Didn't see this posted anywhere. What's everyone think. I think it's okay as long as doesn't effect the top 63 teams.

I think the selection comittee needs to do a better job evaluating talent, the number of teams are fine IMO.

It's been a great tourney so far and why would you want to change that. But maybe if they had a few rounds of play in games. On the other hand what would that matter a 16 has never beat a 1 seed.

Hofstra a team that had beaten GMU twice in a month before the tourney didn't get in. They are relying too much on the names of the power conferences.

They have the best thing going right now. The only thing that comes close to it is the NFL. Why start screwing with things when they don't need fixed?

Keep it at 65 teams and move along.

yeah, i think its fine as it is. adding another round means adding more teams, and they more than likely wouldnt be able to compete.

Wow what timing after a team is jilted after the tourney right before the Final 4. The current system is fine and appropriate and shouldn't be changed. All these teams know what they need to get to the tournament and what they need to do to proceed in it and go to the big one. Don't fix it if it ain't broken.

It would add a coulpe more bubble teams, but by lowering the bar, you just open the door for more bubble teams and the problem will continue. Just leave it alone.

The only sport I wouldn't mind seeing expand the playoff would be baseball. But, atleast in baseball the regular season actually means something. If you make the playoffs in MLB, you know you've a pretty good season. Unless you're in a weak division.

I love the idea of 4 play-in games instead of just one.

I could get behind that. I also would like to think about a 128 team field. That way there is no carping about deserving mid majors and underserving major conference teams making the team. Don't get me wrong I like the 64 team field (can someone tell me the point of the stand alone play in game?) but there is something to be sadi or adding one more round that could take up a whole nother weekend. just a thought.

So, no more NIT tournament at the end of the season, huh?

yeah...no one watches it anyways. You could have the first round be home games for the higher seeds to avoid big time scheduling issues. It will give revenue for some teams and getting into the first 64 seeds would still be big deal.

Hey, i watched South Carolina win back to back NITs last night, not much of an accomplishment but still.

I can imagine the committee meeting about fixing the tourney going something like this:

"Hey, this March Madness thing works great."
"Sure does. Lets try to fix it."

I hate the idea of taking more teams to the Big Dance. Just like I don't want to see the NFL allow more teams into the playoffs. I like for the regular season to actually mean something. Thats one of the downfalls for the NHL IMO. Way to many teams in the playoffs which seem to last forever.
