agreed. I was really hoping he would light things up in the pre-season and win a starting spot. He could have been the certified speedster next to Moss.
I'm sorry things didn't work out for him here because of his hands. He gave it his all and the KO return for a TD will be a highlight for his career. Hope he can get another job on another team.

I would be fine keeping him as our 6th WR and second return man. I just think this guy has something in him that we can use. I would take Farris over him though, so that would put him and 7, which is too many.

Yeah, I just don't see them keeping AB. He was brought in as an emergency fix after Thrash and Patten went down. The talent level is too high now in the WR ranks and Thrash and Betts can fill in as backup KO/PR players for Randle El.

I know it's unlikey, I just really like this guy and his work ethic. I would definetly take him over TJ though.

AB's kickoff return for a TD in the Cards game probably made the difference between going to the playoffs last year and not.
That being said, its an extremely long shot that he makes the team. We currently have 13 WRs on the roster. I'm sure those guys are all auditioning for a chance to be a KR/PR.
