Im a fan. Id have to say that was a great comeback yesterday, the first half was dreadful but what a second half! Too bad they didnt take the lead, they were given more chances to do just that than United gave the Red bulls in the first.
Great to see Esky back; if he plays with that intensity all year it will be a great campaign. I'll be counting the days until Rimando gets back, Perkins didnt inspire much confidence yesterday, but Erpen looks to be just what United has needed in a central defender since Ryan Nelson left (im not talking about that sweet goal he got, im talking about his defense in the second half).

I think they really missed Boz in the first half but came out smoking in the second. Good to see Aleko score that beauty. It's got to give him a real shot of confidence.

Pretty nice?:) I went to a D.C. United shootout game at RFK which they won to advance to the Championship two years ago. I have since realized that soccer fans are interesting people.

They were garbage last year, It's pretty much a whole new team with Bob Bradley coaching, Paco Palencia from the Mexican NT and Jesse Marsch from the Chicago Fire on the roster. United better not be asleep....

I'm usually a section behind the Barra, and I just move up behind the railing when I get sick of people sitting back in their chairs chatting about anything that might come up. Next season, my last in DC before college, I'm looking into a season-long membership but I don't know if that'll work.

We've always got Barra tickets on game day. Stop by a tailgate this year and ask for Chico. At the very least you'll get to pound some free beers with all the Barra locos.
click on the link below and then on tailgate for directions and info.....

For those of you who have seen the games, I just want to see if you agree with me, I think Aleco is playing brilliantly. I have been very impressed with his performance so far. Forgive me if I'm wrong but this is great considering he is coming off an injury??

I'm estatic he's playing so well. He's really fit and his confidence is improving week to week. United is top heavy at the forward position so if he keeps playing like this it's going to give Nowak fits as who to start. It's a good problem to have....

I love the United! Never made it up for a game though. 44Fan makes it very tempting though. ;)
I've been wanting a DC jersey or t-shirt for the longest time. But I can't find anything down here in college hoops town.

Excellent tailgate and win last night. Besides a keg of DOS XX one of our gang brought a keg of Margaritas! :banger:
Freddy Adu was well worth the price of the ticket. He ran at people all night long, excellent skills and a blistering shot. Great crowd last night too, lots of smoke bombs and streamers. I urge all you guys to come out for a real soccer experience.

It did. The look on Meola's face was priceless.
Sidenote: Harkes was at the Nats game last week and sat in front on me.

The team is honoring the Decades Best 11 this saturday when United plays Dallas. Marco Etcheverry, John Harkes, Raul Diaz Arce, and a host of others are scheduled to attend. I hope you guys can make it down for this game. It should be a special evening, not to mention both conferance leaders are going at it. United needs to keep RFK rocking just like the Skins used to.
Did someone say "WE WANT DALLAS" ? :D

I cant start a new thread, so Ive gotta use this one.
Since there are no DC United message boards, I have to ask my question here. Whats up with Rimando? I thought he would be ready by now, but I havent heard a word about it. There is no way I would put him back in goal right now, though, Perkins is playing amazing right now.

I agree. I've been to many United games. While it is fun, the lower bowl of RFK isn't even full. It wasn't even full when the I went to the US-Panama game a while back.
My best experience, I was living in Brazil in grade school and my Dad took my brother and I to the Brazilian League Finals! Corinthians vs. Sao Paulo...WOW!! Got to see all the rabid fans, fights between security and drunken idiots, and they even set the bleachers on fire. It was great! If the fire was in our section, I'm sure i'd have a different opinion. So yeah, if you want an experience, you gotta go to Europe or Latin America.
Hopefully the MLS fan base will keep growing, which I think it will and then maybe some day we will be able to get the true experience here...minus the fires and riots.:sfight:

No, it's only 12-1-5 and I can't make the Celtic match. If you go, stop by our tailgate and ask for either Marshall or Oscar and tell them Chico sent you. They'll hook you up with a ticket and all the info on our group. I'll be at the game next saturday. Look me up

Haha, yeah I got ahead of myself. It's a shame the tickets are so damned expensive for tonight's game. Hopefully there will be ~20k, and I think there should be a pretty strong Celtic contingent.

1-1 draw at Chicago was a good result. RSL on Saturday, followed by a US Open Cup game vs Columbus in Germantown.
And then there is the obsurd friendly with Real MAdrid that will be played in Seattle. Of all places, Seattle? Apparently they are trying to keep as many DC fans from attending this game as possible. They'll play Wed. August 9 at Qwest field, and it might be on TV (tbd). Game starts at 11pm...meh

Yeah, them moving the Real Madrid game has alot of people steamed. They did try and play it at Camden Yards but those plans couldn't be finalized.
Damn, United NEEDS its own stadium.

United played to a great 1-1 draw vs Real Madrid. They played terrificly, and the game was very entertaining. The one thing the game unfortunately highlighted was our lack of depth. After trading Quaranta and releasing Filomeno, we have only Jamil Walker waiting in reserve at striker, while Clyde Simms is the only proven midfielder we can bring off the bench. Hopefully we can use the allocations we have received from Q and Dema to bring in a new player who is able to spell the starters without dropping the level of play too badly.

If you guys want to come to one of the best tailgates EVER, come down to Lot 8 this sunday. La Barra Brava will be hosting two bands live who have members of the Barra in them. Tons of food and drinks. We'll also be hosting the players families like the Morenos and Gomez clans. There's no Skins game this week so come and join the Blackout as we squash the NY Redbulls in our quest to win our 5th MLS Cup. For more info click on www.barra-brava.com and then on tailgate info. Hope to see you guys there....

Tickets are going fast but yes there are still tickets in the Barra available. Send Oscar an email and tell him how many you want. You can reach him at hozkar98@cox.net.
From the Metro, walk towards the stadium and go down the stairs to your right. You'll walk thru the tunnel that leads you into Lot 8. Just walk all the way back towards the river. When you're almost at the river look to your right and you'll see about 300 drunken crazy Barra members whooping it up. :D
