He must have stepped it up a ton or the others have become stones on the field and can't move :D Maybe he wants Iffy to stay healthy... ok, I would be surprised if Terrell is the opening day starter

Good to this player persevere and continue to develope.

If you remember his history, he was drafted, cut, resigned, cut again, resigned again, may have spent some time on the PS and finally made it under Marty. Glad to see he stuck in there and is taking this thing seriously. It will only make our team better if he pushes a former starter to the bench.

robert makes a good point. Its nice to see DT keep at it and finally gets to where he wants to be, a starting S in the NFL.

But, I'm holding out to see how he plays against the competition. There are some players who are practice players. Then there are the ones who are game players. I hope he has turned the corner. I just don't want to get overly excited. I really like Iffys' play last season. Seemed to always be in the right place at the right time.

The thing with Terrell is, i knew at one point he woudl nto come in and just relinquish the starting role. We heard snippets on and off all off-season about Terrell progressing, working hard, doing extra work with with DB Coach Catavolus. I am actually quite psyched to see Terrell and how much improvement he has had.

The job belongs to the best player. I must confess, though, that I hoped Ohalete would keep the job. Terrell might become a good safety, but I doubt he'll ever be as good at that job as he is at playing on special teams. And we need help on our special teams in a big way.

I had the same thought. We need Terrell as a sure tackler on kick/punt coverages. Remember all the comments about us letting a former beer truck driver return a punt and kick for TD in the same game vs the Saints. We put that stiff in the Pro Bowl!

As far as the Safety spots go, I have no real rooting interest. I wasn't that big on Ohalete as some were and Terrell never seemed to be in the right place. We surely need vast improvement. I won't soon forget a suspect Dorsey Levens leisurely jogging straight up field for the Eagles on MNF right into the endzone untouched. No one in the deep middle whatsoever. Can't blame it all on Sammy Shade last year either. Maybe this Bowen will be solid. Too early to say though.

This is spot on. Considering the number of games he played, Terrell accounted for a criminally low number of turnovers. How does a guy stay on the field that long and never make an interception? One of the key jobs of a free safety is to account for turnovers. He must have been one of the worst at it I've ever seen.

And I watched Stanley Richards play here for four years!

I guess we just have to take the word of the coaches..they see improvement.

Let the best guy play. That's all we can leave it at. If he does well through the PS games, then let him run with it. If he lets some wideout fly by him up the seam... then we have a problem.

Obviously if one of our players is playing better, it's good news.
