I guess I'm slightly surprised he wasn't picked up by some team desperately in need of recieving talent, but I guess everyone saw enough of him in Washington.

it is really a shame he had a bright future at one point but he could never stay smart and healthy. Oh well he still made a ton of money. Maybe he could get into real estate with heath Shuler so our combo can finally work together :D :D

Also somebody had better reel in Bowen or someone is going to get hurt geeshh
This guy must have one heck of a motor, I love it but take it easy on our offense save it for Sat

I have always been a Westbrook fan and just can't understand how such a bright career (potential) went down the tubes with all these injuries.
Mike just didn't cut the mustard. Great things was expected of him.

My favorite quote ...
"We can talk all we want about what should be different, but right now we have to prove we can play with Philly and with the New York Giants," Spurrier said. "We're behind 'em right now. We've got to prove it."
a new motivation maybe ???
I like it

Maybe the second biggest example of unfullfilled potential (#1. Jeff George).
Damn, both played for our Skins, too.

Spurrier said he expects the Redskins' starters, including quarterback Patrick Ramsey, to play 10 to 15 plays Saturday. Backup quarterbacks Rob Johnson and Danny Wuerffel both will play, he said.
Aww...come on! That means we only get to see Patrick throw the ball around 6 times?
That also makes me believe we will not get to see many carries from Trung. I also hope Morton gets plenty of opportunities to carry the ball along side Gillespie and Sultan.

Westy could not stay healthy and i really dont think he ever recovered from the torn acl. His other problem was purely ego and feeling that he was always owed something.

Westbrook had injury problems, but there was more to it than that. He was a lazy route-runner and if he didn't get the ball thrown his way he would sulk. He had all the attitude of Randy Moss and only half the talent. And the only reason anyone puts up with Randy Moss' attitude is all that talent.

I don't agree Spence. I don't think mike had even half Moss's talent :D

Westy was the man...who else could you count on to punch his own teammates or throw a tantrum that cost a game. We want Westbrook back! (sarcasm off) :D

I've always been a Westy supporter. I like the players with attitudes and dislike the "goody-goodies"(like Woeful). I'm odd like that. Anyway, I find it surprising that Westy is gone from the NFL so fast. He wasn't nearly as bad as most Redskins fans make him out to be, expect that he couldn't stay healthy. He was great in 1999 and would have had a good 2001 had Marty not decided that he was going to have Banks throw the ball to Gardner every down.

Well, remember that Westbrook had more receptions than Gardner did in 2001. Gardner had more receiving yards, though, because his per catch average was better.
I hated the way Westbrook would tell the papers in preseason that this was the year he would catch 90 passes and score 20 touchdowns.
