We've had 11 place kickers in the past 8 years....

We've had around 12 QBs in the past 11 years....

So, which would you consider cost us more games? The PKs or the QBs? Both are normally very important to a teams success during the season.

So, what's your thoughts?

I had to go with PKs. It seems like the games that our QBs has kept us in the game, our PKs have missed way too many FGs.

Kicking has cost us mor egames than anything. Missed Fgs, short kick offs, you name it, they have killed us. NOW, even more so, how about special teams blocking and coverage units?

i agree with the PK's. in 2000 we could have won 3 more games had it not been for shotty Place kicking. then there was the 1999 playoff game against the Bucs. just too many times the kickers came up short. now some people may say "well if we had better QB's than we wouldnt have needed the Place Kickers as much" but i say that as stated before, in games where the qb's actually kept us in the game, the kicking game let us down

I also went PKers but I think we have been hurt alot at Qb too.

MAtthews, Woeful Frerotte, Shuler, George, Banks.. that is a pretty sad list

While I can understand why many people would say PK, I am a firm believer that when you miss on drafting a frachise QB high in the draft (i.e. Shuler) and they are a bust, it sets your franchise back 6-8 years, IMHO (thanks CarMike).

Just ask the Bungles!

I voted QB simply because of the leadership/motivation factor. When you have these depressing noodle arm, lame-brained stiffs that we've put behind center over the last decade (aside from B. Johnson), your team morale never quite gets to the 'we believe' level. Sure we've lost several games at the end due to kicking, but we've lost alot more because we haven't had a leader to rally around. Ram seems to be an inspirational guy that the squad can put their hopes in and play through pain for. Lets hope the bubble doesn't burst , at least not the 1st game!

It's easy for me: Quarterbacks. We have not had the sort of defense that allows our quarterbacks to just keep the team in the game. Rypien in 1992 and 1993, Shuler in 1994-1996, Frerotte in 1994-1997, Jeff George in 2000-2001, Matthews/Wuerffel/Ramsey in 2002--it's clear to me that quarterbacks have been the bane of our existence since our last Super Bowl victory. [Brad Johnson in 1999 being the sole exception.]

Gotta be Kickers. Eddie Murray, Conway, Akers, Tuthill, just to name a few. With a better kicking game we could have been a playoff team in 2000 and could have been a better team in '02.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Since FG's come from the offense's inability to score a TD, I went with QB here.

Head Coach has been the weakest link of this team for the past 5 years. Just like with my team (now resolved).

QB and PK have been problematic, but the real cancer has lay elsewhere.

Normally, the highest scorer on any given team is the Kicker. I agree that we could've won a few more games in the past few years with a good kicker (and) or punter.

But the constant change over in QB's (and coaches) has wrecked the ability of our team to function as a unit.
I'll go with QB.

For last year, I'd say WR. Worst Redskins WR I've ever seen.

For the Snyder Era, kickers by hair. Worst Redskins Kickers I've ever seen.

Including the Casserly Era, QB. Worst Redskins QBs I've ever seen.

i think its the qb. think about when we had tony banks. all of the time outs he wasted. last year in the thanksgiving game, we were lined up just about on our own goal line, play clock about to run out, and wuerrful called a timeout, instead of just taking the half a yard back or whatever. we could have done a short, quick pass and used that time out, and then have ramsey bomb one. also, heath shuler(enough said). jeff george couldnt quarterback himself out of a paper bag.

If you really look back at the last few years the QB's have been average but Kickers have been horrible. They have lost us more games then I can count.

Kickers. Kickers got Norv Turner fired. Kickers cost us the playoffs in 2000. John hall better be good

i see a lot of good points guys. i went with the place kickers because even with average QBs, we would have made the playoffs more then once since joe gibbs left. i think in the long term, not having a franchise QB has hurt us, but we've lost plenty of games because of a horrible kicking game.
